With a seafood-specialty restaurant, you might assume the place will be a little hectic because of moisture or smells. But once I went in, it was much more neatly maintained than I expected, so I had a great first impression. The tables and surrounding areas were clean too, and overall it had a relaxed atmosphere where you could enjoy a meal comfortably. Food matters to me, of course, but hygiene and how well a restaurant is maintained are also quite important when I choose one, and I was happy on that front. Especially at a place serving seafood, I think upkeep is important because of the nature of the food, and this one felt well cared for. That day, we ordered the small steamed-clam platter and seafood ramen. I really wanted grilled clams too, but I wanted seafood with warm broth that day, so we chose the steamed clams. I think the biggest advantage of steamed clams is getting to eat so many kinds of seafood at once. It’s fun picking out each clam, and you can enjoy the broth too, so it works nicely as a drinking snack or a meal. And the part I remember most from that day! The staff were so kind. When restaurant staff are friendly, it may seem like a small thing, but it makes you feel good throughout the meal, doesn’t it? The service here was kind, and it was easy to ask about anything we needed, which was great. With seafood dishes, there are times when you don’t quite know how to eat them or what is included, but the staff explained everything comfortably, so we could eat without any pressure. No matter how delicious the food is, unfriendly service can make you hesitate to return. It’s a dish you absolutely cannot leave out when eating seafood! After the steamed clams, I naturally started craving a spicy, warming broth. So we ordered seafood ramen, and really, it’s hard for seafood and ramen to be a bad combination. The flavors from the seafood enriched the ramen broth, making it feel different from ordinary ramen. Adding a brothy dish after the steamed clams was especially perfect for finishing the meal. If you love seafood, I think you should try the steamed clams + seafood ramen combination. At first, I wondered whether the small steamed-clam platter alone might be a little insufficient, but adding the seafood ramen made for a filling finish. And the ramen had a ton of seafood too! I usually dislike ramen like this when the flavor is too mild, but this one was properly spicy and delicious. Passed! In that respect, Bada Super Haemul Cheonha Jogaegui, Geobukseom Oido Branch was satisfying overall. We ordered the small steamed-clam platter and seafood ramen, and enjoying plenty of seafood with the steamed clams before finishing with seafood ramen made it a good meal. Above all, the staff treated us so kindly that we could eat comfortably without any inconvenience, and I liked the restaurant even more because it was clean. Eating delicious food is important, but I think a truly great restaurant is one that makes you feel, “I’d be happy to come back here.” In that sense, this visit was a very satisfying meal. I’ll remember it as a good place to visit when I’m craving seafood dishes such as grilled clams, steamed clams, or seafood ramen around Geobukseom or Oido.
