## Why Jjamppong Jijeon on the drive to Seooreung?

I've arrived at Jjamppong Jijeon 👍🏻
A jjamppong spot that even a jjamppong king has eaten at!
On the way to a drive around Goyang, there are surprisingly a lot of good restaurants near Seooreung.
Today I wanted spicy soup along with tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), so I decided on Jjamppong Jijeon, which is famous for its jjamppong.
I'd seen it on Instagram and had been curious.
It's a jjamppong loaded generously with both seafood and meat, so it can't not be delicious~

Apparently takeout also gets 10% off~~
Generous Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch.
This Seooreung restaurant is also great because parking is convenient.

## Inside Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch: space and seating

Walking in, the place was bigger and cleaner than I expected.
I could feel the owner constantly walking around and keeping an eye on things 👍🏻
The tables have decent spacing between them, so it looked good for family meals or visits with several people, and overall it felt well-maintained and tidy.
Clean and friendly — that made this Seooreung restaurant even better.

True to its name, jjamppong is the main menu item!
The jjamppong is delicious, so you must try it~~
Beyond that, there's fried rice, jjajangmyeon, tangsuyuk, and mandu (dumplings) too!
It's a casual Chinese restaurant focused on jjamppong 🍜

## Self-serve bar with bean sprouts and free rice

For the basic side dishes,
there's a self-serve bar set up on one side so you can easily grab more.
From the classic pickled radish and jajangmyeon pickles to bean sprouts, everything was ready so I could take as much as I needed.
Especially piling bean sprouts onto the jjamppong added a crunchy texture that made it feel a bit different in a good way.
Regulars seemed to set up their bean sprouts first thing 😋
I ordered jjamppong-bap, which came with rice separately,
but since rice is also available at the self-serve bar, you can enjoy both noodles and rice even if you order jjamppong — that's a nice perk!

On this day I ordered Sichuan tangsuyuk, jjamppong-bap, and crab fried rice ☺️

Jjamppong Jijeon — a great Seooreung restaurant

### Sichuan tangsuyuk, 21,000 won

First up, Sichuan tangsuyuk!
Unlike regular tangsuyuk, it has a spicy sauce added, so it wasn't greasy and I kept going back for more.
Being glutinous rice tangsuyuk, it had an appealingly chewy texture, and the spicy-sweet sauce paired really well — eating it alongside the jjamppong worked great too.
If you like spicy food, I'd recommend trying the Sichuan version for a different twist instead of just the plain glutinous rice tangsuyuk.

### Jjamppong-bap, 13,000 won

The moment I'd been waiting for!!
I actually like rice more than noodles ❤️
Jjamppong-bap from a jjamppong specialist place can't not be good 🤤

Look how loaded the jjamppong ingredients are 👍🏻
Meat, squid, scallops — all piled in!

![Jjamppong-bap loaded with meat and seafood](https://img.superchart.com/images/seooreung-jjamppong-jijon-sichuan-tangsuyuk/seooreung-jjamppong-jijon-sichuan-tangsuyuk-15-1wn58-900.webp)

![Jjamppong broth showing squid and scallops](https://img.superchart.com/images/seooreung-jjamppong-jijon-sichuan-tangsuyuk/seooreung-jjamppong-jijon-sichuan-tangsuyuk-16-gdw9i-900.webp)

The jjamppong-bap wasn't just spicy broth — the ingredients were generous too, which made it even better.
The crunchy vegetables and chewy seafood blended really well with the broth, and eating it with rice made for a filling meal ☺️
The broth was rich and perfect for pouring over rice, so it was hard to put my spoon down until the very end 🍜

### Crab fried rice, 11,000 won

Nicely fried, fluffy crab fried rice!
It was savory and light, making it a good pairing to order alongside jjamppong.
Ordering a spicy dish like jjamppong along with fried rice lets you enjoy different flavors together, which is great for sharing a variety of dishes when visiting with several people.

It comes with jjamppong broth on the side too.

## The after-meal drink and coffee corner

And after finishing the meal, there was also a simple dessert corner to enjoy.
Drinks like iced tea, blue lemonade, omija tea, and plum tea were available, along with an americano coffee machine.
Chinese food can sometimes leave your mouth feeling a bit heavy afterward, but being able to finish off with a cool drink or a cup of coffee made this thoughtful touch even more appreciated 👍🏻

## How to order at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch

If you want to enjoy spicy jjamppong, tangsuyuk, and fried rice all at once,
this Seooreung restaurant, Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch, is highly recommended!
It's clearly always busy for a reason ☺️
Especially if you're visiting with several people, I'd also recommend everyone ordering their own jjamppong and sharing tangsuyuk or fried rice on the side!
It had been a while since I'd eaten Chinese food this generously, and I walked out full and satisfied 🤍
