## In short

Suwolgyeonghwa is a fusion hanok tea café on the 3rd and 4th floors of a building on Songjeong Jungang-ro in Haeundae-gu, Busan, with ocean views from both levels. As a last stop before heading to Busan Station, the writer ordered Louis Wolju, a caffeine-free rooibos blend tea safe to drink during pregnancy, American-style gabae (iced Americano) and the Dalbodeure box of fusion Korean desserts. With Songjeong beach and the beach train in view from the window seats, Suwolgyeonghwa is a 1000% return visit.

The last café I visited in Songjeong before heading to Busan Station to wrap up my Busan trip: Suwolgyeonghwa. To cut to the chase, it's one of the cafés I liked best out of everywhere I went in Busan. The view of Songjeong beach and the beach train was gorgeous, but the tea and desserts exceeded my expectations too.

The traditional fusion hanok (Korean traditional house) interior blended naturally with the modern ocean view, and just sitting there staring out the window with a cup of tea felt properly healing. Return visit intention: 1000%

![Fusion hanok interior and picture window at Suwolgyeonghwa](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-02-irbn5-900.webp)

Suwolgyeonghwa is spread over the 3rd and 4th floors, and you order on the 4th floor. The moment I got up to the 4th floor, I was genuinely stunned by the Songjeong sea beyond the picture window. It was so much prettier in person than in photos, and from the moment I stepped in I felt like I'd found the perfect last stop for my Busan trip.

![Quiet seating area on the 3rd floor of Suwolgyeonghwa](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-06-8ck7u-900.webp)

![Shoes-off floor seating on the 3rd floor of Suwolgyeonghwa](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-07-1t9s6-900.webp)

At first I didn't even realize there was seating on the 3rd floor and went straight up to the 4th, but when I went down later, the 3rd floor turned out to be really quiet with plenty of seats too.

The 3rd floor has comfortable regular tables as well as shoes-off floor seating. You can pick whichever mood and seating style suits you. Both floors overlook the sea, but the vibe is a little different on each, so I'd recommend looking around before settling in!

## A fusion hanok café where tradition meets modern design

Suwolgyeonghwa isn't just an ocean-view café — the atmosphere of the space itself is really charming. It's an overall fusion hanok interior with a Korean aesthetic, and it matched surprisingly well with the modern Songjeong scenery beyond the picture window.

The traditional mood is expressed in a refined way rather than too heavily, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a special café during a Busan trip.

Even the restroom was decorated prettily and neatly to match the store's mood, which made it pleasant to use.

## Reading the menu board, then ordering at the kiosk

![Dessert menu page at Suwolgyeonghwa](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-10-1yeh6-900.webp)

![Drink menu page at Suwolgyeonghwa](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-11-mees1-900.webp)

![Detailed page of Suwolgyeonghwa's menu board](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-12-yp7p8-900.webp)

![Kiosk used for ordering on the 4th floor of Suwolgyeonghwa](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-13-1y3gm-900.webp)

After sitting down, you can take the menu board and look through it slowly, then order at the kiosk on the 4th floor once you've decided. There's such a wide variety of teas that anyone who normally enjoys tea will have fun picking.

![Tea products for retail sale displayed at Suwolgyeonghwa](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-14-g24ct-900.webp)

Alongside the teas you can drink at the café, there were also products on display for separate purchase. If you find one you like after trying it, it might be worth buying as a gift or to enjoy at home!

## Louis Wolju: the caffeine-free Premium Collection tea to drink during pregnancy

![A cup of Louis Wolju, the non-caffeine rooibos blend tea](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-15-1d1k1-900.webp)

Since I'm pregnant, I was hoping there would be something I could drink, so I ordered Louis Wolju, a non-caffeine rooibos blend tea. It tasted completely different from an ordinary rooibos tea. There was a subtle scent reminiscent of cocoa, and both the aroma and taste were smooth — really delicious.

![Louis Wolju tea leaves set out so you can smell them](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-16-cmxj8-900.webp)

They prepare it so you can smell the tea before drinking it, and the rooibos scent felt healing even before the first sip. Even my husband, who doesn't usually drink tea, said he really liked it and kept sipping it!

If you're pregnant and worried about caffeine when choosing a drink, this non-caffeine menu is worth checking out. That said, individual health conditions and blending ingredients can vary, so if you're concerned, I'd recommend checking the raw ingredients before choosing.

## Can you order the American-style gabae weaker?

The American-style gabae, whose name was so cute, turned out to be an iced Americano. Unfortunately it couldn't be switched to decaf, but when I asked for it to be made lighter, the staff kindly made it lighter.

I prefer nutty coffee over coffee with strong acidity, and the American-style gabae suited my taste well. Since this café centers on traditional tea and blended teas, the coffee menu isn't very extensive, but that doesn't mean the coffee falls short. Anyone who prefers coffee over tea could visit comfortably too.

## Why the Dalbodeure dessert box is worth ordering

![The Dalbodeure box, a set of fusion Korean desserts](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-17-1y2hj-900.webp)

![Assortment of desserts in the Dalbodeure box](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-18-hv8uu-900.webp)

If you visit Suwolgyeonghwa, the menu I'd really recommend ordering is the Dalbodeure box. It's a set that lets you taste various fusion Korean desserts at once, offering a different kind of charm from the cakes or cookies you'd usually find at a café. It's good for sharing bit by bit with your tea, and it was presented so prettily that it was fun just to look at!

### Injeolmi (rice cake in bean powder) 🤍

What can I say — the injeolmi was delicious from its chewy texture alone! Being a traditional Korean dessert, it paired naturally with the tea, and the flavor was easy for anyone to enjoy.

### Black rice sulppang (steamed rice cake) 🖤

![Black rice sulppang with red bean](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-19-vqcrj-900.webp)

I'm originally a huge sulppang fanatic, so I was thrilled to see black rice sulppang in the Dalbodeure box. There was a bit of red bean underneath, and the moist sulppang paired well with the subtle sweetness of the red bean. It was so good I didn't give my husband a single bite and ate it all myself… so freaking good, haha.

### Ganache monaka (wafer sandwich) 🍫

![Monaka wafer filled with ganache cream](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-20-ro9ww-900.webp)

The ganache monaka had me saying "this is really good" the moment I took a bite. The ganache cream was sweet and smooth, like a mix of condensed milk and Delimanjoo cream, but with a richer, more luxurious cream flavor. Of all the desserts in the Dalbodeure box, this was the one I liked enough to want to order again separately.

### Whole red bean angbeoteo monaka 🧈

The whole red bean angbeoteo (red bean butter) monaka was my husband's number-one pick! The red bean was very soft and paired really well with the butter. The red bean wasn't overly sweet so it wasn't heavy, and it went even better with the fragrant tea. If you like red bean and angbeoteo desserts, this one will satisfy you.

### Gamtae myeongnan financier (seaweed and pollack roe) 🌿

![Savory, salty gamtae myeongnan financier](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-21-5usjl-900.webp)

The gamtae myeongnan financier was a dessert with a charming, savory saltiness. At first I thought it tasted familiar, and then I realized — it was similar to the traditional gim-flavored (seaweed) jeonbyeong crackers that I love! It felt like the familiar savory, salty taste of traditional jeonbyeong reinterpreted into a slightly more upscale bread. I love traditional jeonbyeong so much that I devoured this completely, haha.

## Watching Songjeong beach and the beach train from the window

![Songjeong sea and the beach train seen through the window](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-22-1ik4l-1200.webp)

Sitting by the window, staring blankly at the sea, time really flies by. Every so often you can see the beach train pass by outside the window, which was fun to watch. It was a space where a pretty view and a cup of tea alone were enough to feel completely healed without doing anything special.

It was a café I stopped by briefly before heading to Busan Station, and I was almost sorry I couldn't stay a bit longer.

## Photo spots around the café

Suwolgyeonghwa has plenty of good photo spots throughout the store, not just at the windows overlooking Songjeong beach. The quiet, refined fusion hanok interior blends well with tasteful props, so photos turned out pretty no matter where you shot them. Since you can enjoy tea and desserts while slowly looking around and taking photos, it's also a café I'd recommend to couples looking for a date spot in Songjeong.

## Overall verdict on Suwolgyeonghwa

![Tea and desserts enjoyed by the window at Suwolgyeonghwa](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-23-13sc4-776.webp)

![The atmosphere and ocean-view seating at Suwolgyeonghwa](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa/songjeong-ocean-view-tea-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-24-14m8b-900.webp)

From the pretty view of Songjeong beach and the beach train, to the refined fusion hanok interior, to the delicious tea and Korean desserts, Suwolgyeonghwa satisfied on every front. You can try distinctive menu items that differ from typical café desserts, and it's a place where just sitting quietly and looking at the sea is enough to feel properly healed.

If you're looking for an atmospheric ocean-view café in Songjeong, Busan, I'd definitely recommend giving it a visit.
