## Why we ended up at Omi Omi in Bukmyeon, Cheonan: the aquarium was closed

Omi Omi Sono Bell Main Branch is a handmade dumpling hot pot and kudzu naengmyeon (cold noodle) restaurant on Dongpyeong3-gil in Bukmyeon, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan. We'd originally set out for the Sangnok Resort aquarium in Cheonan, but only found out once we got there that it was closed for being a Sunday... so we went off to eat instead, ha.

As soon as we arrived, being right next to the Independence Hall made getting there super convenient, and there was plenty of parking space — great for a family visit!!

Walking inside, the mild, savory smell of the broth was so, so good >0<//// And the staff and owner greeted us with bright, friendly smiles, so I was in a good mood from the moment we sat down♥

## Ordering the handmade dumpling hot pot with mild basic broth

We ordered Omi Omi's signature dumpling hot pot without hesitation as soon as we sat down. Since we had a kid with us, we went with the basic broth. The owner offered to swap the kimchi dumplings for meat dumplings too, but I said it'd be fine and kept the kimchi dumplings, haha.

Whether it was a grandchild's or a son's, someone in the family draws really well, haha. It was fun looking at the artwork while we waited~

While waiting, I read Omi Omi's instructions too. You can choose between a mild broth and a spicy broth, and ordering the hot pot gets you unlimited refills of ramyeon noodles and sujebi, plus a free cold noodle dessert at the end!!

## Fist-sized steamed dumplings arrive first

The very first thing to arrive after ordering at Omi Omi was a fist-sized, giant steamed dumpling!!!

They give you these steamed dumplings to try before the hot pot even starts boiling, and the size alone is overwhelming!!!

Inside the thin, chewy dumpling skin, meat, vegetables, and tofu were packed in without a single gap, so the moment I bit into one!!!

A moist, clean burst of juice filled my mouth. Seriously amazing. The dumplings here are insane — so, so delicious!!!

## More meat than dumplings in Omi Omi's hot pot

The dumpling hot pot, generously loaded with meat

While we were still marveling over the steamed dumplings, the main dish — the dumpling hot pot — arrived, and the visual of it piled so high the pot looked ready to overflow made my jaw drop~~~~~

Fresh vegetables, dumplings, and a generous heap of meat were all bubbling away together!!

The moment I took a spoonful of the broth ㅠㅠㅠ wow, this broth is seriously, seriously delicious too ㅠㅠㅠ

Even though it's called a dumpling hot pot, the meat quality here is so good — savory and insanely tasty — that there's actually far more meat than dumplings, almost like shabu-shabu!!!

Meat, dumplings, shrimp, all kinds of vegetables~ an incredible variety of ingredients went in, and every single one of them was fresh!!

## Finishing with sujebi dough from the self-serve bar

Fishing out the dumplings, meat, and vegetables isn't the end of it. Time to add more broth~!!

At the self-serve bar set up on one side of the restaurant, you can grab sujebi dough and drop it into your hot pot.

Tear the chewy dough into the golden broth, deeply steeped with the essence of the meat and dumplings, boil it briefly, and the rich savory flavor seeps right into the dough.

There's none of that raw flour smell — just an artfully chewy texture, so even though my stomach was already packed, I ended up eating every last bite. Everyone at the table was patting their stomachs, shouting, 'Wow, that's really it! I'm going to burst, I can't eat any more!!'

## Free dessert naengmyeon, and why Omi Omi sells the broth separately

Right at that moment, the owner, who'd been happily watching our table, came over and said something warm...

> Cold noodles are free here too! Just try one bowl. It's small, you can do it!

Unable to refuse the owner's friendly suggestion, I took the dessert naengmyeon just to try a taste. But the moment I took a sip of the broth, my eyes went wide!!!

The naengmyeon broth, topped with a thin layer of ice, was deep and clean with a tangy-sweet savoriness... wow, it was seriously, seriously delicious. Even with my stomach ready to split, it washed everything down cool and refreshing,

and I instantly understood why the menu board lists the naengmyeon broth as something you can buy separately — it made complete sense within a single second. Who knew I'd find the naengmyeon of my life at a dumpling hot pot restaurant!!

And when they even give you coffee and candy for dessert — oh man, perfect, just perfect!!

The clean, hygienic restaurant management, the owner's overflowing warmth and kindness, and the unmatched skill running from the hot pot all the way to the naengmyeon broth — everything was top-notch, without a single disappointment. A place I'd be completely satisfied bringing my parents to next time!!!
