I wanted a bit of atmosphere on an ordinary weekday lunch, so I went to Andover, a brunch spot known as a Pangyo favorite. It's also known for being recommended by actor Ryu Seung-ryong, so I had high expectations before I even got there.

Ordering was easy through the QR code on the table. It was nice being able to order while chatting comfortably without having to flag down staff.

The self-bar was kept tidy too, so grabbing water or extra dishes was easy. The tables were spaced generously, so we could chat comfortably without worrying about the next table over.

There were a lot of unfamiliar menu items so we agonized over the choices, but once it arrived the combination turned out great.

I honestly expected the cod gratin with grilled vegetables to taste fishy, but one bite in, it was clean and savory, and my spoon kept going back for more.

It wasn't too salty and had just the right level of spice, so I finished it happily without getting sick of it. It was a pasta you could enjoy comfortably with no fishy-taste worries.

The burrata tomato salad's cheese was soft yet chewy, and it was heavenly the whole way through.

Salads I've had before usually come with a sauce so sour it makes your eyes squint, but this one wasn't that tart. It actually tasted even better for it.

The Galvanina Italian organic soda was pleasantly tart with just the right amount of fizz, great for cleansing the palate between bites.

It wasn't too sweet or too flat — a perfect balance that had me sipping it continuously. The glass was pretty too, so I kept picking it up.

Every single item, even the pickles, was delicious. Nothing was overly seasoned, and it all felt healthy, so I just kept eating.
