It’s summer, so the weather is hot, and whenever I go outside I can feel my scalp turning red. I’ve always tended to have a lot of heat in my scalp, so I regularly got scalp clinics at hair salons, but I thought it might be more effective to visit somewhere specializing in scalp care—so off I went for scalp care in Dongtan!!

## Haru Dupi Dongtan 1st Branch at Dongtan Paragon

The place I visited for scalp care in Dongtan was Haru Dupi Dongtan 1st Branch (하루두피 동탄1점). It’s easy to find if you come to the Dongtan Paragon mixed-use complex.

It’s on Basement Level 1 of Building 102, right next to the lottery shop, so I found it right away!!

## Why I felt I needed scalp care

Since the scalp isn’t something visible like hair, I used to wonder whether I really needed scalp care. But after getting scalp care in Dongtan that day, I properly realized that taking good care of your scalp helps protect your hair too.

Haru Dupi Dongtan 1st Branch was neatly decorated and well maintained too! The director personally welcomed me and was so kind that I still remember it.

I could even feel for myself that my scalp had a lot of heat, so I thought I really needed to try scalp care at least once. My stress levels have been no joke lately, and I think that has been making my scalp feel even hotter.

## Scalp diagnosis, then Fatigue Recovery Haru Care

Haru Dupi has a variety of programs. Its core programs include Pore Spa, Hydrating Scalp Renewal, Hair Root Renewal, Fatigue Recovery Haru Care, and Volume Hair-Loss Care. Since it was my first visit, I decided to have a scalp diagnosis and consultation, then go with what they recommended!! It seems like many people visit with concerns about scalp flakes or irritation too.

They also prepared a hibiscus drink for me to have during the consultation. They said drinking it while getting the spa treatment helps with blood circulation, haha. During the scalp consultation, I was able to see the condition of my scalp with my own eyes. Even though I was only there for a scalp consultation, time flew by. They explained everything in such detail for 30 minutes..!!

I changed into the gown Haru Dupi prepared and decided to get the Fatigue Recovery Haru Care! Since scalp issues don’t necessarily show on the outside, I think it’s really important to get dedicated care.

This is the Haru Dupi treatment room where I received my care. It’s a space for just one person, so I could enjoy a private head spa in Dongtan.

I could also look around at the shampoos and mists sold at Haru Dupi. They said the shampoos used in the shop and the ones for sale are the same products with the same ingredients! That makes them easy to trust, right? Haha.

## From neck and shoulder massage to scaling

After the scalp diagnosis and consultation, it was time to begin the treatment!! This care included a scalp massage. I started with a lymphatic circulation massage. They worked on loosening the tight muscles around my neck and shoulders, and wow, they really know what they’re doing here..👍🏻 I tend to hold a lot of tension, so I was quite stiff, but it felt like everything loosened right up.

Getting scaling after the scalp lymphatic circulation massage really does feel different. It was so refreshing, hahaha. Honestly, since it was a scalp-care place, I wasn’t expecting much from the massage, but I was extremely satisfied even after just one session.

Before cleansing the scalp, they also soften it first!! The same goes when washing your hair—if you soften the scalp first, you can cleanse it more thoroughly. I was getting so sleepy, haha.

I also drank hibiscus tea during the treatment. They said it’s an antioxidant tea brewed with hydrogen water, for maintaining skin elasticity and helping prevent indigestion too.

For the scalp cleansing, they washed my hair with a peppermint scent to cool down the heat, and I could really tell the shampoo was good. They also gave me a warming pack to keep my stomach nice and warm.

## What changed after one session—and signing up for a package

After experiencing scalp care near Dongtan Station myself, I could clearly see an improvement after just one session, and it made me think it would be great to keep it up. In the end, I signed up for a limited package that includes one-on-one customized nutrition and home-care coaching.

I took photos after the fatigue-recovery scalp care, and so much of the redness in my scalp had gone down. I learned for the first time that simply having good lymphatic circulation is good for your scalp, haha. It was recovery from fatigue, sure, but my scalp had also been red because I’ve been under a lot of stress. I got a proper hour of healing in. After experiencing it myself, I understood why scalp care is necessary.
