I had lunch at Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal, a well-known spot near Dongtan Central Park. We ordered the budget kimchi jjigae set for two with an added ramyeon sari (instant noodle add-on). The meat in the stew was actual samgyeopsal (pork belly), so it was tasty and filling at the same time.

The pork belly was thick-cut and came in generous long pieces. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a meal that's both delicious and satisfying!

It's located next to Gaenari Park by Central Park, and there's parking right in front of the building, so driving there wasn't stressful at all. We arrived a little after 11am and parking was really wide open. Being able to park right in front made things super convenient before and after the meal.

For anyone looking for Korean food near Dongtan Central Park, Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal was a great place to eat.

The interior looked comfortable and relaxed, with wide spacing between tables.

Both the tables and the whole restaurant looked clean overall. We visited a bit after 11am, and there were already people eating, with tables continuing to fill up after that. It made me think this must be a popular lunch spot for people around Central Park.

One thing I loved about Yangpuni: Jinro soju and Chamisul soju were only ₩1,900. The moment I saw the soju price, I thought, 'if this were in my neighborhood, I'd be coming here for soju all the time' haha 🤭

## How the kimchi jjigae with thick pork belly tasted

The kimchi jjigae and ramyeon sari came out first. They cut the pork belly into bite-sized pieces for us right away. The meat came out even bigger than I expected — no matter how much I cut, there always seemed to be more pork belly left to cut!! Served in a big brass pot (yangpuni), the portion was huge.

Kimchi jjigae with samgyeopsal — seriously so good. The fat-to-meat ratio on the pork belly was just right, and the pieces were big!! It was a two-person set, but the portion was hearty enough that I thought three people could easily eat it.

While the ramyeon sari was simmering, the egg roll arrived.

The egg roll was big and thick, and it came with a generous drizzle of ketchup on the side, so it was both tasty and filling.

They cooked the ramyeon to just the doneness we liked, and eating it together with the kimchi — chewy noodles, crunchy kimchi — I slurped it all down happily.

It wasn't just kimchi and meat — tofu came along too. It wasn't firm, hard tofu but soft and moist, so it was great wrapped up with kimchi. After finishing the ramyeon, we kept eating rice with pork belly and kimchi.

Look how thick that pork belly is 🙊 My friend kept saying "pork belly in kimchi jjigae is amazing" the whole meal.

Eating the thick pork belly together with well-fermented kimchi was really delicious. I finished a whole bowl of rice and all the pork belly, then kept eating the kimchi jjigae along with the egg roll. Even though it had simmered for a long time, the kimchi stayed crunchy, which I loved.
