## In short

Yun Ujae Shabu Kalguksu Gogidong Branch is a shabu-kalguksu restaurant in Gogiri, Yongin, Gyeonggi. My family chose the red broth and enjoyed beef and vegetable shabu-shabu, followed by kalguksu noodles and fried rice. Verdict: the deepening broth makes this a particularly satisfying full-course meal.

As the weather turns cool, it naturally becomes the season for hot, comforting broth. This time, I visited Yun Ujae Gogiri Shabu Kalguksu with my family, and it was a place we were really satisfied with because we could enjoy a full course from meat and shabu-shabu to kalguksu and fried rice.

## Is parking convenient?

There is a spacious dedicated parking lot right in front of the restaurant, so it was convenient to come by car. The large sign is visible from the entrance, making it easy to find even on a first visit. The opening hours and break time are posted too, so it is worth checking before you go. It gets busy during weekend meal times, so keep the timing in mind if you want to avoid the crowds.

## Table ordering and the shabu-kalguksu set

Each table has a tablet, so ordering was easy. You can choose the broth you prefer: red broth (medium or spicy) or white broth (mild, medium, or spicy).

The per-person shabu-kalguksu price includes beef, mushrooms, minari (Korean water celery), kalguksu (knife-cut noodles), and fried rice, so it felt like great value. And it all looked so delicious.

## A generous shabu-shabu spread

As soon as we ordered, out came broth heaped with fresh vegetables, mushrooms, and minari, along with thinly sliced beef. Once it started boiling, we lightly cooked the beef before eating it; it was tender, clean-tasting, and free of any off smell. The gentle aroma of minari spread through the pot and made the broth feel even more refreshing. I think it is the kind of spread that people looking for shabu-shabu in Suji would be happy with.

## What is the red broth like?

I chose the red broth, and what impressed me was that it was not just spicy—it had a deep, rich flavor. As we kept adding beef and vegetables, the broth grew even richer, so it stayed delicious to the very end. Next time, I would like to try the white broth too.

## The crispy seafood pajeon is recommended too

The seafood pajeon (Korean scallion pancake) we ordered alongside it was better than expected too. It was truly crisp on the outside, with plenty of squid and seafood inside, giving it a great texture. It was nutty rather than greasy, so it paired perfectly with the shabu-shabu. Personally, I recommend ordering it whenever you visit.

## Using the self-service side-dish bar

It was convenient to take as much kimchi and kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), along with other side dishes, as we wanted from the self-service bar. It was kept neat and was easy to use without running short of anything.

## Finish with kalguksu and fried rice

After enjoying plenty of shabu-shabu, we added the kalguksu noodles. Since we ate them after the broth had fully developed, they had a much deeper flavor, and the noodles were wonderfully chewy. And of course, fried rice comes last.

The fried rice had absorbed all the savory flavor of the broth. It was nutty and delicious even where it had crisped onto the pan, so I kept eating until the end despite being full. The course of shabu-shabu → kalguksu → fried rice was so well put together that it made for a satisfying meal right to the finish.
