## In short

Hets Jeonpo Branch is a Jeju black pork tonkatsu restaurant on the second floor near Exit 7 of Jeonpo Station in Busan, and the brand's second location after the Gwangan branch. The writer ordered the Jeju black pork sang loin katsu (₩17,000) and the loin katsu (₩14,000) together and ate them with pepper, wasabi, truffle oil and silbi kimchi, alongside the corn tea served in place of water and a salad in corn dressing. With a stainless bar table facing an open kitchen, Hets Jeonpo Branch works well even for a solo tonkatsu lunch in Jeonpo.

## Hets Jeonpo Branch: a Jeju black pork tonkatsu spot by Jeonpo Station Exit 7

Hets Jeonpo Branch is a 2nd-floor tonkatsu restaurant at 225 Jeonpo-daero, Busanjin-gu, Busan, close to Exit 7 of Jeonpo Station. It's open 11:10-20:30, with a break time from 15:30-17:00 and last orders at 15:00 and 20:00. They also support ₩1,000 toward parking at a nearby public lot.

Hets has its first branch in Gwangan and this Jeonpo spot is its second — as a tonkatsu lover, I couldn't not check it out, so I went right away.

![Silver-toned entrance of Hets Jeonpo Branch](https://img.superchart.com/images/hetz-jeonpo-heukdon-katsu-corn-tea/hetz-jeonpo-heukdon-katsu-corn-tea-02-6b6g5-900.webp)

It's close to the station so the location is great, and the entrance is done up in sleek silver from the get-go. FYI, CatchTable reservations work here too.

Once inside, there's a dedicated spot to store umbrellas and coats, plus waiting seats.

## The stainless bar table and goods at Hets Jeonpo Branch

The seating at Hets Jeonpo Branch is a black-and-silver combo, done overall in stainless steel. The bar table is perfect for eating alone, and it gave off a hip yet polished vibe.

Clean and with plenty of seats, Hets really has that new-generation interior feel.

They also sell various goods, and the BGM was great too.

Hets also offers a discount as a thank-you to those who serve the country.

There were even sticky notes for taking song requests.

Apparently 'Hets' means fun or cheerful in German. It's meant to say they hope you eat happily and deliciously, haha.

## 5 ways to eat Hets tonkatsu at its best

I liked that Hets Jeonpo Branch had simple illustrated menu explanations along with tips for eating it deliciously.

- Take the first bite with no sauce
- Combine with wasabi
- Dip in pink salt
- Drizzle with truffle oil
- Dip in pepper

I love the wasabi and truffle oil combo the most. I'm a tonkatsu lover who eats it with no sauce.

The menu at each seat lists tonkatsu, sandos, and sides, and they also sell beer, so try the tonkatsu-and-beer combo sometime.

Since it's an open kitchen, you can watch them fry the katsu hygienically, which made me trust Hets even more. Reliability up.

## Corn tea instead of water, and the sauces set at each seat

A killer point about Hets Jeonpo Branch — the water isn't plain bottled water, it's corn tea. Nutty and refreshing, I loved it so much.

Each seat comes pre-set with whole black pepper, salad dressing, truffle oil, and wasabi. The perk of not having to keep asking for refills, haha.

They were also taking song requests and wifi was available. These cute, thoughtful little notes were full of good sense.

Apparently you get boneless gara-age or a soda if you write a Naver review. Just FYI.

## Sang loin katsu (₩17,000) vs loin katsu (₩14,000): which to order

What I ordered was the Jeju black pork sang loin katsu (₩17,000) and Jeju black pork loin katsu (₩14,000).

![Jeju black pork sang loin katsu with rice and jangguk soup](https://img.superchart.com/images/hetz-jeonpo-heukdon-katsu-corn-tea/hetz-jeonpo-heukdon-katsu-corn-tea-17-txpoy-1200.webp)

Rice and jangguk (savory soup) come as standard, and the soup was clean and just slightly spicy — really tasty, haha. Jangguk really is essential with tonkatsu. The Jeju black pork sang loin katsu was dripping with juices and overwhelming just from the visual... it was fried really well, not greasy at all, and had barely any oiliness, which I loved. Tonkatsu's biggest downside is usually the frying making it easy to get sick of, but there was none of that here, and the portion was just right.

![Cross-section of the juicy Jeju black pork sang loin katsu](https://img.superchart.com/images/hetz-jeonpo-heukdon-katsu-corn-tea/hetz-jeonpo-heukdon-katsu-corn-tea-18-1h2em-900.webp)

You could catch a slight meaty aroma and hint of char too, which made it soft and delicious, haha.

The Jeju black pork loin katsu felt a bit thicker and had a stronger chewy texture. I really love the fatty part, and eating it with silbi kimchi (fresh spicy kimchi) let me enjoy it deliciously with zero greasiness. Compared to the sang loin katsu it had less fat, but it was still delicious.

They'll also give you silbi kimchi if you ask — it's a bit spicy and completely cuts the richness, letting you eat really happily.

Drizzled with truffle oil, the aroma rises up gently and it's so fragrant, letting you really taste the meat's original flavor.

## Why Hets Jeonpo Branch is worth a tonkatsu meal in Jeonpo

Hets Jeonpo Branch even does a corn dressing for the salad, which is nutty and sweet — I don't usually like dressings, but I enjoyed this one. The staff were quick and kind too, which made it even better. It's great for solo dining and the tonkatsu is delicious, so it's a place I'd want to visit again. If you're looking for a good tonkatsu spot in Jeonpo, I highly recommend Hets.
