## In short

Marblejeong (마블정) is a premium 1++ Korean beef and wine-aged pork belly restaurant on the second floor at 57 Seongsuil-ro, a two-minute walk from Ttukseom Station in Seongdong, Seoul. For a special occasion the writer ordered the 1++ Korean beef mixed grill, 400g for 159,000 won, with sirloin, brisket and the recommended cut, skirt flank, all grilled at the table by staff and eaten with five sauces from Maldon salt to a house dipping sauce. Between the upscale room seating and the tableside grilling, Marblejeong works well for a meeting-the-in-laws dinner or for entertaining guests.

## Where Marblejeong Seongsu is, and what the room looks like

I wanted to eat somewhere a little special, so I headed to Marblejeong Seongsu, a Korean beef spot near Ttukseom Station. It's just a 2-minute walk from the station, so it's perfect for a meal followed by a stroll through Seoul Forest :) It was a happy day for me personally, and I wanted to eat somewhere nice — Marblejeong was exactly right.

Since it's a Korean beef specialty spot, they also sell Chuseok gift sets of premium beef. Beef gifts never disappoint haha.

Parking is available in the dedicated lot right next to the building.

Marblejeong is on the 2nd floor, and the staircase up is absolutely covered with celebrity autographs. Even before walking in, I could feel the strong 'real hidden gem' energy, and my expectations shot way up.

Right at the entrance, premium beef and wine-aged pork are displayed so you can see the meat's condition with your own eyes, which gave me extra confidence.

The interior is much bigger and far more upscale than I expected. High ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, star-shaped lighting everywhere, black-and-white striped floors, gold-frame chairs — it felt more like a fine-dining restaurant than a BBQ joint. There's even a bar table lined with wine glasses on one side. There are also glass-partitioned private rooms for privacy, plus a large hall and rooms that can seat 100+, so group reservations are possible — great for family gatherings or company dinners too.

Marblejeong, a Korean beef spot near Ttukseom Station, specializes in premium wet-aged beef and wine-aged pork belly. They offer a mixed grill platter, single cuts like skirt steak and brisket, and a special course for two or more. For meal menus, there's premium beef seaweed soup and brisket doenjang stew, and at lunch they serve a bulgogi set and an LA-style seasoned galbi set — it seemed like it could be a solid lunch spot in Seongsu too. Since this was a special day, I decided to flex a bit.

- 📋 Order
- Premium Korean beef mixed grill 400g (₩159,000)
- Sirloin + brisket + recommended cut (skirt flank)

While browsing the tablet menu, my eyes lit up at the dessert section..! Häagen-Dazs, rice-puff yakgwa, sesame yakgwa, iced sweet persimmon — quite a range of Korean desserts. I was too full from the meat to try any this time, but next visit I'm definitely ordering the yakgwa and the iced persimmon..!

## The banchan (side dishes) and the five sauces

![Refreshing dongchimi broth for cleansing the palate](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-hanwoo-formal-dinner-marbeljeong/seongsu-hanwoo-formal-dinner-marbeljeong-17-pi5gd-966.webp)

![Marblejeong's 5-sauce lineup including Maldon salt and fresh wasabi](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-hanwoo-formal-dinner-marbeljeong/seongsu-hanwoo-formal-dinner-marbeljeong-18-jfu48-966.webp)

First, the basic side dishes. Pickles and kimchi-type sides that go well with meat — each one was seasoned just right, so I kept picking at them even before the meat arrived. The dongchimi (watery radish kimchi) broth in particular was so refreshing and delicious, perfect for cleansing the palate between bites of meat. A sip of dongchimi after rich beef and your mouth feels completely reset..! My favorite was the lightly dressed lettuce salad — tangy and a bit spicy, and it went really well with the meat.

Marblejeong's sauce lineup is genuinely impressive. British Maldon salt, fresh wasabi, shiitake horseradish, a perilla leaf pesto made with almonds and honey, and Marblejeong's own house dipping sauce — five sauces in total, so it was fun dipping each bite differently.

## How does the 400g mixed grill of sirloin, skirt flank and brisket taste?

Finally, the premium beef mixed grill arrives! Each cut comes out with its own little wooden nameplate — I loved that detail 😎 The plating alone earned two thumbs up. The marbling was so beautifully laced through that I wanted to grill it immediately.

### Sirloin: grilled at the table by Marblejeong staff

First up, sirloin. At Marblejeong, staff grill it for you, so all we had to do was eat — so convenient. It's grilled together with mushrooms, asparagus, and potato, and served onto our plates piece by piece. One bite in and I could tell the aging was done really well!! Juicy and tender, it practically melted in my mouth 🥹

![A piece of beef sirloin dipped in Maldon salt](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-hanwoo-formal-dinner-marbeljeong/seongsu-hanwoo-formal-dinner-marbeljeong-21-h0bcw-966.webp)

![Beef sirloin topped with fresh wasabi](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-hanwoo-formal-dinner-marbeljeong/seongsu-hanwoo-formal-dinner-marbeljeong-22-1s25f-966.webp)

![Beef sirloin dipped in perilla leaf pesto](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-hanwoo-formal-dinner-marbeljeong/seongsu-hanwoo-formal-dinner-marbeljeong-23-10kgr-966.webp)

Just a light dip in Maldon salt was already delicious; fresh wasabi made it taste clean and crisp; and the perilla pesto gave it a nutty, slightly sweet flavor. Same sirloin, completely different taste depending on the sauce — I loved that.

![A piece of mushroom grilled alongside the meat](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-hanwoo-formal-dinner-marbeljeong/seongsu-hanwoo-formal-dinner-marbeljeong-24-lskqo-966.webp)

And the hidden star was the grilled mushroom! Definitely pop one whole into your mouth. Not greasy at all, nice and light — perfect between bites of meat.

### Skirt flank: the best cut of the night

Second was today's recommended cut, skirt flank! It was surprisingly even more tender than the sirloin. Grilled medium, which I think was the perfect doneness. The savory fat seeped out moist and rich, with a tender bite that was seriously amazing. Personally, this was the highlight of the day!

I also highly recommend the house dipping sauce — a soy-based sauce with garlic and cheongyang chili that was on a completely different level from your typical BBQ restaurant sauce. It had such a deep, refined flavor that I got curious what was actually in it.. maybe wine? (Probably not, haha.)

### Brisket with pickled lettuce, house sauce and ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste)

Last was the brisket. Thinly grilled brisket topped with pickled lettuce, house sauce, and ssamjang (soybean paste dip) all together — savory, tangy, and salty all at once, incredibly layered and delicious. (Definitely try brisket with this exact combo.) Every cut and every sauce tasted different each time, so I demolished it in no time.

## Is Marblejeong right for meeting the in-laws or hosting guests?

The upscale atmosphere and the staff grilling everything just right meant we could focus entirely on conversation, which I loved. That's why I think this place is genuinely well suited for a meeting-the-in-laws dinner or an important occasion where you're hosting guests! Pairing it with a glass of wine would make it perfect :) If you're looking for a Korean beef restaurant in Seongsu, I really recommend Marblejeong.
