I've kept a layered cut for over 3 years now, and without any upkeep it had turned into an absolute mess, haha. I wanted a change of pace, so I went to get a perm at Yeum Hair Bundang Jeongja Branch!

It's a 5-minute walk from Jeongja Station, so getting there by public transport was really convenient. It's right in front of my office, so I went after work. It's hard for office workers to get their hair done on weekdays, so having a salon this close to the office really matters.

My designer personally guided me in, and pulled a gown out of a clothes styler set up inside the salon. Oh, I had booked with head designer Haneul. This was the first salon I've ever seen with a clothes styler..!!! Getting personally guided through even these small details made me feel really taken care of 💛 It felt so good!!!

Getting a treatment at a salon usually takes three to four hours, right, so I'm someone who thinks the salon needs to be a comfortable space to stay in for a long time — and Yeum Hair passed with flying colors on that front.

There's a shampoo room tucked off to one side, and oh, there was also a head spa area! And the head spa even has a massage chair, so you can get a massage while getting your scalp treated. I wanted to get one too if I'd had time, but darn it.

## Build perm consultation and the before state of the 3-year layered cut

Head designer Haneul explained beforehand what kind of treatment would work best based on my head shape and face shape. Then, the build perm started!!

This is my before hair... haha. I'd let the layers grow out a lot but never had it maintained, so it was seriously messy 🥺 The designer touched the ends and said they were really damaged, ugh. But I'd had a clinic treatment the week before, so we skipped the clinic and just did the build perm! She looked at my hair and did a light cut. I only had the damaged ends trimmed, about 4cm.

### Drinks, snacks and the heat-processing waiting seats

While you wait, they bring you a drink and a simple snack too. I asked for an iced americano. Full points for thoughtfulness 💯

This is the space you move to for heat processing or clinic treatments. If you're bored, you can read one of the books set out by the window, and the full window view of trees outside gives a calming feeling..!!

I sat here diligently letting my hair set too, haha. Don't I kind of look like Beethoven? After the heat processing, it's off to the shampoo room for the neutralizer, and then it's done.

Before the blow-dry!!! At this point I still didn't know how it would turn out once dried, so I was nervous...

It's not common for the designer to blow-dry your hair themselves, and that was another touching point. Anyway, you all care about the after photos, right..! Here comes the after.

## How did the build perm look after, and would I go back to Yeum Hair?

Didn't the build perm turn out amazing..??? I was really so happy with it. It was exactly the style I wanted. I think the perm came out calm and clean!!

She carefully explained how to style it and I had a lot of requests, but she paid attention to every single one, which I loved, haha. She designed it carefully, considering my head shape and face shape in detail~ And during the shampoo, she kept rechecking the water temperature and making sure nothing was left unwashed, so I felt her thoroughness once again.

Above all, the perm outcome is what matters most, right — full marks!! If you're considering a build perm, I recommend designer Haneul, haha. 100% return visit intention!!
