## In short

Eungbongjip Dasan Station Branch is a frozen pork belly (samgyeopsal) Korean BBQ restaurant a two-minute walk from Exit 4 of Dasan Station in Namyangju, Gyeonggi. Two people ate their fill with the Samsami set at 37,000 won, which brings three servings of flash-frozen pork belly, plus Eungbong cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew) at 8,000 won with rice included, and the banchan ran to pudding-soft steamed egg, minari (water dropwort), radish kimchi and cabbage kimchi. Dipping the frozen pork belly in the egg yolk soy sauce was the most memorable part of the meal at Eungbongjip.

I wanted frozen pork belly in Dasan, so I went to Eungbongjip Dasan Station Branch. Frozen pork belly is thin so it cooks fast and you get to pair it with all sorts of things, right? Eungbongjip had a pretty varied lineup of banchan and sauces from the start, plus a little minari (water dropwort) served as a default side, which went great with the meat. Let me walk you through the location, menu, banchan and the meat combos in detail.

Eungbongjip Dasan Station Branch is a frozen-pork-belly place, but it's not purely old-school — it mixes retro vibes with a clean look. The exterior has an eye-catching green-tiled sign, and inside, the tables are spaced fairly generously so it didn't feel cramped. Marble-look tables paired with retro menu posters make it a fine spot for a casual drink or a relaxed family meal.

There's tablet ordering at the table too, so it was convenient not having to keep flagging down staff for extra orders.

Eungbongjip's mains are flash-frozen pork belly and flower neck meat (kkotmokssal), both ₩13,000 for 170g. You can order à la carte, but if you're planning on 3 servings, the set is a bit more economical. The Samsami set at ₩37,000 gets you 3 servings of frozen pork belly, and there are also mix combos like Kkotsami / Samkkoti that combine pork belly and flower neck meat. Three à la carte servings would be ₩39,000, so ordering the set saves about ₩2,000!

![Order slip for the Samsami set and Eungbong cheonggukjang](https://img.superchart.com/images/dasan-station-frozen-pork-belly-samsami-set/dasan-station-frozen-pork-belly-samsami-set-06-5fbeb-900.webp)

We ordered the Samsami for ₩37,000 and the Eungbong cheonggukjang for ₩8,000.

## Samsami set: three servings of flash-frozen pork belly and the banchan

![Three servings of frozen pork belly plated out](https://img.superchart.com/images/dasan-station-frozen-pork-belly-samsami-set/dasan-station-frozen-pork-belly-samsami-set-07-hbbus-900.webp)

We're pork belly people, so we kept it simple with 3 servings of pork belly! Frozen pork belly is thin and disappears faster than you'd think, so starting with 3 servings even for two people isn't as much as it sounds haha.

![Full banchan spread with sauces, sides and steamed egg](https://img.superchart.com/images/dasan-station-frozen-pork-belly-samsami-set/dasan-station-frozen-pork-belly-samsami-set-08-142ui-900.webp)

Before the meat came out, the banchan was set first, and the spread was more substantial than I expected. As in the photo, small bowls of various sauces and sides came out, with pudding-soft steamed egg in the center. There was garlic, chili, wasabi, salted seafood, salt and seasoning — everything ready so you could eat the meat in a bunch of different ways. For a frozen-pork-belly place like this, the banchan lineup matters almost as much as the meat, and once it was all laid out, I already thought, 'this is going to be fun to mix and match.'

![Pudding-soft steamed egg](https://img.superchart.com/images/dasan-station-frozen-pork-belly-samsami-set/dasan-station-frozen-pork-belly-samsami-set-10-dvy7r-900.webp)

![Radish kimchi and cabbage kimchi banchan](https://img.superchart.com/images/dasan-station-frozen-pork-belly-samsami-set/dasan-station-frozen-pork-belly-samsami-set-11-1gg7q-900.webp)

Two kinds of kimchi came out too, radish kimchi and cabbage kimchi, both delicious. Frozen pork belly itself is fatty, so kimchi grilled alongside or eaten fresh goes really well with it. Especially when you lay it lightly on the grill and let it cook in the meat's fat — genuinely delicious. A piece of frozen pork belly, grilled kimchi on top, and a light dip in the egg yolk soy sauce — combo complete haha.

### Minari comes free with the set, extra portions are 3,000 won

Something I was personally happy about: a little minari comes as a default side! These days plenty of BBQ places charge extra for minari, so having some included from the start was nice. Minari lightly cooked in pork belly fat is fragrant and crisp, and it pairs really well with the frozen pork belly. If the default amount isn't enough, extra minari is ₩3,000. If you love minari, adding it from the start wouldn't be a bad call!

![Minari cooked in pork belly fat](https://img.superchart.com/images/dasan-station-frozen-pork-belly-samsami-set/dasan-station-frozen-pork-belly-samsami-set-13-z9xjf-900.webp)

Frozen pork belly can have a cheap-meat image, but here the meat quality was solid — good and savory with no off smell.

![Frozen pork belly turning golden-brown on the grill](https://img.superchart.com/images/dasan-station-frozen-pork-belly-samsami-set/dasan-station-frozen-pork-belly-samsami-set-14-exinn-900.webp)

![Frozen pork belly with crispy edges](https://img.superchart.com/images/dasan-station-frozen-pork-belly-samsami-set/dasan-station-frozen-pork-belly-samsami-set-15-14k6g-900.webp)

I prefer frozen pork belly not too moist — I like cooking it until the edges get slightly golden-brown. It's thin, so the fat renders quickly, and that moment when the edges go a little crispy is genuinely tasty. You can lay several slices on at once since they cook fast, so you end up grilling and eating nonstop haha.

## Eungbong cheonggukjang, 8,000 won with rice included

It felt like a waste to end with just meat, so we also ordered the Eungbong cheonggukjang for ₩8,000.

![Eungbong cheonggukjang served in an earthenware pot](https://img.superchart.com/images/dasan-station-frozen-pork-belly-samsami-set/dasan-station-frozen-pork-belly-samsami-set-16-mdspr-900.webp)

And the cheonggukjang comes with rice included. No need to order rice separately, so it's a good price for a meal item too.

![Rice served alongside the cheonggukjang](https://img.superchart.com/images/dasan-station-frozen-pork-belly-samsami-set/dasan-station-frozen-pork-belly-samsami-set-17-vaz72-900.webp)

Eating frozen pork belly and then having a hot spoonful of cheonggukjang — that's the real Korean BBQ ending haha. The rich funk of the cheonggukjang broth cut through the greasiness of the pork belly perfectly. With rice included, you can also save a few pieces of meat to eat with the rice. If you like the distinctive smell of cheonggukjang, I'd recommend ordering it as a side.

## Is the Samsami set enough for two? Final verdict on Eungbongjip

![Final table spread with meat and cheonggukjang together](https://img.superchart.com/images/dasan-station-frozen-pork-belly-samsami-set/dasan-station-frozen-pork-belly-samsami-set-18-1vvzd-900.webp)

Eungbongjip Dasan Station Branch was a solid pick when we wanted frozen pork belly near Dasan Station. We went with the Samsami set of 3 servings of pork belly, which was plenty for two people eating a full meal, and adding the Eungbong cheonggukjang with rice for ₩8,000 at the end made it feel like a proper meal. Above all, the banchan lineup was strong — from the pudding-soft steamed egg to minari, radish kimchi and cabbage kimchi — and dipping the frozen pork belly in the egg yolk soy sauce was genuinely delicious. The restaurant is clean, close to Dasan Station, and has parking, so it's easy to visit after work for a drink or with family for frozen pork belly. Next time I want to try Kkotsami or Samkkoti and compare the flower neck meat too instead of just sticking with pork belly.

> From the pudding-soft steamed egg to minari and the egg yolk soy sauce, the banchan really delivered. Great value frozen pork belly near Dasan Station with the Samsami set — Eungbongjip!
