## In short

Jangsu Jjambbong Jeonmunjeom is a Chinese restaurant on Godeokbuk-ro in Godeok-myeon, Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi, serving Gobul Jjambbong and other jjambbong (spicy seafood noodle soup) alongside ganjjajang (stir-fried black bean noodles), fried rice and sweet and sour pork. A weekend lunch here brought ganjjajang at 10,000 won, shrimp fried rice at 10,000 won and a small sweet and sour pork at 15,000 won, with noodles that never went soggy and pork loin under a thin, light batter. ## Inside Jangsu Jjambbong Jeonmunjeom: the dining room at weekend lunch

Welcomed by a friendly owner, Jangsu Jjambbong Jeonmunjeom is a go-to Chinese restaurant in Godeok, serving a range of jjambbong (spicy seafood noodle soup) — pork jjambbong, Gobul Jjambbong, white jjambbong, oyster jjambbong — alongside the core Chinese menu of sweet and sour pork, ganjjajang (black bean noodles), and fried rice. The spacious interior makes it a good fit for family gatherings and group visits.

I stopped by for a weekend lunch. Once the lunch rush kicked in, the dining room filled up fast — clearly a favorite spot for Chinese food in Pyeongtaek.

## What we ordered: ganjjajang, shrimp fried rice and small sweet and sour pork

- Ganjjajang ₩10,000
- Shrimp fried rice ₩10,000
- Sweet and sour pork (small) ₩15,000

### Ganjjajang (₩10,000): smoky wok flavour and crunchy onion

☑️ The ganjjajang comes with the black bean paste, pork, and onion stir-fried separately, so the onion stays crunchy and every ingredient keeps its texture. It was rich, savory, and had a noticeable smoky wok flavor — genuinely better than regular jjajang.

With the black bean paste's flavor shining through, this is a dish anyone would enjoy. The chewy, springy noodles held their bite even after being mixed with the sauce, which made it all the more satisfying.

### Shrimp fried rice (₩10,000): fluffy grains with jjambbong broth

☑️ I'd been craving Chinese-restaurant fried rice, so I ordered the shrimp fried rice. The grains were fluffy and light, with a clean, savory seasoning that wasn't too salty.

It paired really well with the rich jjajang sauce, making for a bolder, fuller flavor when mixed together. The jjambbong broth that came on the side was spicy and refreshing, cutting through any greasiness from the fried rice perfectly. It's also a great dish to share with kids.👍🏻

### Sweet and sour pork, small (₩15,000): pork loin in a thin batter

☑️ The small sweet and sour pork at ₩15,000 was crispy and chewy, made with pork loin for a tender, light bite. The batter was thin and crisp, never heavy. The sweet-and-sour sauce wasn't too thick either — a lighter, clearer sauce that made it easy to eat without feeling overwhelmed.

The cabbage served alongside cleansed the palate nicely, and the generous pieces of pork were tender, with a clean flavor that came through more the longer you chewed. This is a must-order dish — highly recommended.
