## In short

Gin Jaryoko Ansan Gojan Branch is a Japanese restaurant in Gojan-dong, Ansan. My husband and I had salmon rice bowl and a demiglace pork cutlet set upgraded to 1.5 portions, and we especially loved the sauce, fried items, and generous set. Gin Jaryoko is a definite revisit for a hearty Japanese-style meal.

My husband and I came back to Gin Jaryoko Ansan Gojan Branch, one of our favorite Gojan-dong spots, again haha.

This is truly our go-to pork cutlet place as a couple! I came with my mom last time too, and it even became her all-time favorite pork cutlet place... haha. We came for lunch, so of course we had to add the 1.5-portion upgrade! And it’s free, too.

It’s right next to No Brand in Gojan-dong, on the main road, so it isn’t difficult to find :)

## Bar seating and an open-kitchen atmosphere

There are food models in front of the entrance, so you can look over the menu before going in. Inside, it’s laid out with bar seating and the open kitchen is right in view. The kitchen is always kept so clean that it feels reassuring every time I see it ˊᴗˋ

The restaurant is small, but the atmosphere is so nice... It feels exactly like a Japanese restaurant, haha.

You order at the kiosk by the entrance, and the self-service bar has kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), danmuji (pickled radish), and broth, so you can refill them comfortably while you eat.

## Gin Jaryoko Ansan Gojan Branch menu and our order

- Demiglace pork cutlet set ₩15,000
- Salmon rice bowl ₩14,000
- Ebi-don ₩12,500
- King prawn tempura udon ₩13,000

There’s such a great variety, from pork cutlets and rice bowls to curry and udon. This time, I ordered the salmon rice bowl and my husband got the demiglace pork cutlet set! Gin Jaryoko offers a free 1.5-portion upgrade, but we couldn’t do it last time because my mom is a light eater, haha. This time, my husband requested it right away as though it were only natural!!

## The 1.5-portion demiglace pork cutlet set

![Contents of the 1.5-portion demiglace pork cutlet set](https://img.superchart.com/images/ansan-gojan-donkatsu-ginjaryoko/ansan-gojan-donkatsu-ginjaryoko-09-rx34t-966.webp)

Here’s the demiglace pork cutlet set with the 1.5-portion upgrade. The set comes with a potato croquette and fried shrimp. Isn’t the portion seriously huge...?! The pork cutlet looks much bigger in person than it does in the photo, hahaha. With the potato croquette, king prawn tempura, and such a generous pork cutlet, the set is so well rounded that it felt filling just to look at it (?)!

I also loved that there was plenty of demiglace sauce. No matter how good the pork cutlet is, the sauce matters too, you know, everyone. It wasn’t overly tart like some Japanese-style sauces; it had the pleasantly sweet feel of an old-school pork cutlet sauce. What impressed me even more was that they simmer the sauce as they cook it. Thanks to that, both the pork cutlet and sauce stayed warm!

The breading was thin while the meat was thick, and the more I chewed, the more juicy it was. It was clean-tasting with absolutely no unpleasant meat smell ♡ The demiglace sauce had a rich savory depth plus a creamy flavor, almost as if fresh cream had been added, giving it a proper old-school Western-style feel.

A little mustard really brings the flavor to life, so I truly recommend this combination!! My husband kept reaching for it because of the sauce until all his rice was gone :)

The potato croquette was incredibly soft, and the king prawn tempura was crispy........ Writing this post is making me want it again.

## Salmon rice bowl piled high with salmon

![Salmon rice bowl with salmon and house-made soy sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/ansan-gojan-donkatsu-ginjaryoko/ansan-gojan-donkatsu-ginjaryoko-15-1o47e-900.webp)

The salmon rice bowl is something I end up ordering every time I come, haha. No matter how many times I see it, the generous pile of salmon always looks irresistible. Its soft texture melts in your mouth, and the mild, clean flavor comes together so well that once I take a spoonful, I just keep eating ♡

It’s the perfect combination with the house-made soy sauce and wasabi! The soy sauce here isn’t too salty even if you pour on plenty, so you can enjoy it without feeling weighed down ˊᴗˋ My husband and I finished every last bite again this time!!

Refilling kkakdugi and broth from the self-service bar made it an even more filling, happy meal. I really recommend Gin Jaryoko for pork cutlet in Gojan-dong and Japanese food in Ansan ♡ As we left, my husband and I promised we had to try the ebi-don and king prawn tempura udon next time, haha. We’re 100% coming back :)
