## In short

Frolla is an Italian-style café in Seongsu, Seoul. At Frolla I had the macedonia (12,000 won), an Australian-style flat white (7,000 won), the original tiramisu (9,500 won) and homemade sheep-shaped biscotti (6,000 won), in a room that felt like a stop on a trip abroad. The tiramisu and flat white together were the most memorable part of the visit.

## Frolla: an Italian-style café in Seongsu, Seoul

I visited a café in Seongsu with a bit of a special vibe! It's called Frolla Seongsu. Since it's actually run by an Italian, the moment I stepped in it really felt like I'd landed in Europe~ There were so many foreign customers, too. Even while I was there, I kept hearing other languages from all around me, so for a second I genuinely got confused about whether I was in Seongsu or somewhere in Europe?! That's how strongly the Italian mood comes through, from the atmosphere all the way to the menu!

Frolla isn't just a place for coffee — it's great for brunch and dessert too, so it'll suit anyone looking for a Seongsu café brunch spot~

## What we ordered at Frolla

- Macedonia — ₩12,000
- Flat white — ₩7,000
- Original Tiramisu — ₩9,500
- Homemade Sheep Biscotti — ₩6,000

## What does the macedonia (fruit salad) taste like?

First up, the Macedonia! It's an Italian-style fruit punch made with seasonal fruit, and here it comes topped with lemon gelato, which made it extra special. The refreshing seasonal fruit combined with the sweet-tart lemon gelato made my whole mouth feel clean and bright.

Eating the fruit and gelato together worked really well as a dessert too — it felt totally different from the usual fruit desserts, so it's a menu item worth trying at least once if you visit Frolla.

## Frolla's flat white, served Australian-style

Next, the Flat White! Flat white is famous as an Australian coffee style, and since Frolla's owner apparently ran a café in Sydney, Australia for over 10 years, even the regular coffee is served in Australian-sized cups. The beans are also 100% Arabica roasted in Australia, so I had high expectations — and it delivered, with a rich, smooth flavor that came together really nicely.

If you're searching for coffee in Seongsu-dong and want to try something a little different, this is the one I'd recommend!

## The original tiramisu I came to Frolla for

And of course, the original tiramisu. True to its claim of capturing the taste of Rome, Italy, it's made in-house with 100% pure mascarpone! The cream was soft and rich, and paired with the coffee, the combination was seriously incredible.

Personally, this was the menu item I was most looking forward to that day, and compared to every tiramisu I've had before, it was overwhelmingly number one. If you're looking for tiramisu at a Seongsu café, you absolutely have to try this!!!

## Sheep-shaped biscotti to go with the coffee

We also ordered the homemade sheep biscotti. The crunchy texture made it perfect alongside coffee, and I loved that it's a homemade dessert shaped like a cute little sheep.

Overall, Frolla Seongsu had a charm that felt different from your typical Seongsu café, thanks to the combination of an Italian owner and their long experience running a café in Australia. It made sense why there were so many foreign customers — I really got to enjoy coffee and dessert while feeling like I was on a trip~💗

## Is Frolla a good Seongsu café for lingering?

If you're searching for Seongsu coffee or the best coffee spot in Seongsu, keep an eye on the coffee menu, and if you also want to enjoy dessert, I'd definitely recommend the tiramisu. It'll especially suit anyone who loves an Italian café atmosphere or is hunting for a good Australian-style flat white.

The inside of the shop also has a comfortable atmosphere to settle into, so instead of grabbing a quick coffee and leaving, it was nice to sit and chat at ease. Seongsu-dong has so many cafés that it's hard to decide where to go, but Frolla definitely stuck with me for having a menu that captures a genuine Italian feel!

## Next visit to Frolla: brunch and panini

Above all, enjoying food and coffee together while naturally experiencing another country's café culture felt great, and if you like something a bit more special than the usual menu, I recommend the macedonia! If it's your first visit, the flat white and original tiramisu combo would also be a good choice. Both the desserts and coffee were so good that next time I want to try the brunch menu and panini too. Chance of returning: 10000%
