I wanted a hearty meat lunch, so I went to Suyu Daewang Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal, a well-known BBQ restaurant near Suyu Station. I drove there, and since parking was available, this seemed like the easy choice.

## Two signs out front: how to find Suyu Daewang the first time

Suyu Daewang Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal has its own sign underneath a sign that reads 'Eat Cow, Then Pig' (소 먹으면 돼지). I was a bit thrown before even walking in. I'd definitely come to the right place, but the sign right in front of me said 'Eat Cow, Then Pig.' Wait, is this right? Did I come to the wrong spot? I checked again and...

The vegetables in particular are an unlimited refill, so anyone who loves wrapping their meat in lettuce will be happy. It's great being able to load up on vegetables while eating samgyeopsal (pork belly) at a Korean BBQ spot near Suyu Station.

## Is the 168-hour aged whole pork belly thick but still tender?

After a short wait, the thick whole pork belly arrived. The thickness alone made it look delicious even before hitting the pan. This restaurant uses grade-1 pork that's been low-temperature aged for 168 hours.

They put the pork belly on the big cauldron lid and grilled it together with kimchi and bean sprouts — it looked hearty just to watch. Since the meat was so thick, I was a little worried it might be tough.

But once I tasted it, there was no pork smell at all, and the texture was soft — I think families could come here and not go wrong. Even cut into thick pieces it wasn't overwhelming; the meaty chew and tenderness were nicely balanced, which I really liked.

Another thing that stood out while eating was the owner. Even handling several tables alone, they were incredibly fast.

There was a real veteran vibe, like someone who's been doing this for a long time. Watching them handle everything solo, like a one-person army, was oddly reassuring.

Easy parking, and a 600g whole pork belly plate for ₩29,000 — the value was good. Above all, the 168-hour low-temperature aged pork belly was thick yet never tough, soft and enjoyable.
