## In short

Yukjjip is an aged-pork Korean BBQ restaurant on Bulgwangcheon-gil, right in front of Eungam Station in Eunpyeong, Seoul. Two diners ordered the Yukjjip mixed platter 600g — signature pork neck, whole pork belly and gabrisal, all grilled at the table by staff — and got a free doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) with the before-6pm visit perk, alongside the ₩1,000 soju and ₩2,000 bottled beer event. The thick cuts of aged pork and the juicy grilled eggplant and king oyster mushrooms made Yukjjip a satisfying meal for two.

I finally visited Yukjjip, a place I'd walked past several times near Bulgwangcheon stream right in front of Eungam Station. It's super accessible being so close to the station, and since staff grill everything for you, it's an easy place to just relax and enjoy the meat. This time I ordered the Yukjjip mixed platter and tried pork neck, whole pork belly, and gabrisal all in one go. They're also currently running a soju and bottled beer discount event, so it's a pretty great spot if you're looking for a good Korean BBQ restaurant near Eungam Station and want to pair your meat with a drink.

## Where Yukjjip is and its opening hours

Yukjjip is located at 558 Bulgwangcheon-gil, 1st-2nd floor, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, South Korea. Hours are Monday-Saturday 12:00-24:00 (last order 23:30), Sunday 12:00-23:00 (last order 22:30). It's an easy walk from Eungam Station, making it a convenient spot for dinner after work or a gathering.

## ₩1,000 soju, ₩2,000 bottled beer and the free stew before 6pm

The first thing that caught my eye when I visited was the event signage at the entrance. Their summer event has been extended through October, so soju is ₩1,000 and bottled beer is ₩2,000. Considering how much a bottle of soju costs at restaurants these days, that's a genuinely light price for a drink. I ordered one bottle each of soju and beer to go with the meat that day.

There's also an event where customers visiting before 6pm can choose either doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) or handmade sausage. I remembered the doenjang stew being delicious from a previous visit, so I picked that again this time.

## Yukjjip menu and how to order by tablet

Yukjjip's signature is the mixed platter that lets you enjoy several cuts at once. À la carte, you can order signature pork neck 180g for ₩17,000, whole pork belly 180g for ₩17,000, or gabrisal 150g for ₩17,000. Since we visited as two, we ordered the Yukjjip mixed platter 600g.

Ordering is done through the tablet installed at each table, so you can conveniently add more without having to flag down staff.

## Side dishes that paired well with the pork

![Basic side dishes set out at Yukjjip](https://img.superchart.com/images/eungam-yukjjeup-grilled-vegetables-set/eungam-yukjjeup-grilled-vegetables-set-07-1feps-966.webp)

After ordering, the basic side dishes were set out first. There was baek-kimchi (white kimchi), green onion kimchi, seasoned bean sprouts, lettuce wraps, peppers, and garlic — all good pairings for pork. Overall the sides weren't too heavily seasoned, which made them nice with the meat, and I especially liked how fresh the wrap greens and peppers were.

![Green onion kimchi and seasoned bean sprouts among other side dishes](https://img.superchart.com/images/eungam-yukjjeup-grilled-vegetables-set/eungam-yukjjeup-grilled-vegetables-set-08-1j75h-966.webp)

The green onion kimchi was well seasoned enough to eat on its own, but it went even better wrapped around a nicely grilled piece of pork neck or belly. The seasoned bean sprouts also had a nice crisp texture that worked well between bites of meat.

## Pork neck, whole belly and gabrisal in one order: the Yukjjip 600g platter

![A tray of raw meat for the Yukjjip mixed platter 600g](https://img.superchart.com/images/eungam-yukjjeup-grilled-vegetables-set/eungam-yukjjeup-grilled-vegetables-set-10-qgvwe-966.webp)

![Thickly sliced pork neck, whole pork belly, and gabrisal](https://img.superchart.com/images/eungam-yukjjeup-grilled-vegetables-set/eungam-yukjjeup-grilled-vegetables-set-11-y04d4-966.webp)

The Yukjjip mixed platter finally arrived. Thickly sliced signature pork neck, whole pork belly, and gabrisal all came out on one tray, along with king oyster mushrooms, eggplant, and garlic scapes. My first thought as soon as the meat arrived was that the cuts were seriously thick. The pork neck in particular looked like it had a great fat-to-meat ratio at a glance, and the whole belly was also cut thick — a look that would appeal to anyone hunting for good pork belly in Eunpyeong.

### Staff grilling at the table, step by step

Another great thing about Yukjjip is that staff grill the meat for you directly. I've visited a few times before, and every time, the level of doneness has been really satisfying.

They first laid the pork neck, eggplant, and garlic scapes on the grill, checking the state of the meat and grilling each piece carefully.

Thick cuts of meat can easily end up burnt on the outside and underdone inside if you grill them yourself, but the staff flip and cut it at just the right moments, so you just wait and eat it at its best.

### Grilled eggplant, king oyster mushroom and garlic scapes

The grilled vegetables weren't just a side afterthought either. The eggplant and king oyster mushrooms were grilled to keep their moisture, staying nice and juicy, and the garlic scapes still had good aroma, making them great to snack on with a drink before digging into the meat.

![Yukjjip's doenjang stew loaded with ingredients](https://img.superchart.com/images/eungam-yukjjeup-grilled-vegetables-set/eungam-yukjjeup-grilled-vegetables-set-18-10glh-966.webp)

The doenjang stew had a relatively rich broth and was generously loaded with tofu and vegetables. A hot spoonful in between bites of meat cut through the greasiness, and it went well with a bowl of rice too.

### Pork neck vs gabrisal: how the two cuts taste

Now finally tasting the well-grilled meat, I felt like I understood why the restaurant is called Yukjjip. The pork neck, despite being thick, wasn't dry at all — there was still plenty of juice inside. It went down smoothly when chewed, with the savory aroma of pork coming through, and it was personally one of my favorite cuts of the day.

Gabrisal had a different charm from the pork neck and belly. Underneath its tenderness there was a distinctive chewy texture, which made switching between cuts genuinely fun.

It was delicious just dipped lightly in salt, but the wrap greens were in such good shape that day that I made several wraps piled with green onion kimchi, seasoned bean sprouts, and garlic too. The combo of golden-grilled pork belly with green onion kimchi and a shot of soju was especially good.

## Final verdict on Yukjjip, a Korean BBQ spot near Eungam Station

![Seating inside Yukjjip](https://img.superchart.com/images/eungam-yukjjeup-grilled-vegetables-set/eungam-yukjjeup-grilled-vegetables-set-23-hwqsb-966.webp)

Yukjjip has a well put-together mixed platter that lets you try pork neck, pork belly, and gabrisal all at once, and above all, having staff grill the thick, aged meat for you was really satisfying. The basic side dishes paired well with the meat, and the wrap greens were fresh too, making for a solid overall meal. If you're looking for good food or a Korean BBQ restaurant right by Eungam Station, Yukjjip is worth a visit for thick, juicy aged pork you can enjoy without any hassle.
