Last week my husband and I visited Gogit-ri 88beonji, famous for its outdoor patio seating in Gojan-dong, Ansan. This spot specializes in grade-1 domestic Korean pork, pre-grilled directly over charcoal, so you get to taste the meat's true flavor. Today I'm sharing our visit to Gogit-ri 88beonji, a great pork BBQ restaurant in Gojan-dong, Ansan for enjoying tasty pork in an outdoor atmosphere.

## Where is Gogit-ri 88beonji in Ansan, and where do you park?

This Gojan-dong pork belly favorite is located in the Olive Young alley on Munhwagwangjang-geori, in the Hosu-dong/Gojan-dong area, about 3 minutes by car from Gojan Station and Jungang Station — convenient if you're already searching for restaurants near Gojan Station or Jungang Station.

🅿️ Parking info — parking is available at Deoksan Parking Tower, with 2 hours free, which made it easy to visit by car.

## Inside the restaurant and the outdoor tables

The interior of Gogit-ri 88beonji is clean and spacious overall, so it looked like a good spot for group gatherings or company dinners. I also liked that folding doors span the front, giving it an open feel and good ventilation.

Once seated, we looked over the menu at this Gojan-dong pork belly favorite. It offers various à la carte cuts of grade-1 domestic Korean pork — neck, belly, gabrisal, hangjeongsal (pork jowl) — as well as several set menus, great for ordering when you want to try multiple cuts at once.

Once we ordered, a neat spread of basic side dishes and various dipping sauces arrived, all of which paired well with the pork, so we could enjoy lots of different combinations.

When you order meat, the owner pre-grills it directly over 600°C+ charcoal — thanks to that high heat, we got to properly taste pork packed with smoky char flavor!

What we ordered this time was the Gogit-ri Assorted A Set, made up of three cuts: pork belly, pork neck, and gabrisal.

First, following the owner's recommendation, we dipped the meat in Malden salt, famous as the salt of the British royal family — the juices stayed moist and the pork's natural flavor came through even more,

and next we tried it with pollack roe, and also dipped it in Jeju-style myeoljeot (fermented anchovy sauce) — the flavor shifted slightly depending on the sauce or side dish, which made it fun to enjoy in different ways.
