This is the place we chose for our late-night snack on the first day of our Yeosu trip~ We took it back to our accommodation and ate it there, and it was seriously delicious. Details below!

This Yeosu sashimi shop is located in the Ungcheon Fishing Village Cooperative building, and if you keep walking straight ahead, you'll see the Uchangho signboard :) It was around sunset, so the walk there had a really nice, atmospheric feel! haha

The tank was full of the freshest fish and seafood, all caught by Uchangho themselves! They sell it directly before it would go to the day's auction — apparently if any stock is left over for more than 3 days, it goes straight to auction instead, so what they sell stays at peak freshness. Good good.

All the sashimi prices change based on that day's auction rates! Sea bass, red sea bream, flounder, ice porgy, sea squirt + sea cucumber, live squid/cuttlefish. Make sure to check stock and reserve ahead before visiting~ We were hoping for black porgy but sadly it was sold out, so we packed red sea bream instead!

Ta-da~~ Since we'd called ahead, they had it packed and ready right away with no waiting, so we could head back to our accommodation quickly haha

If we hadn't had our baby with us, sitting at one of those tables at the Ungcheon floating fish market for a drink with our sashimi would've been the perfect vibe haha. A bit of a shame, but back to the accommodation we went~

We packed the red sea bream. Put the baby to sleep, then sashimi and a drink haha

Instead of just plain vinegar-chili sauce, they gave us the four-sauce dipping set~~ Fresh wasabi + soy sauce + vinegar-chili sauce + ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste), all included — completely good good! I'm team ssamjang :)

So glossy and shiny~ Totally fresh red sea bream. Sliced at just the right thickness, not too thin or too thick. Visuals were amazing haha

The chewy texture was so good, and it was clean and mild-tasting — good good~ Dipping it in the vinegar-chili sauce, then soy sauce, then ssamjang made it even more delicious haha The drinks just kept flowing~
