## In short

Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch is a Chinese restaurant on the second floor of a building on Teheran-ro 10-gil in Gangnam, Seoul, near Yeoksam Station. Ordered as a set of the basic three, the jjajang (black bean noodles) tasted sweet and nutty, the jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) broth was hot and savory, and the sweet and sour pork was crisp outside and chewy inside. Finding a place for lunch near Yeoksam Station can weirdly be tricky sometimes, right? Sometimes you want a simple meal alone, sometimes you want something hearty with coworkers, and when there's a group, it's even better if there are dishes everyone can share. This time, I visited a place that solved all of that without any fuss — Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch.

## Where is Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch, and what is the space like?

Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch is located on Teheran-ro 10-gil in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on the 2nd floor. It seemed like a spot office workers would easily find during lunch hour near Yeoksam Station, and once I actually stepped inside, the atmosphere felt comfortable whether you're eating alone or with a group. If you're looking for a Chinese restaurant in Yeoksam-dong, this is one worth keeping an eye on.

Walking into the building and into the restaurant, the space felt roomier than I expected, which I liked. It's good for a quick meal during lunch hour, and with tables set up, solo diners can eat comfortably too. Personally, when I go to a restaurant, the taste matters but I also pay attention to the interior atmosphere — and here, it was clean and pleasant without feeling cluttered or cramped, which I liked. Especially around Yeoksam Station where there are a lot of office workers, meal speed matters during lunch hour. In that sense, this felt like a place where you could pick your menu, eat well, and leave without any hassle.

## Jjajang, jjamppong and sweet and sour pork on one table

That day, just having jjamppong alone felt like it wouldn't be enough, so I properly tried jjajang, jjamppong, and sweet and sour pork together. To cut to the conclusion: all three dishes were really delicious. I guess you really do need to try both jjajangmyeon and jjamppong at a Chinese restaurant to get the full sense of the place.

### How does the jjajang taste? Sweet and nutty

I started with the jjajang, and you could really taste that distinctive sweet, savory jjajang flavor. As the black bean sauce coated the noodles evenly, each bite felt more satisfying — no wonder people always think of jjajangmyeon when they think of Chinese restaurants. The sauce blended so well with the noodles that I kept slurping away, and even though I originally planned to eat more jjamppong, the jjajang was so good my chopsticks kept going back for more. And of course, coming to Jjamppong Jijon, you can't skip the jjamppong. With a name like that, the jjamppong was truly impressive.

### Sweet and sour pork: crisp outside, chewy inside

A bite of jjajangmyeon, then a piece of sweet and sour pork; a spoonful of jjamppong, then another piece of sweet and sour pork. Before I knew it, the plate was emptying fast. This confirmed that ordering sweet and sour pork alongside your noodles at a Chinese restaurant really completes the meal. With all three dishes laid out together, the visual was quite generous too, making it seem great for sharing with a group.

And the sweet and sour pork was what I was most looking forward to that day. When you order sweet and sour pork alongside Chinese food, the table suddenly feels so much more abundant, right? Eating the crispy fried pork with the sauce was perfect for popping in between bites of jjajang and jjamppong. The outside was crispy and the inside stayed chewy, so even though I meant to only have one or two pieces, I kept reaching for more.

## Is Jjamppong Jijon good for solo meals and team dinners?

Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch actually has plenty of other menu items besides jjajang and jjamppong — sweet rice sweet and sour pork, Sichuan-style sweet and sour pork, dumplings, fried rice, and more — so there's plenty to choose from depending on your taste. That made me think this could work well for anyone looking for a team dinner spot in Yeoksam-dong. When having a work dinner with colleagues, one person orders jjajang, another orders jjamppong, and you throw in a sweet and sour pork to share — there's less stress about deciding on one dish. Chinese food really does have that fun of ordering a bunch of things to share when there's a group. On the flip side, there are also plenty of options that aren't a burden to order solo, so it works for anyone looking for a solo dining spot for lunch near Yeoksam Station too.

### Is the jjamppong broth spicy? Hot with plenty of savory depth

The broth was spicy with a real depth of umami, and it really came alive when eaten together with the noodles. A spoonful of the hot broth followed by a slurp of noodles warmed me up from the inside. Especially during lunch hour, having a bowl of hot jjamppong like this feels like catching your breath after a hectic morning. This kind of dish seems perfect for office workers looking for a Chinese restaurant lunch near Yeoksam Station. Jjamppong has that fun of eating the toppings and noodles together, plus the broth keeps pulling you back in until, before you know it, the bowl is nearly empty.

Above all, having tried all three dishes that day, everything was delicious and satisfying. These days, rather than just filling up during lunch, eating something genuinely good even during a short lunch break changes how the afternoon feels.
