## In short

Gohobi Katsu is a Japanese pork cutlet restaurant in Suwon's Haenggung-dong area near Suwon Station, with every seat at a bar table for solo dining. The cordon bleu pork cutlet set had vegetables like carrot mixed into the cheese so it never got greasy, and dipping the cutlet into the free mini curry (given on request) was a great combo. A great pick for a relaxed solo lunch.

I've got a lot of solo lunches to get through these days, and I love Japanese pork cutlet. I saw photos of a pork cutlet place in Suwon Station's Haenggung-dong area and knew I had to try it — the "cordon bleu set" at [Gohobi Katsu] was seriously delicious!!! It's similar to cheese katsu but way tastier. I already want to eat it again. Truly satisfying. Let's get into the review.

## Gohobi Katsu location and basic info

## All bar-table seating, a solo-dining vibe

This place is built for solo dining — every seat is a bar table. I'd guess there are about 9 chairs. I visited outside the main rush, so it felt even more relaxed and comfortable. Most customers seemed to be dining alone, so it seemed like it'd stay quiet even during peak hours.

## Menu and prices

- 1. Start with the smaller pieces first, in order.
- 2. Try the first bite with the house-made salt to taste it in its purest form.
- 3. Mix the sauce with wasabi and eat it together.

## What's in the cordon bleu pork cutlet set

![The full cordon bleu set with rice and miso soybean paste soup](https://img.superchart.com/images/suwon-station-cordon-bleu-katsu-lunch/suwon-station-cordon-bleu-katsu-lunch-09-12swx-900.webp)

Along with the main dish came rice, miso soybean paste soup, sauce, and mini curry. The mini curry is a free extra, but you have to ask for it.

![Cabbage salad with two types of dressing](https://img.superchart.com/images/suwon-station-cordon-bleu-katsu-lunch/suwon-station-cordon-bleu-katsu-lunch-11-1364m-900.webp)

The cabbage salad comes with two dressing options — sesame sauce and apple-and-carrot sauce. The apple-and-carrot one was sweet and tangy, and honestly delicious!!! It cuts through the richness, so I'd recommend it.

### The cordon bleu taste — vegetables mixed into the cheese

This is the cordon bleu pork cutlet, a type of cheese katsu. It has vegetables including carrot mixed right into the cheese, and maybe because of the freshness of the vegetables, it was seriously delicious!!! With cheese-only versions you always end up feeling greasy by the last bite, but this one stayed delicious all the way through!!!

The pieces were cut in different shapes, and I wondered whether that was some kind of finishing step or just cut for easier eating. Either way, the breading had zero sogginess — genuinely crispy!! The regular sauce was already on the table, and a second, sweet-and-tangy ketchup-based sauce also came out. It paired really well too. Delicious!!

## The free mini curry

![Mini curry served in a rice-bowl-sized dish](https://img.superchart.com/images/suwon-station-cordon-bleu-katsu-lunch/suwon-station-cordon-bleu-katsu-lunch-19-1eabn-900.webp)

The mini curry came in a bowl about the size of a rice bowl. It had a slight spicy kick that made it even tastier!! Great with the rice, of course, but also great for dipping the cutlet!! When there's curry around, I honestly don't bother with the sauce.

## Wrapping up

![The cordon bleu set table after the meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/suwon-station-cordon-bleu-katsu-lunch/suwon-station-cordon-bleu-katsu-lunch-21-fxzms-900.webp)

This was my first time trying cordon bleu, and it was way tastier than regular cheese katsu. Genuinely delicious!!! Cheese katsu is usually good at first bite and greasy by the end, but this one was delicious from start to finish!!! If you're looking for a pork cutlet spot near Suwon Station in Haenggung-dong, great for lunch and solo dining, I highly recommend [Gohobi Katsu]!!!
