## In short

Hamdon Baegot is a Jeju-style aged pork Korean BBQ restaurant on the first floor of the Purple building at Avenuefrance in Baegot, Siheung. The writer ordered one serving each of 504-aged special pork neck and cross-aged pork belly to compare side by side, alternating bites with minari wraps, nine side dishes, complimentary gomtang, doenjang hotpot with pork rib, and mul-naengmyeon. A fun Siheung Korean BBQ spot for mixing and matching flavors with your meat.

I went to Baegot for some Korean BBQ at Hamdon Baegot. It had that Jeju feel all over it, tons of side dishes, and the meat was delicious — no wonder there were so many customers! Total hit spot 👍

## The wait and the vibe inside

You could really feel how popular this place is from the CatchTable waitlist screen and the huge waiting area. By the time we finished eating, people were already waiting for a table!

![Busy waiting area at Hamdon Baegot](https://img.superchart.com/images/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap-05-lpqjk-900.webp)

I wanted to get shots of the interior too... but there were so many customers when we visited. I didn't want too many other diners showing up in the photos, so I skipped the interior shots 😂

It really was busier than I expected once we got inside, and since it was mealtime, most of the tables were full.

And instead of ordering directly with staff, you order through a kiosk.

## What we ordered between the two of us

Here's what we ordered:

- 504-aged special pork neck 160g ₩17,000
- Cross-aged pork belly 160g ₩17,000
- Doenjang hotpot with pork rib ₩6,000
- Mul-naengmyeon ₩8,000
- 2 servings of red yeast rice

Looking at the menu, there were several kinds of meat, but since it was our first visit, we decided to order one each of pork neck and pork belly to compare.

## Grilled by staff from the first sear onward

![Aged pork being seared on the grill](https://img.superchart.com/images/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap-10-cu1y1-900.webp)

One thing that made Hamdon Baegot so easy was that staff grill the meat for you starting from the first sear! Once we ordered, a staff member grilled it for us, so we didn't have to worry about doneness — just eat.

This was especially nice for a thicker cut like pork neck, where it's sometimes hard to judge how done it should be — they grilled it to just the right point, so we could dig into well-cooked meat right away.

### 🥩 504-aged special pork neck

![504-aged special pork neck, 160g](https://img.superchart.com/images/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap-12-1ephw-1200.webp)

According to the menu, this is aged using a low-temperature immersion method that locks in the juices, making it more tender and flavorful.

Tasting it, even though it was pork neck, it wasn't dry at all — I enjoyed chewing into the thick cut, and it paired nicely with the side dishes served alongside.

### Cross-aged pork belly

![Cross-aged pork belly, 160g](https://img.superchart.com/images/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap-14-vi2zu-900.webp)

The pork belly, with both fat and lean meat together, definitely had a different appeal from the pork neck.

If you're visiting as a pair like us, I'd recommend ordering one serving each of pork neck and pork belly and alternating between them, rather than getting multiple servings of just one.

## The most memorable part: minari wraps

![Minari wrap eaten with the meat](https://img.superchart.com/images/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap-16-1qm33-900.webp)

Personally, what stuck with me most at Hamdon Baegot was the minari (water parsley) wrap.

Unlike a typical BBQ spot where you wrap the meat in lettuce, here you could eat it with minari instead. Putting a piece of minari on top of the meat added that distinctive minari aroma, and it felt completely different from eating the meat on its own.

## Nine side dishes and complimentary gomtang

![Sign explaining the side dishes](https://img.superchart.com/images/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap-17-mzpmn-900.webp)

As we ate and looked over the menu, I noticed the side dishes were quite varied too.

![Spread of side dishes including green onion salad and salted shrimp](https://img.superchart.com/images/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap-18-5sk4h-900.webp)

Green onion salad, pickled young radish, barley ssamjang (soybean paste dip), Maldon salt, baek-kimchi (white kimchi), shiitake wasabi, mustard vegetable salad, salted shrimp (melchi-jeot), and chili peppers with garlic

Rather than dipping into just one sauce the whole time, it was fun to switch it up — salt this time, minari next, wasabi after that.

![Complimentary gomtang served with the side dishes](https://img.superchart.com/images/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap-19-1m4gd-900.webp)

The gomtang (bone broth soup) that came with the side dishes was more satisfying than I expected. Since it was complimentary, I didn't expect much, but I was surprised by how generous the amount of meat inside was.

![Complimentary gomtang packed with meat](https://img.superchart.com/images/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap-20-9k890-900.webp)

![Broth and meat in the gomtang](https://img.superchart.com/images/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap-21-1rhoj-900.webp)

The broth was hot and packed with meat, enough that this gomtang alone could've finished off a bowl of rice for me! We'd ordered meat, but getting a soup dish like this included as standard made the whole spread feel even more generous.

## Doenjang hotpot with pork rib + red yeast rice

![Doenjang hotpot with pork rib served alongside red yeast rice](https://img.superchart.com/images/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap-22-cu92j-900.webp)

Eating meat wouldn't be complete without rice and stew, so we also ordered doenjang hotpot with pork rib and red yeast rice.

![Doenjang hotpot with pork rib and tofu](https://img.superchart.com/images/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap-23-1ohxn-m-900.webp)

According to the menu, this doenjang hotpot is made with black pork belly broth, traditional homemade doenjang (soybean paste), and tofu. Eating meat alongside a spoonful of rice and the hotpot was, as expected, a great combo!

The red yeast rice looked different from regular white rice, which caught my eye at first, but it went down easily alongside the meat and doenjang hotpot.

## Finishing with mul-naengmyeon

![Mul-naengmyeon ordered to finish the meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap/hamdon-baegot-pork-belly-minari-wrap-24-8jmld-900.webp)

At the end, we also ordered mul-naengmyeon (cold noodle soup). After all that meat, finishing off with cool naengmyeon hit the spot.

Pork neck → pork belly → doenjang hotpot and rice → mul-naengmyeon — by the end, the two of us walked out pretty stuffed.

## In summary

The meat itself was great at Hamdon Baegot, but what stuck with me most was being able to mix and match the minari wraps with all the different side dishes. In particular, ordering one each of pork neck and pork belly to eat side by side let us really feel the difference between the two, which was nice. If you like piling on extras while eating meat, this is a fun Baegot Korean BBQ spot to check out 👍
