Since it was labeled medium, I figured the shrimp+chicken dakgangjeong wouldn't be much, but when we opened the box it was more generous than expected. Having shrimp gangjeong alongside the chicken was great too — being able to alternate between the two rather than eating just chicken made it more fun. The dakgangjeong looked appetizing right away, with sauce coating every piece evenly. Being boneless definitely made it more convenient to pack and eat while traveling. There's the joy of eating it piping hot right away, but there's also something to picking pieces one by one after it's cooled a bit, isn't there? After enjoying the soft texture of the dakgangjeong, biting into the shrimp gangjeong and getting that springy shrimp texture inside was really nice. Personally, I liked being able to try both chicken and shrimp in one combo rather than eating just one thing the whole time. Switching from the salty-sweet dakgangjeong to a cheese stick brought a whole different kind of sweetness and savoriness, so it made for a good combination as a side. Warm, the cheese inside stretched softly and the sweet potato's sweetness came through even more, which made it taste even better. Sweet potato and cheese is hard to get wrong, right, haha. It was nice to nibble on lightly between the heartier bites of dakgangjeong, so ordering it alongside was worth it. ## Is Mannyeon Dakgangjeong worth packing as a night snack in Jeonju Hanok Village? Laid out together, the shrimp+chicken dakgangjeong with the sweet potato cheese sticks and jjondeugi ended up being more filling than expected. We'd already eaten a lot around Jeonju Hanok Village that day and meant to keep this one simple, but we ended up eating well again, haha. Especially when traveling, sitting down for another full meal at a restaurant can feel like a lot, but just going straight back to the accommodation can feel like something's missing too. That's when something like dakgangjeong, which you can pack up and eat slowly, comes in handy. It's easy to carry around, so it's good to eat while browsing the hanok village if you get hungry, or, like us, to pack before heading into your accommodation for a late-night snack. Even if you can't finish it all at once, it's the kind of menu that's easy to pick at little by little, which made it a great fit as travel takeout. It was great being able to try shrimp and chicken dakgangjeong together, and adding the sweet potato cheese sticks and jjondeugi meant we got to pick and choose between different types, which was fun. If you're looking for a simple street food bite in Jeonju Hanok Village or a late-night snack for your accommodation, Mannyeon Dakgangjeong Hanok Village Direct Store is worth grabbing takeout from.
