## In short

Dami Sik is a fusion Korean restaurant in Nueup-dong, Osan, serving stone-pot jjajang and pollack soup. We ordered the stone-pot jjajang and dongpo pork set, mixed the free rice into the sauce, and enjoyed the tender pork with wasabi. Verdict: a generously filling meal for two.

## Dami Sik near Osan Station: location and visitor information

The long-awaited autumn has arrived. It had been a while since I last had Chinese food. With the autumn breeze blowing, I suddenly wanted jjajang again after such a long time. I heard there was a great stone-pot jjajang place in Osan, so I made a Naver reservation and visited Dami Sik, a good restaurant in Nueup-dong. The great thing about reserving is not having to wait! I also loved that Dami Sik accepts reservations on weekends.

Dami Sik is a fusion Korean restaurant below the Segyo 2 District, near Osan Station on Subway Line 1, where you can enjoy stone-pot jjajang and dongtaetang (pollack soup) in one place.

There is a dedicated parking lot next to Dami Sik, so parking was easy. The sky was such an excitingly brilliant blue that day.

Dami Sik had a clean interior with a vibe unlike a typical Chinese restaurant. The lighting, wooden blinds, and little decor pieces gave it that feel. Since jjajang can easily splatter onto your clothes, the disposable aprons were so useful. With high chairs available, it is also a good place to eat with children.

## Ordering the stone-pot jjajang and dongpo pork set

You order at the table through T-order. Dami Sik’s signature dishes are stone-pot jjajang and dongtaetang, so every other table had to have either stone-pot jjajang or pollack soup. I debated getting the pollack soup, then ordered the stone-pot jjajang and dongpo pork set. I also wanted the spicy, tangy seasoned raw pollack, but it would have been too much for two, so I held back.

Dami Sik’s three basic side dishes are salad, pa-kimchi (green onion kimchi), and bean sprouts. They said the green onion kimchi tastes good with stone-pot jjajang, and it really was a nice pairing.

Thankfully, they gave us steamed dumplings on the house. Once you see this stone-pot jjajang, you simply cannot not eat it.

## Mixing rice into sizzling stone-pot jjajang

The stone-pot jjajang looks appetizing, but it also commands attention with its sizzling sound as it arrives. The staff mixed in the quail eggs and garlic chives while serving it, which made it easy to eat. The stone plate was completely full, so the portion was very generous. The stone-pot jjajang sauce was truly delicious.

A bowl of rice comes free with the stone-pot jjajang, and mixing the jjajang sauce into the rice was heavenly. There was such a generous amount of sauce that I could mix it with rice without running short.

## Dongpo pork with wasabi

It had been a long time since I had dongpo pork, after trying it on a trip to Taiwan. The meat was incredibly tender and gently melted in my mouth. After a few chews, the dongpo pork had practically disappeared in my mouth. Rather than eating it simply with the sauce, it was much tastier with wasabi. The wasabi’s sharp kick balanced the saltiness of the dongpo pork sauce—so good. It was fun to try it in different ways: with bok choy, or laid over white rice.

There was plenty of dongpo pork sauce, so I dipped the dumplings in it instead of soy sauce. The sauce was delicious, so naturally the dumplings were delicious dipped in it too. The stone-pot jjajang and dongpo pork set is a large portion, so it would probably be just right for three people. Two people can eat very, very full.

## Self-serve fried eggs and a prize-draw event

It is not written anywhere separately, but there is a self-serve corner where you can make fried eggs. Fried eggs over jjajang are delicious, right? Haha. We found it too late and did not get to have fried eggs, but fried eggs with jjajang are delicious, so definitely try them~!

As an event, if you add Dami Sik’s KakaoTalk channel, there is a nostalgic prize draw at checkout. Winners from first through fifth place receive discounts on meal vouchers for their next visit, so it was an event with two benefits: the discount and the fun of drawing.
