I wanted to prepare one really pretty cake for my dad’s birthday, so I looked into a place I’d heard was famous at Express Bus Terminal Sweet Park: the premium cake brand ✶Chef Cho✶. I’ll honestly share the look and actual taste of the Peach Berry Cake No. 1 I ordered, plus how to get there 😊

## Chef Cho Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam location and parking

Chef Cho Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam is in Sweet Park on B1 of Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam, 176 Sinbanpo-ro, Seocho-gu, Seoul.

If you’re driving, the free-parking time changes according to how much you spend. I’ve written the details below, so please use them as a reference!

- Parking fee: ₩1,500 per 15 minutes
- Free parking: Applied when you show a Sweet Park purchase receipt, up to 3 hours
- 1 hour over ₩50,000 / 2 hours over ₩100,000 / 3 hours over ₩150,000
- Available lots: department store underground parking, tower parking, Famille parking, and the Gyeongbu Line side-road parking lot
- Keep your paper or electronic receipt—fees may apply if you lose it!

Popular cakes can sell out early, so I recommend making a reservation before visiting.

## How to get to Sweet Park from Line 9

I came to Express Bus Terminal on Line 9 as a pedestrian, so I’ll also walk you through the subway route in detail~

Line 9 and Sweet Park are connected underground! When you leave the Line 9 platform, don’t go all the way outside; on the floor with clothing stores, Olive Young, ABC Mart, Artbox, and more, head toward the inside of Shinsegae Department Store. I went up twice from the platform and entered through the Shinsegae entrance too. The Sweet Park hours were posted at the entrance: 10:30–20:00!

Once you enter the Shinsegae basement, there are lots of department-store restaurants and shops gathered together. There are so many people and stores, and no single obvious route, so it can be really confusing.

Luckily, near the department-store entrance I spotted a “general information kiosk” for finding locations. From the kiosk, think: go diagonally, then straight ahead! You’ll need to weave around the shops..

After passing the Shinsegae food hall, you’ll see a sign pointing toward the Honam Line terminal. Exit there, walk straight just a little farther, and look to your right—

And Sweet Park... appears!! Haha. Even though I live in this neighborhood, I still find it difficult..

Chef Cho is a premium cake brand that began at its Mullae flagship store and has continued for over 20 years.

It is run on the skill of master confectioner Jo Jeong-im and stylish designs, and they say they use 100% dairy whipped cream and fresh seasonal fruit delivered daily!

Figs are so delicious these days, right? There was also a Fig Pistachio Cake piled high with figs. It was ₩58,000.

The Real Mango Rose, with thin mango slices arranged like a rose, looked sweet and refreshing just to look at! Its appearance was so pretty and elegant that it seemed great for a gift. It was ₩56,000.

Peach Berry combines strawberries and peaches, and this time I picked up Peach Berry Cake No. 1 for my dad’s birthday! It was ₩56,000. I’ll share the detailed review below~

### Mini cakes

The mini cake line is smaller than No. 1, a nice size for marking a small occasion or when there are only a few people. The designs are the same as No. 1, so the smaller size didn’t make the visuals disappointing at all!

The Fig Pistachio Mini was ₩45,000, while the Mango Rose and Peach Berry Minis were ₩39,000. They were only a little smaller but still plenty pretty, so they seemed fine for gifts too!

They also sold cake slices for eating alone or trying just one or two pieces without too much commitment. The slice varieties differed from the main No. 1 cakes, but that only made me curious about the new flavors! Next time, I should try another flavor as a slice haha.

## Peach Berry No. 1 birthday cake taste

This is the Peach Berry No. 1 I ordered! It was packed so carefully haha. I walked about 25 minutes home, and it stayed beautifully secured without shaking~

I kept it safely in the fridge for a while, then took it out when my dad, the birthday star, was due to arrive!! What an amazing look.•♥ The moment I opened the box, the strawberries and peaches immediately caught my eye. There was such an abundance of fruit on top that it looked colorful and appetizing at a glance.

Adding the cute candles made it look even better! My dad also said the cake was pretty and loved it, so it felt worthwhile to have prepared it haha.

Then I prepared foods worthy of a proper birthday table~ We blew out the cake candles and tried it!

There was so much fruit on top that cutting the cake was a little difficult lol. Inside, there was a good balance of cake and whipped cream, with a little strawberry in the middle and thinly sliced peaches near the bottom.

The peaches were the firm, crisp kind I love, so I liked them even more! They weren’t peaches without sweetness, either; a pleasant peach aroma and sweetness came through, making them refreshing and delicious. I liked the flavor and texture of the peaches, so overall the fruit quality seemed good too.

Maybe because strawberries aren’t in season yet, they weren’t very large, but they were sweet, fresh, and delicious!

The cake layers seemed to have syrup on them, so they were moist and sweet. The cake was soft, the peaches were cool and crisp, and the fruit’s freshness made it sweet yet refreshing—the kind of flavor that kept me reaching for another bite ˚ෆ*₊

Overall, the Peach Berry Cake was satisfying in both looks and taste, with fruit piled generously on top. The strawberries and peaches together made it sweet and refreshing, and it was great to prepare for my dad’s birthday.
