I recently visited The Nillai in Yangchon, Gimpo. There are so many large cafés in Gimpo these days that I went in expecting just a big, photogenic space. But after leaving, what I actually ate stuck with me more than the space did haha. So let's take a look at what kind of place it is~?

## The Nillai hours & parking

### The Nillai hours

Weekdays 10:00–20:00, weekends until 21:00. The weekday brunch menu has a break time of 15:30–16:30.

If you're planning to have brunch, definitely check this time before you go. Because... I got caught right in it ㅠhaha. Hours can change, so check the latest info before your visit.

The Nillai is fairly close to Yangchon Station, and there's a large parking area in front of the building, so it was convenient to drive there.

Going down to the G floor and stepping inside, the ceiling height really gives it a sense of space. The seats weren't crammed together either, and lush green scenery through the floor-to-ceiling windows kept it from feeling stuffy. It seemed like a good spot for catching up with friends, a date, a family outing, or a group gathering.

There's also a media art space inside, which gives you an extra bit of fun beyond just grabbing a coffee and leaving. Since the visuals keep changing, it makes for good photos too, and watching it for a bit felt like getting a small exhibition along with my café visit haha.

The Nillai is known to be run by Chef 63, so honestly I had pretty high expectations for the meal menu that day too.

I saw pizza, pasta and risotto on the menu and thought, "I could just have a meal here and then get coffee too," but of course, it was exactly break time... the timing was just impeccable 😂

So in the end I picked bakery items and drinks instead of a meal. The bakery selection wasn't huge, and when I visited, the bread was actually running out faster than I expected ㅠ There were already quite a few empty spots when I got there, so if you want to see a wider variety of bakery items, I'd recommend going a bit earlier.

## But the bread was genuinely delicious!!

That day I tried a croissant, a cream-filled pastry and other desserts along with a drink. After the first bite I immediately thought, "Wait, the bread here is really good?" Some large cafés have a gorgeous space and vibe, but the food itself can end up feeling pretty average.

Every single piece of bread was good enough that my hand kept reaching for more even when I was full, and in terms of flavor alone, this ranks number one among every café I've been to so far. Actually, eating this bread made me think, "If the bread is this good, the meal menu must be great too," which made it even more disappointing that I missed brunch. Next time I want to properly avoid the break time and try the meal menu as well.

## Would I go back to The Nillai, Gimpo's big bakery café?

The Nillai wasn't just a large Gimpo café known for its size — the food itself was satisfying too. Parking was easy, the space was spacious, and there was even media art to look at. The bread ran out fast when I visited, and it was a shame I couldn't have a meal because of the break time, but in terms of bread flavor alone, it's number one among every café I've been to! So next time, instead of going for photos, this has become a place I want to go back to for brunch!
