## In short

Myeon Sikdang Godeok Station Branch is a Japanese restaurant in Gangdong, Seoul, a short walk from Godeok Station Exit 4 that serves ramen and tonkatsu under one roof. Visiting with a friend, the writer ordered two sets — tonkotsu ramen with a fire-grilled mini buta don, and mozza cheese katsu with mini cold soba — and the cheese katsu never turned heavy, with a little wasabi on top making the most memorable bite. Even the self-serve bar broth was worth refilling, a sign that Myeon Sikdang gets the small details right.

I was looking for a good tonkatsu spot near Godeok Station and ended up at Myeon Sikdang Godeok Station Branch. I'd been curious about this place for a while since it serves both ramen and tonkatsu under one roof, and I finally got the chance to check it out. Here's my honest review of this Godeok Station tonkatsu spot.

Myeon Sikdang Godeok Station Branch sits close enough to Godeok Station Exit 4 that getting there by public transit was no hassle at all. It's on the ground floor of the building, so it was easy to find just by looking for the sign. There were several other tonkatsu and ramen places nearby, but the reviews for this one looked great, so I picked it.

## Inside Myeon Sikdang: seating and service

The moment I stepped into Myeon Sikdang Godeok Station Branch, I could tell how clean the place was. The tables were spaced generously too, which made for a relaxed meal. There were tables for two and four spread evenly around, plus bar seating for anyone dining solo.

What stood out most, though, was the staff's attitude — from the moment we ordered until we finished eating, every staff member was cheerful and genuinely kind. If you're looking for a Godeok Station tonkatsu spot, this place will win you over not just with the food but with service like this too.

### Ordering at the kiosk

Orders are placed through a kiosk at the store entrance. The menu photos are large, so even a first-time visitor won't struggle to choose. You can see tonkatsu, ramen, and soba all on one screen, which made deciding what to pair together half the fun.

## The two sets we ordered for two people

We went with two of Myeon Sikdang Godeok Station Branch's signature sets: the tonkotsu ramen with fire-flavored mini buta don (rice bowl), and the mozza cheese katsu with mini cold soba. After a long deliberation over the menu, we ended up sticking with the signature sets — and after tasting both, I understood exactly why they're the ones featured as the highlights.

The dishes came out one after another not long after we ordered, so the wait never felt long.

### Tonkotsu ramen with fire-grilled mini buta don

The tonkotsu ramen impressed with its rich broth and chewy noodles, and the fire-flavored mini buta don that came alongside it had that smoky char hitting me from the very first bite — even the rice had it. The meat and rice worked beautifully with the smoky flavor, and switching back and forth between the ramen and the rice bowl was genuinely fun. The broth was so rich I didn't want to leave a single drop.

### Mozza cheese katsu with a touch of wasabi

The dish I most want to highlight in this review is the mozza cheese katsu. Cheese-stuffed tonkatsu usually gets greasy after just a couple of pieces for me, but the mozza cheese katsu here stayed completely grease-free all the way through.

The moment we bit in and the cheese stretched into long strings, both my friend and I gasped at the same time. The crispy batter paired with the soft, melty cheese made it impossible to stop reaching for more. The cutlet itself was thick enough to give a proper bite, and the batter was crispy outside while staying moist and tender inside.

The sauces that came with it weren't just tonkatsu sauce — there was also salt, wasabi, and chili powder, so you could dip however you liked. I tried topping a piece with a little wasabi, and it felt completely different from the wasabi you'd usually pair with grilled meat. The crispy batter combined with the sharp kick of wasabi created a whole new kind of flavor that really stuck with me.

The mini cold soba that came with it did a great job cutting through any richness with its cold, refreshing broth. The soba noodles were chewy too, almost too good to just be a side dish. My friend kept exclaiming over both dishes the whole time — it was a genuinely satisfying meal.

## The self-serve bar broth, kimchi and pickled radish

The self-serve bar at Myeon Sikdang Godeok Station Branch had water, kimchi, pickled radish, and broth on offer. I didn't expect much from the broth, but one sip in, it was surprisingly good, and I kept going back for refills. It seems like such a small thing, but the fact that even this was well made left a strong impression. Seeing how much care went into details this small, I understood why this place has been building word of mouth as a go-to tonkatsu spot near Godeok Station.
