Is monsoon season back again in late August? It's been cloudy and rainy for days straight ㅠㅠ Days are still hot, leaves are falling, crickets are chirping, and I've got zero energy or appetite from the heat! After surviving the sweltering summer, cooking dinner felt like such a chore! haha

Wanted to take a little neighborhood outing and there was also something to check out at Siheung Premium Outlets, so the moment my husband got off work we went full speed there. Only a 10-minute drive, such a convenient outlet-adjacent life^^

Since the renovation last time, there's now a huge Daiso and even more to see at Siheung Premium Outlets-! Last year I barely went because of the heat, but this year I've stopped by quite a few times :-)

Pyeongi Dambaek Bone Kalguksu Siheung Premium Outlets is located inside the TASTE VILLAGE food zone on the 1st floor of Siheung Premium Outlets (Cynthia). Hours are 10:30–20:30, same as the outlet's operating hours, and you can use the outlet's parking lot for free.

There are quite a lot of restaurants on the 1st floor of Cynthia~ If you're craving kalguksu with rich broth, head over to the pleasant TASTE VILLAGE food zone. ^^

I visited on a weekday evening so it was relatively uncrowded, though it might get a bit tight on weekends and holidays? But there are plenty of tables and quick turnover, so families or couples should be able to find a seat fast! Having no parking worries with such a spacious lot makes it super accessible for a family meal out.

The signature dish is definitely bone kalguksu, but you can also try bibim kalguksu, perilla oil kalguksu, dumplings, and suyuk — great for dining out with kids. There's also a fiery spicy soup, which is extremely my thing ^.^ / Cooking starts right when you order, and you pick up your food when the buzzer rings. Eating out with a kid usually comes with a lot to worry about, but the table spacing here is comfortable and high chairs are well stocked.

## What comes in the bone kalguksu + tender gabrisal suyuk set (one-person set)?

Pyeongi Dambaek Bone Kalguksu has a set where you get suyuk alongside a bone kalguksu single dish ♡ If you love meat, this is a no-brainer pick, right?

Even after finishing all the noodles, there was still quite a bit of broth left, and it was so delicious I wished I could order a bowl of rice — but it seems they don't sell plain rice separately, which was a bit disappointing haha (didn't actually ask though lol)

It looks clear but the meat broth is incredibly rich~ Fluffy shredded yellow egg garnish piled up like a mountain, which stirred up the salivary glands even more. Inside the bowl was a chunk of bone the size of an adult fist, and the meat was so tender it fell right off with just a touch of the chopsticks.

The noodles were chewy and springy, soaking up the broth beautifully — deep, rich flavor with no gamy smell at all!! Our 3rd-grader took one sip of the broth and went 'ooh~' before diving in face-first! Of course this is a phase where she eats really well, but she genuinely loves the noodle-and-broth combo lol, exactly as expected. A taste that wins over even kids' palates — living up to its name as a Siheung kalguksu favorite ♥

The gabrisal suyuk that came with the set was, as you can see in the photos, super tender and springy~ with a rich fattiness. Melt-in-your-mouth tender, that's the word. haha The ratio of fat to lean meat was perfect — it melted softly with the juices the moment it hit my mouth, and topped with the sauce and garlic chili, it just disappeared. lol

The basic side dish, geotjeori (fresh cabbage kimchi), was also crunchy with clean seasoning, and the chili pepper side dish was really tasty. The dipping sauce for the meat was a nice touch too!^^

## How spicy is the spicy bone soup rice at Pyeongi Dambaek?

Pyeongi Dambaek's spicy bone rice soup was a bit spicier than Shin Ramyun. My spice-wimp husband ate it dripping with sweat, while as someone who loves spicy food, this was hands down my pick.

This one was totally my pick :-) Truly punchy and spicy ^^ Fighting fire with fire~ It's still hot out, so sweating it out with something this spicy is the way to go-! The tangy chili flakes combined with the smoky spice give you this refreshing, gut-clearing feeling. First I picked off all the meat from the big chunk of bone, then didn't even mix in rice — just scooped up spoonful after spoonful of broth, pure happiness!! It felt like all the fatigue from shopping just melted away, right? haha

## Bibim kalguksu: why the soybean flour is the kicker

Wow — chewy noodles paired with a spicy, savory seasoned sauce! It doesn't even get soggy like typical thin noodles~ so even eating slowly later on, the chewiness stayed alive, which I loved.

The savory minced meat and bean flour were the kicker!! That generously sprinkled bean flour was so nutty it made the sauce stickier and cling better to the noodles, genuinely delicious. Alternating with the bone kalguksu's rich meat broth, it was an endless sweet-and-salty combo I couldn't stop eating!

Just as we were finishing our delicious meal, I spotted a fun promotion on the sign in front of the store! Participate in a Naver Map receipt review and you get cool, refreshing Yomamttae ice cream. We'd ordered 3 menu items so they wanted to give us 3, but I declined and just took 2, one each for my kid and her dad haha

Getting dessert on top of a delicious dinner made for a perfect ending! Walking out to the outlet's outdoor plaza with a refreshing, sweet Yomamttae ice cream in hand, the cool night breeze made the hot summer night feel genuinely fun and romantic. My daughter took her ice cream and stuck her tongue out first before even saying thanks lol
