## In short

Deodolpan Sanbon Branch is a Korean restaurant near Sanbon Station in Gunpo, Gyeonggi. We ordered the ₩45,000 three-person Oje Bokkeum set, adding chewy jjolmyeon noodles and cheonggukjang before finishing it over rice with sesame oil. Verdict: a satisfying choice when you want both spicy squid and pork stir-fry.

You know those days near Sanbon Station when you think, “Today, I want a proper rice meal!”? You want spicy pork stir-fry, and you want stir-fried squid too, but choosing just one somehow feels like a shame! This time, I went to Deodolpan Sanbon Branch, a great restaurant near Sanbon Station.

Fire-grilled stir-fried squid and spicy pork stir-fry are the signature dishes here, and without hesitation, we ordered the Oje Bokkeum set for three, which lets you have both squid and pork at once. To give you the conclusion first: don’t agonize over squid or pork—just have both. 😂 With spicy seasoning and that fire-grilled aroma, it was the kind of dish that made a bowl of rice disappear in no time.

## Deodolpan Sanbon Branch, close to Exit 3 of Sanbon Station

Deodolpan Sanbon Branch is in Sanbon Station’s main commercial area. It is in Room 201 on the second floor of Lotte Plaza, 16-7 Sanbon-ro 323beon-gil, Gunpo-si, Gyeonggi-do, and is about 150 m from Exit 3 of Sanbon Station—an easy walk from the station. If you are looking for lunch or dinner near Sanbon Station, it is conveniently located too.

Once you arrive in front of the Lotte Plaza building, you can find Deodolpan on the tenant directory. Deodolpan is on the second floor! The Sanbon Rodeo Street area has so many restaurants and shops that it can be a little confusing on a first visit, but following the building directory makes it easy.

## Deodolpan, specializing in fire-grilled squid and pork stir-fry

![Second-floor entrance to Deodolpan Sanbon Branch](https://img.superchart.com/images/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate-04-bpev8-900.webp)

As soon as you get to the second floor, there is Deodolpan Sanbon Branch. The entrance prominently says it specializes in fire-grilled squid and pork stir-fry. Even before going in, it feels like a properly smoky stir-fried dish is on its way! A bite of pork over white rice was already automatically appearing in my head, haha.

![Deodolpan Sanbon Branch hours notice](https://img.superchart.com/images/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate-05-1ncyd-900.webp)

The posted hours were 11:00–22:00, with a break time from 15:00–16:00. The last-order time shown in the restaurant and on Naver differed slightly, so if you plan to visit late, I recommend checking the latest hours before you go.

## Inside Deodolpan Sanbon Branch

![Tables inside Deodolpan Sanbon Branch](https://img.superchart.com/images/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate-06-3ycvd-900.webp)

Inside, everything was clean and the tables were spaced quite comfortably. The wood-toned tables and warm lighting made it a comfortable place for a meal. It looked good not only for a family meal or dinner with friends, but also for office workers looking for lunch or dinner near Sanbon Station.

![Seating inside Deodolpan Sanbon Branch](https://img.superchart.com/images/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate-07-1f1pe-900.webp)

![Window-side seating](https://img.superchart.com/images/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate-08-7bn80-900.webp)

The window seats have a clear view of Sanbon’s central commercial district, so they feel open rather than closed in. There is a little fun in looking outside while you wait for your food, too, haha.

## Oje Bokkeum set for three: menu and price

![Deodolpan Sanbon Branch menu](https://img.superchart.com/images/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate-09-1q30t-900.webp)

I also took a careful look at Deodolpan’s menu. Its signature sets are stir-fried squid, spicy pork stir-fry, Oje Bokkeum, and stir-fried squid with beef intestine. What we ordered was the 🔥 Oje Bokkeum set for three, ₩45,000. Oje Bokkeum is exactly what it sounds like: squid + spicy pork stir-fry, enjoyed together on one stone platter. When you cannot decide between pork and squid, choosing both is the very wise move. 😆

## Side dishes and the self-service bar

![Basic side dishes for the Oje Bokkeum set](https://img.superchart.com/images/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate-10-19b1t-900.webp)

![Oje Bokkeum set side-dish spread](https://img.superchart.com/images/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate-11-1n5at-900.webp)

These are the basic side dishes that came with the Oje Bokkeum set. There were perilla leaves, bean sprouts, stir-fried fish cake, pickled radish, young-radish kimchi, and other sides that pair well with spicy stir-fries. Rather than being an extravagant spread, they were a combination that supported the main dish.

The perilla leaves, especially, were such a good match with the Oje Bokkeum. Put a little rice, a piece of squid, and a piece of pork on one leaf… it would be harder for that not to taste good, haha. If you need more side dishes, there is a self-service bar on one side of the restaurant. Of course, only take as much as you can eat!

## The Oje Bokkeum set for three finally arrives

![Oje Bokkeum set on a stone platter](https://img.superchart.com/images/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate-12-pha8s-900.webp)

Finally, the Oje Bokkeum set we had been waiting for arrived! At first glance, my first thought was, “Wow, that seasoning means business.” A generous serving of squid, pork, cabbage, and assorted vegetables filled the large stone platter, with plenty of shredded scallions in the middle. Sesame seeds were sprinkled over the top too, making it a dish you have to photograph first.

### Squid and pork at once!

The biggest advantage of the Oje Bokkeum set is, of course, being able to eat both squid and pork from one stone platter. The squid was nicely chewy, while the pork had really soaked up the seasoning, so it was fun alternating between them. After pork for a while, one piece of squid changes the texture; then back to pork, and it tastes different again. It was less tiring than expected, and I just kept eating. Whether you are looking for spicy pork stir-fry or stir-fried squid in Sanbon, this one Oje Bokkeum set covers both. 😆

## Adding jjolmyeon noodles makes it complete

![Jjolmyeon noodles added to Oje Bokkeum](https://img.superchart.com/images/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate-13-1397t-900.webp)

![Stone-platter sauce and jjolmyeon noodles](https://img.superchart.com/images/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate-14-10p0n-900.webp)

You cannot just pass by an extra noodle add-on with a seasoned stir-fry like this. Put the jjolmyeon (chewy wheat noodles) on the stone platter and mix them evenly with the remaining sauce. At first I thought, “There is already so much of the main dish—can we even eat noodles too?” But… that was a completely unnecessary worry.

![A chopstickful of sauce-coated jjolmyeon](https://img.superchart.com/images/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate-15-exccp-900.webp)

One chopstickful of noodles thoroughly coated in sauce! A piece of squid, a piece of pork, and a chopstickful of noodles together made for chewy + nutty + sweet-spicy perfection. Personally, it was one of my favorite combinations in Deodolpan Sanbon Branch’s Oje Bokkeum set.

## Have it with cheonggukjang, too

![Cheonggukjang served with Oje Bokkeum](https://img.superchart.com/images/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate-16-15o1n-900.webp)

![Cheonggukjang with tofu](https://img.superchart.com/images/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate-17-mcsdp-900.webp)

After eating spicy Oje Bokkeum for a while, you start craving a warm soup. That is when a spoonful of cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew) is just right. Its savory broth, with tofu and various ingredients, paired nicely with the richly seasoned Oje Bokkeum. One bite of Oje Bokkeum, one bite of rice, one spoonful of doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew), then back to Oje Bokkeum. Follow this route and your rice disappears at an incredible speed, haha.

## Oje Bokkeum and sesame oil over rice

![Oje Bokkeum over rice](https://img.superchart.com/images/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate-18-yv4rg-900.webp)

![Oje Bokkeum rice bowl with sesame oil](https://img.superchart.com/images/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate-19-1a368-900.webp)

And here is the method I recommend! Pile plenty of squid and pork over rice, add a little sauce, then drizzle over sesame oil. It turns completely into an Oje Bokkeum rice bowl! The nutty sesame oil adds another appeal to the sweet-spicy fire-grilled seasoning. The strange phenomenon where, even after saying you are full, you mix it into rice and pick up your spoon again… 😂

## How to enjoy Deodolpan even more

![Deodolpan guide for enjoying the meal more deliciously](https://img.superchart.com/images/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate-20-filk2-900.webp)

The restaurant even has a guide titled “How to eat it more deliciously.” Enjoy the stir-fry as is first, then add glass noodles or Chinese-style wide glass noodles for a bouncy texture. Bean sprouts, young-radish kimchi, and perilla leaves offer yet another way to enjoy it. For the remaining sauce at the end, the guide also suggests adding fried rice or cheese. So do not go too hard from the beginning. Deodolpan has a second half, haha.

### Review event at the time of my visit

At the time of my visit, there was also an event related to Naver photo reviews. There were notices for a review-writing event and a prize-draw event, but events can change depending on when you visit, so it is best to check directly at the restaurant.

![Cheonggukjang meal-set information](https://img.superchart.com/images/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate-21-ijzl2-900.webp)

There was also information inside about cheonggukjang. In addition to the main stir-fried dishes, there were individual meal sets such as a traditional cheonggukjang table set and a Gangwon-do doenjang-jjigae table set, so it looked like a good place to come alone for a meal or lunch at Sanbon Station, too.

![Restaurant information about squid](https://img.superchart.com/images/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate/sanbon-oje-bokkeum-hotplate-22-1omps-900.webp)

There was separate information about the squid posted in the restaurant as well, which gave the impression that they pay attention to their ingredients.

## A hearty Oje Bokkeum set at Sanbon Station

Deodolpan Sanbon Branch was a good place to visit when craving a spicy yet hearty Korean meal at Sanbon Station. The best part of the Oje Bokkeum set for three we had was getting to taste both stir-fried squid and spicy pork stir-fry at once. The smoky fire-grilled flavor, rich sweet-spicy seasoning, chewy squid, and pork all went wonderfully with white rice.

It was fun mixing the noodles into the sauce, and a spoonful of cheonggukjang now and then made everything go down so easily. At the end, topping rice with Oje Bokkeum and finishing with a little sesame oil made for such a satisfying meal! If you are wondering whether to have spicy pork stir-fry or stir-fried squid at Sanbon Station, I recommend trying the Oje Bokkeum set and having both. If three people are visiting together, enjoy the generous Oje Bokkeum set for three. 😋 Next time, I want to save a little room and properly take on the fried rice at the end!
