Today's just one of those crummy-feeling days. I guess if there are good days, there have to be bad ones too. What do you all do to shake off a bad mood?!! My head gets full of thoughts and I don't want to think about it anymore lol, but then I end up thinking about it more anyway... make up your mind, brain!!! lol

Anyway, that day I was torn between spicy tteokbokki and Chinese food, and ended up at Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong's Namgwangjang branch in Dongtan, a hangover-cure Chinese restaurant! It's jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) loaded with cockles, and you can even choose your spice level, so it's a place where you can nurse a hangover with proper heat.

## Where is Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong in Dongtan, and where do you park?

Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong's Namgwangjang branch sits right behind the Namgwangjang public parking lot. Obviously, park at the public lot!! Whenever I head to Namgwangjang or Bukgwangjang, the public parking lot is definitely the most convenient option haha.

As you get closer to the shop, there's a huge photo of jjamppong out front. Just looking at the picture you can tell it's a spicy, rich bowl. There's also a photo of cold jjamppong, which must be popular in summer haha.

The Dongtan Namgwangjang branch of this Chinese restaurant is open from 10:40 AM to 9:00 PM, with no separate break time in between. It's closed for the Chuseok holiday from September 24 to 26. Keep that in mind!

## A full dining room, solo window seats and kids' chairs

Wow, walking into Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong Dongtan Namgwangjang Branch, I was surprised to find the place completely full of customers!! Jjamppong, jajangmyeon, and tangsuyuk really are dishes everyone loves, no dislikes at all.

On one side there were kids' chairs and disposable aprons available. Takeout is possible too, by the way! Near the window there were also seats set up for comfortable solo dining. Chinese restaurants are basically level 0 for eating alone haha — totally fine to go solo for a hangover fix!! Alright, let me grab a seat and look at the menu.

Here's the menu and prices at Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong Dongtan Namgwangjang Branch. The menu is really simple!

Oh! And there's a separate kids' jajangmyeon! A regular bowl might be a bit much for kids, so it's nice that there's a dedicated menu item for that. It's priced at half the regular jajangmyeon, ₩4,000.

By the way, you can choose your spice level for the jjamppong. There's a basic level up through level 4, so pick whatever heat you like! Also, jjamppong rice apparently comes with a small amount of noodles too.

## The self-service corner and the two bowls ordered

At the self-service corner, you can grab scissors, side plates, pickled radish, and onions yourself!! They do serve the pickled radish and onions to your table at first, though.

And ta-da!!! Our order arrived! Here's what I ordered at Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong Dongtan Namgwangjang Branch — cockle jjamppong and jajangmyeon. I thought about adding tangsuyuk too but decided to keep it moderate that day haha. This is really the strength of Chinese restaurants — the food comes out fast. Perfect for someone impatient like me haha. Let me show you each dish below!

## How hot is level 2 cockle jjamppong? Hotter than Shin Ramyun

First up is the cockle jjamppong at Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong Dongtan Namgwangjang Branch. I ordered mine at spice level 2!! The jjamppong was loaded with quite a lot of shellfish, cockles included! There was meat in there too.

I loved that the shells were already removed haha. There was also wood ear mushroom and vegetables, so there's a nice variety of ingredients. Level 2 heat was about as spicy as Shin Ramyun!! If only I'd had more room, I'd have mixed rice into it too!!!

## Jajangmyeon at Bultina: sweet and textbook-classic

Next up is the jajangmyeon at Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong Dongtan Namgwangjang Branch. I always cut the noodles once before mixing haha. Is everyone team jjamppong or team jajangmyeon?!!!

The jajangmyeon here is exactly the textbook version of sweet jajangmyeon! I usually sprinkle red pepper flakes on it, but since the jjamppong was already spicy that day, I ate the jajangmyeon plain! I kept eating pickled radish in between bites too.

In the end I cleaned both bowls and headed out haha. I hadn't actually had drinks the night before, but if I'm ever looking for a hangover-cure Chinese spot in Dongtan, I'll definitely be back to Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong at Namgwangjang!
