I got my nails done at a salon for the first time in a while, ahead of a trip with my mom. I usually do my own nails at home, but since I had a trip coming up, I wanted something prettier and longer-lasting than what I could do myself.

So this time I visited Green Nail in Bansong-dong, Hwaseong. The art designs were varied, and best of all, the care and the whole procedure were handled so thoroughly that I left in a great mood. :)

Green Nail is located at 12 Dongtanbansong-gil, Dongtan-gu, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, Unit 103. Hours are Monday–Friday 11:00–20:30 and Saturday 11:00–18:30, closed Sundays. Green Nail is in Bansong-dong, Hwaseong. I drove there, and there was parking space behind the building, so it was easy to park and walk in. Once I came around to the front, the Green Nail storefront was right there, so it wasn't hard to find at all.

Inside, there's also an Onyulash eyelash perm service running alongside the nail salon, so if you want both nail and lash care done at once, it might be worth booking both together.

## Inside Green Nail: a bright salon with full glass windows

Even before stepping inside, I could see a variety of nail art samples through the window.

A lot of the nail salons I've been to before were tucked deeper inside buildings, so some felt a bit dim or didn't get much natural light. Green Nail, though, has a full glass storefront that lets sunlight pour straight in, so my first impression was bright and clean.

The interior was mostly white-toned and clean, with space for two guests to be worked on at once. There's also a separate space set up in the back for eyelash perms.

One thing I really liked about Green Nail was just how many nail colors they had.

There was a whole wall of color samples in the back, and going through them one by one, there were so many pretty shades that it actually made choosing harder. The art samples were varied too, so picking a design was genuinely fun.

Since I had a trip coming up, I wanted something a bit more special than usual, so I decided to go with this month's art.

Green Nail's basic gel manicure price isn't too intimidating to begin with, and this month's art was reasonably priced too. Depending on the design, you can also change the color, so I could tweak the overall mood exactly how I wanted.

I went back and forth between about three of this month's art designs before landing on my final choice.

It was a fairly glamorous design with heart dots, ribbon, magnetic gel, and glitter all worked in. Instead of the original color, I decided to swap it for gray magnetic gel.

I figured a calm gray with the magnetic gel's signature shimmer wouldn't be too flashy, but would still photograph well on the trip.

## Extending a broken nail and shaping almond nails

Before starting, she checked the condition of my nails carefully.

As it happened, one nail had snapped off, so we decided to extend the left index finger, while the rest were shaped into the almond shape I wanted.

My nails are naturally a bit uneven in length, and I loved how carefully she matched the length and shape across all of them so everything looked balanced overall.

The care during the process was really thorough too.

I tend to get some skin building up along the sides of my nails, and at previous salons that area was barely tidied up, which was a bit disappointing. Designer Yoonjin, though, cleaned up all around each nail one by one.

She was also really kind and kept checking in throughout to make sure nothing was uncomfortable, so the whole thing felt very relaxed. After such thorough care, the area around my nails looked tidier, and my nail beds even seemed a little longer and prettier — I loved that.

While painting the color and applying the stickers and ribbon design, she kept checking in to make sure I was happy with it.

Rather than just copying the design I'd picked exactly, she even suggested swapping in a ribbon that suited the actual color better. I could tell she was thinking about the finished look and adjusting little by little — I really liked that.

And finally, done! The gray magnetic gel had this glass-bead-like shimmer, and it looked even prettier in person.

I kept trying to capture it in photos, but the shimmer that shifts every time you move your hand — that signature magnetic gel effect — just doesn't fully come through in pictures, which was a bit of a shame.

With white and black dots, ribbon, white pearl, and the gray magnetic gel all layered together, it felt calm yet quietly glamorous. There was a cute touch to it too, and I liked it more the longer I looked. :)

Is it just me, or does getting your nails done really nicely make you stare at your hands all day?

Magnetic gel especially shifts its shimmer depending on the lighting, so I kept looking at it over and over. I only changed my nails, but it really did give me a proper mood boost before the trip.

Even while waiting a bit at a cafe, I snapped a few more photos — under the cafe lighting, the gray took on a whole different look, and it was even prettier. I'll have to keep it looking nice and take lots more photos before the trip.
