Parking near the ballpark is tough, so at least while you’re eating, you want it to be easy!! Hwadeogeuro Gan Godeungeo is on the second floor. Just take the stairs up to the second floor! It’s newly opened, so the restaurant was super pleasant! Clean, neat interior! It was spacious too, with lots and lots of seats~ Most were roomy tables for four or more, so I think it would be great for families ◡̈ There are window seats with a nice view too ◡̈ The place was incredibly clean! I visited on a weekday evening, but there were lots of people—maybe word had already spread that it’s one of Suwon’s good spots. From miyeokguk (seaweed soup) and sungnyung (scorched-rice tea) to japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), fried items, and sausage, you can add all kinds of side dishes! My top pick was this tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes)! Being able to have tteokbokki at a great Korean restaurant too... that’s just the best! It wasn’t overly spicy, just nicely spicy! Perfect for anyone missing home-cooked food, haha. There was a bibimbap station too, so I brought back plenty of namul vegetables and seasoned shredded radish. Highly recommend the bibimbap! Even after eating a bowl of rice, mixing it with sesame oil was seriously delicious. Even with just the basic sides and grilled fish, the whole table was full. The mackerel was grilled beautifully—crispy outside and moist inside! It can make the house smell and feels hard to attempt at home, so I’m so happy there’s a fish-grill specialty restaurant. It was nicely moist, cleanly deboned, and really easy to eat! Pick the meat neatly and place it over rice, and it’s such a rice thief. The mackerel was moist and tender too, with the bones removed well, which I loved. Even after polishing off a bowl of rice, I couldn’t pass up the bibimbap—and that was truly an excellent choice!
