While looking around Suji for somewhere clean, easygoing, and affordable, I visited Yun Ujae Shabu Kalguksu Gogidong Branch (윤우재 샤브칼국수 고기동점). At first, I thought it would just be a warm shabu-shabu meal, but once I tried it, I realized the menu does not end at shabu-shabu. 🍃🌿🌱

The meal moves from shabu-shabu with meat, mushrooms, and minari (water celery), to chewy kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) 👍🫢 and finally fried rice—and I was pretty surprised that it was about ₩11,500 per person. So filling and satisfying!

> The parking is seriously easy, too! I think it would be great for office workers’ lunches :) I went around 2 p.m. on a weekday, so it was relaxed. I hear there is a wait at lunchtime! A popular spot with a waiting room~

Above all, everything felt clean and the broth was refreshing, so the meal did not leave me feeling weighed down.

## Easy parking and a spacious dining room

Parking is one of those things that quietly matters when you are heading out to a good restaurant. Some places around Yongin or Suji are inconvenient for parking, but Yun Ujae Shabu Kalguksu Gogidong Branch was easy, which I loved. 👍👍 When you come by car, simply not having parking stress before your meal really raises the satisfaction level.

> The restaurant is spacious and pleasant, and there is a group room too, so it is perfect for a lunch get-together. Great value plus great taste—Yun Ujae Shabu Kalguksu is a Gogiri favorite.

![Spacious, pleasant restaurant interior](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae-03-1k3ec-900.webp)

The overall setting felt neat, so it was easy to bring family, and even the food itself had a tidy, well-presented feel.

> A clean white interior with a comfortable atmosphere, and the staff were so kind! My mom had been finding food a little greasy lately, but she enjoyed this because it was clean-tasting, nicely spicy, and delicious! I think parents would like it too.

When I choose a restaurant, even if the food is delicious, I hesitate to return if the space is messy. Here, I could eat comfortably without that concern.

> You can tell how carefully they manage the place... The minari was really fresh, and what surprised me was that the shabu-shabu meat quality was so good :) They also shared a tip: there can be a wait on weekends, so use the Catchtable app!

For anyone looking for a restaurant in Dongcheon-dong or Suji, I think this clean atmosphere could be a pretty important point too.

> We had the regular broth + extra minari + extra sirloin! Even the regular broth reduces as it cooks and stays refreshing! You could feel the care put into every detail!!

## From shabu-shabu to fried rice for about ₩11,500 per person

The first thing that surprised me this time was the price.

> Kalguksu + fried rice + shabu-shabu is completely filling! Haha. Above all, the freshness of the meat and vegetables just melts through! I have been to a lot of restaurants in Gogiri and honestly they can be expensive, but Yun Ujae Shabu Kalguksu has both value and taste!

![Shabu-shabu, kalguksu, and fried rice course](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae-07-aeed5-1200.webp)

After the shabu-shabu, you add the kalguksu, then finish with fried rice, so it really feels like you have eaten a complete meal.

> It had been a while since I ate something so warmly spicy and refreshing!! My mom said even the kimchi was delicious, haha. You could really taste the care in every part—the vegetables, meat, and hand-pulled noodles! Haha.

![Shabu-shabu meal and kimchi](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae-08-f8bxc-900.webp)

Shabu-shabu, then kalguksu, and then fried rice too? What surprised me was that every single part was delicious!

> What was fascinating was the flat hand-pulled noodles..! They were seriously chewy. Wrap meat and minari around the noodles, dip them in sauce, and it is perfect! My mom does not usually like noodles, but she said these were so unusual and chewy that she wanted to buy them separately ;; Next time, we will order more, haha.

At first I wondered whether the portions would be enough, but as I ate, I naturally made it all the way to the end. Can you see the quality of the shabu-shabu meat? Extra meat was about ₩14,000! It was fresh, so I was very satisfied :)

## Refreshing shabu-shabu brightened by minari

> The combination of the gentle minari aroma + mushrooms + meat + sauce is crazy good!! I like healthy, tasty food that is not greasy, and this was exactly it. Why am I only finding out about it now? Hahaha.

Broth is so important in shabu-shabu, right? Personally, the broth at Yun Ujae Shabu Kalguksu Gogidong Branch tasted clean and refreshing. As it gradually reduces, it gets even tastier, hahaha.

![Refreshing shabu-shabu broth](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae-11-119mc-900.webp)

Adding mushrooms, minari, and meat together made the flavors come together into something even richer. The minari in particular made the broth feel fragrant and fresh rather than heavy.

![Shabu-shabu with mushrooms, minari, and meat](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae-12-1kldp-900.webp)

The tender mushrooms, mild meat, and distinctive aroma of minari kept me reaching for more. Rather than a style that grabs your palate with aggressively strong flavor, it was clean-tasting in a way I liked more and more as I ate.

## Substantial, chewy house-made kalguksu

What was especially fascinating about this meal was the kalguksu noodles. Their chewiness, as house-made noodles, was definitely memorable. They had that substantial handmade-noodle character while still staying springy when bitten, so they felt a little different from typical kalguksu noodles.

![Chewy house-made kalguksu](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae-15-bu6tz-900.webp)

> Turns out they are house-made, hand-cut kalguksu! I heard they have done a lot of work to develop the dough for that fine, chewy texture. So much care—ah, this is what handmade noodles are!

![Handmade hand-cut kalguksu noodles](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae-16-18pc7-900.webp)

Once you have enjoyed the shabu-shabu broth for a while, adding the kalguksu feels like the start of another meal as the broth naturally soaks into the noodles. The noodles were substantial but went down softly, and their chewy texture lingered the more I chewed. I think this is a point that kalguksu lovers in particular would enjoy.

![Kalguksu added to broth](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae-17-rzjwz-900.webp)

### When you add kalguksu to the shabu-shabu broth

Who knew shabu-shabu and kalguksu would work together this well? During the shabu-shabu stage, you focus on the meat and vegetables, but when you move on to the kalguksu, it feels as though the flavors of all those earlier ingredients have naturally melted into the broth.

![Shabu-shabu and kalguksu combination](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae-18-d2skg-900.webp)

![Kalguksu enriching the broth](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae-19-ijzto-900.webp)

So it feels a little different from the first taste of the broth. Once chewy noodles join the broth that has been simmering with mushrooms, minari, and meat, it becomes much more filling.

> The kimchi is delicious too :) House-made kimchi using Korean ingredients!

More than anything, I liked the noodle texture. They were substantial like handmade noodles, but not tough—just pleasantly chewy, which made eating kalguksu fun.

> Seriously refreshing and filling! I think you will get a really satisfying meal! Great value, great value.

## Final fried rice with extra cheese

Honestly, after shabu-shabu and kalguksu, I thought that would be the end. But when fried rice came at the end too, I was surprised all over again.

![Fried rice to finish the meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae-20-zodlc-900.webp)

After enjoying the flavors of the shabu-shabu broth and ingredients, having fried rice at the end made the meal feel properly complete.

> I was full... but it was delicious, so I ate it all ^^; I added cheese to the fried rice and wondered, “When will we ever finish this?” Then we came out after finishing it all, hahaha.

A Dongcheon-dong favorite... People already know it, so there is definitely a wait on weekends or at lunch!! Honestly, I kept thinking just one thing while eating.

![Value-for-money meal course](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae-21-d8v7n-900.webp)

> What is this at this price?

I liked the overall set enough that it made me think about the price all over again.

## For a day when you want a clean, refreshing meal

The best thing about shabu-shabu is getting to eat vegetables and meat together, of course. This time too, I added plenty of mushrooms and minari, so it felt healthy. You know those days when you crave a warm meal of vegetables and meat in broth.

![Shabu-shabu with mushrooms and minari](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae-22-hcgrn-900.webp)

It would be especially fitting on a day when you have little appetite or crave something clean and refreshing rather than overly heavy food. If you expect shabu-shabu to be bland, it may feel a little different. After enjoying the meat and vegetables, then the chewy kalguksu, and finally fried rice, it was plenty satisfying as a full meal.

![A complete shabu-shabu meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae/yongin-gogiri-shabu-noodle-yoonwoojae-23-10ptf-900.webp)

When looking for somewhere to eat around Yongin, I end up considering price, taste, parking, and the restaurant atmosphere—and this time, I was satisfied on several fronts. What stayed with me most was the course that runs from shabu-shabu to kalguksu and fried rice for about ₩11,500 per person.

> The food was clean-tasting overall. The shabu-shabu with mushrooms, minari, and meat was refreshing; the kalguksu had wonderfully chewy noodles; and finishing with fried rice gave the whole meal a great flow from beginning to end.

If you are looking for something a little different in Dongcheon-dong or Suji, or for a good-value meal in Yongin, go go. Shabu-shabu is also easy to choose for a family meal or a group because it does not tend to divide tastes too much. Warm broth with vegetables and meat, then chewy kalguksu, finished with fried rice. More than anything, I loved being able to enjoy the whole process at a price that did not feel burdensome. I think I will come often!
