I was shopping at Starfield Suwon and got tired, looking for somewhere to rest — that's how I ended up here! Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters Starfield Suwon Branch.

Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters is so famous in Suwon that I already knew about their Haenggung-dong branch, but I didn't know they had a location in Starfield too!! It's on the 2nd floor near Gourmet Street, so it was nice to stop by when I was craving coffee mid-shopping.

I usually love coffee, so when I go to a café I tend to check out the types of beans and coffee flavor carefully — as soon as I walked in, the variety of beans on display caught my eye. With beans displayed so nicely, it really felt like I'd arrived at an actual coffee spot 🤭 ☕️

There was a wide variety of beans, so you could pick based on your taste. What I especially liked was that pregnant customers can switch to decaf coffee for free! 🤰🏻🤎 During pregnancy caffeine is always a concern, so this kind of service is such a relief for pregnant coffee lovers. I really appreciated this thoughtful touch :)

## What's on the dessert menu?

There were more dessert options than I expected! Desserts were displayed by the counter, and it wasn't easy to just walk past them.

When I visited, they had

- Fig cake
- Fruit sandwiches
- Lamington cookies
- Madeleines

— several kinds of cakes and baked goods. I was especially drawn to the fig cake that day; figs are subtly sweet, so it seemed like it would pair well with coffee's bitterness. And it's fig season right now!!

The fruit sandwiches had such pretty colors that I kept glancing at the showcase 🤤 I had dinner plans so I held off on dessert, but soft bread with cream and refreshing fruit, paired with coffee, seemed like it would be delicious..☁️🧁💗

There were also baked goods like Lamington cookies and madeleines that are easy to grab lightly — good options for days when a whole cake feels like too much. Plus they'd make nice gifts!!

## Is there seating for solo visitors?

Something I quietly consider important when checking out a café is whether there's seating for solo visitors — this place had bar-style seats good for sitting alone, plus table seating further inside. So it seemed fine to stop by for a quick coffee even if you came shopping alone. I especially liked that the layout didn't make sitting alone feel awkward.

On the other hand, there were also tables for 3-4 people for when you come with friends, so it worked fine for group visits too. (It was crowded so it was hard to take photos, sorry ㅜ) It's not a huge, sprawling café, but thinking of it as a spot to rest briefly inside Starfield, the space felt cozy.

## How was the americano?

I ordered an americano! The coffee leaned nutty and heavy rather than light and bright. Instead of a harsh, burnt bitterness, the nutty flavor balanced it out nicely. Jeong Jiyeong coffee never disappoints!!🤗🤍

☕️ There are so many cafés at Starfield Suwon, but when you're shopping and thinking, "I want an actual good coffee, not just another chain," Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters is a solid choice. If you prefer nutty and heavy coffee over light, acidic styles, start with the americano. There's seating for solo visitors and tables for 3-4 people, so you can pick based on how many people you're with. And even though I didn't eat a single dessert that day, I still stood in front of the showcase agonizing for a while... next time I'm not making the mistake of ordering just an americano haha!

Six hours is quite generous for shopping, eating, and enjoying a leisurely café stop.
