## In short

Dwaeji Gomtang House Musinsa Mega Store Branch is a pop-up pork gomtang (pork bone soup) restaurant on the 4th floor of Musinsa Mega Store in Seongsu, Seoul, open until March next year. The writer and her boyfriend ordered the clear gomtang set and the spicy gomtang set, then added a half plate of cold jeyuk (boiled sliced pork) for a hot soup and cold pork pairing. With shopping and dinner in one building and paid parking on site, Dwaeji Gomtang House works well as a Seongsu date course.

I was visiting Musinsa Mega Store in Seongsu and looking for somewhere I could shop and eat without moving, so I ended up at Dwaeji Gomtang House inside Musinsa Mega Store Seongsu.

Dwaeji Gomtang House is on the 4th floor of Musinsa Mega Store, so it's convenient for a quick meal while shopping — and I was curious because it seemed like a slightly different take on pork gomtang (pork bone soup).

## A pop-up inside Musinsa Mega Store: what is Dwaeji Gomtang House?

Dwaeji Gomtang House Musinsa Mega Store Branch isn't a regular permanent store — it's operating as a pop-up.

The pop-up is set to run until March next year, so if you're planning a trip to Seongsu, it's worth dropping by once during that window. (Dwaeji Gomtang House also has its original Seongsu location.)

## How to get to the Musinsa Mega Store 4th floor, and parking

Since it's inside Musinsa Mega Store, finding it was easy — you just naturally walk into the food court while shopping. It's also a convenient stop if you're on a date in Seongsu and need to find somewhere to eat. Finding a restaurant with parking in Seongsu is genuinely tough, so it's worth noting that parking is available here!

## What we ordered: clear set, spicy set and a half plate of cold jeyuk

I came with my boyfriend that day, so we ordered the clear gomtang set, the spicy gomtang set, and a half plate of cold jerook.

### Clear gomtang set: how does the soup taste?

My boyfriend ordered the clear gomtang set.

![A bowl of the clear gomtang set at Dwaeji Gomtang House](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-musinsa-gongtang-hau-cold-pork/seongsu-musinsa-gongtang-hau-cold-pork-09-1cb1t-900.webp)

The broth was clear and clean just as the name suggests, so even people who find the strong broth or gamey smell of typical pork gomtang off-putting could probably eat this comfortably.

Rather than feeling heavy, the broth felt clean while still carrying a subtle, mild pork aroma.

There was a generous amount of meat and tot (seaweed) in it too, and it was really delicious!

### Spicy gomtang set and the side dishes that come with it

The one I ordered was the spicy gomtang set. The set comes with kimchi, herring roe radish, salted shrimp, pickled chili, and dessert fruit.

Same gomtang, but a distinctly different feel from the clear version.

![Side dishes from the spicy gomtang set](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-musinsa-gongtang-hau-cold-pork/seongsu-musinsa-gongtang-hau-cold-pork-15-kznpl-900.webp)

The combination with the side dishes was great! While the clear gomtang feels clean and mild, the spicy gomtang adds a kick of heat on top, so if you're visiting as a pair, ordering one of each to compare seems like a great idea.

## Cold jeyuk half plate vs mandu: which side is worth it?

For a side, I went back and forth between minari-tot king mandu (dumplings) and settled on the cold jerook (boiled sliced pork) instead. But the table next to us was enjoying their mandu so much that before our food arrived, I think I said 'ugh, maybe I should've gotten the mandu' about ten times.. 🤤

![Table with cold jerook set next to the gomtang](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-musinsa-gongtang-hau-cold-pork/seongsu-musinsa-gongtang-hau-cold-pork-17-1cjf3-900.webp)

But once I actually took a bite of the cold jerook, I changed my mind. Eating warm gomtang alongside cold pork turned out to be a pretty great combination!

![Cold jerook topped with seasoned soy sauce and minari](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-musinsa-gongtang-hau-cold-pork/seongsu-musinsa-gongtang-hau-cold-pork-18-m50h0-900.webp)

The seasoned soy sauce and minari (water dropwort) served with it were tasty together too, and it paired well with the herring roe radish as well. I finished it all off perfectly with the dessert fruit.

## Shopping then dinner: is Dwaeji Gomtang House a good Seongsu date course?

One of the biggest advantages of Dwaeji Gomtang House is definitely the location. It was so convenient not having to go anywhere else to eat while browsing Musinsa Mega Store in Seongsu.

![Seating at Dwaeji Gomtang House on the 4th floor of Musinsa Mega Store](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-musinsa-gongtang-hau-cold-pork/seongsu-musinsa-gongtang-hau-cold-pork-19-ok3qc-900.webp)

![Spacious table space at Dwaeji Gomtang House](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-musinsa-gongtang-hau-cold-pork/seongsu-musinsa-gongtang-hau-cold-pork-20-69yh1-900.webp)

![Comfortable dining space inside Musinsa Mega Store](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-musinsa-gongtang-hau-cold-pork/seongsu-musinsa-gongtang-hau-cold-pork-21-6qzqo-900.webp)

![Vertical shot of the interior of Dwaeji Gomtang House](https://img.superchart.com/images/seongsu-musinsa-gongtang-hau-cold-pork/seongsu-musinsa-gongtang-hau-cold-pork-22-1jcxa-900.webp)

Since it's inside Musinsa Mega Store, the seating was really spacious and comfortable! Especially in Seongsu, popular restaurants often have long waits on weekends or in the evenings, so being able to handle shopping and eating in one place makes this a great option for a date or shopping course. If you're planning a trip to Musinsa Mega Store, I'd say pork gomtang is worth considering for your meal.
