## If sensitive skin makes facial contouring a worry

Lately, I’ve found myself paying more and more attention to my face line whenever I look in the mirror. My skin tends to be sensitive, and I had even been told at another skincare studio that I should be especially careful with contouring treatments. So although my face line was a concern, the thought of jumping straight into an intense treatment felt like a lot. I heard there was a place well known for facial contouring in Gwanggyo, Suwon, so I made a reservation and went along. The place I visited was Esthetia Gwanggyo 1st Branch (에스테티아 광교1호점).

## Parking and getting there from Gwanggyo Jungang Station

Parking is available, but there’s one handy tip for getting there by car. I was told that instead of simply searching Esthetia in the navigation app, searching “Mexicana Chicken Gwanggyo Branch” brings up Edu Plaza’s dedicated parking lot. I parked underground and went up to the third floor. If you’re walking from Gwanggyo Jungang Station, come out of Exit 2, turn left at the intersection, pass Gwanggyo High School, and head to the third floor of the building with Lotteria and Paik’s Coffee. It is said to take about seven minutes on foot.

## The Head & Neck treatment recommended after my consultation

I had booked ahead, and the staff member kindly guided me as soon as I arrived. Esthetia Gwanggyo 1st Branch operates strictly by reservation, which I liked because it didn’t feel like a crowded setting where treatments were happening all around you. Above all, I could talk about my skin condition and concerns before the visit. I had come because of my face line, but as I mentioned, my skin is sensitive, so I was a little worried about whether facial contouring would be okay for me.

After the consultation, rather than focusing only on my face, they recommended a program that would also treat other areas according to my current condition. They said the Head & Neck treatment seemed like it would suit me well.

As the name suggests, the Head & Neck treatment is a program that works continuously from the scalp through the neck, shoulders, trapezius muscles, and face line. They explained that it is also known as a Cheongdam-dong celebrity secret treatment, but personally, I found it interesting that it connected care for the head, neck, and shoulders rather than looking only at the face. They also said it is often recommended for people with a stiff neck and shoulders, a congested-feeling scalp, or frequent facial puffiness.

## A pre-treatment check in a private room

Before the treatment, I was shown to a private room for one person.

I changed out of my top and into the gown provided, and it was nice to be able to get ready comfortably in my own room.

I also filled out a checklist before the treatment. I could note areas that usually bother me, lifestyle habits, and specific concerns, so it felt like the treatment would be tailored to my condition rather than simply following a fixed sequence.

## Care that continued from the scalp to the face line

The Head & Neck treatment began in earnest, starting gradually with my scalp. They used a device to treat my scalp, neck, trapezius line, and face line, and I was a little nervous at first. But it was less intense than I had expected, with almost no painful feeling.

Instead, chatting about this and that with the therapist made the time pass quickly. When I think of facial care, I usually picture someone rubbing only the face or applying strong pressure, but this felt a little different because it started with the scalp, neck, and shoulders. They also explained which area was being treated along the way, which made it even easier to relax.

## Checking my neck and trapezius line afterward

Once the treatment was over, I immediately checked my face and neck line in the mirror, and it was fascinating because the before-and-after impression definitely felt different. In particular, the trapezius line I had been most concerned about looked noticeably different. Before, my shoulders and trapezius muscles seemed a little bunched up; afterward, the line looked softer and more delicate. My neck looked slimmer than before, and my face line also felt more polished overall.

Of course, rather than thinking one treatment creates a permanent change, I was quite satisfied with my personal impression after taking and comparing before-and-after photos. Above all, if you have sensitive skin like me and want facial contouring in Gwanggyo but find strong treatments intimidating, I think it would be best to have a consultation first and choose a program that suits you. Esthetia Gwanggyo 1st Branch says it consults on a range of concerns beyond a smaller-looking face or contouring, including cheekbone lines, asymmetry, double chins, facial balance, and skin concerns. They also said many people visit before an important shoot, wedding, or event to care for their facial condition. It seems like a good place to get a consultation if you have been curious about celebrity salons or treatments received by well-known influencers, too.

Honestly, I went in thinking only about my face line, but after receiving care for my scalp, neck, trapezius muscles, and face all at once, I could see why this program had been recommended. I think this kind of tailored consultation could also help people who have worried about sensitive skin like I did. This time I tried the Head & Neck treatment, and next time I’d like to have another consultation to see what other treatment might suit me :)
