I was looking for gukbap (soup with rice) near Suwon City Hall Station when I felt like a hot, filling meal, so I went to Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch. I usually like hot soupy dishes like gukbap or haejangguk anyway, but that day I was especially craving something spicy.

Once I actually tried it, the bowl was packed with bean sprouts, meat and glass noodles, and the broth was spicy enough that it was perfect for mixing in a bowl of rice. Best of all, the restaurant was bigger than I expected, and having free rice refills, a self-serve bar and even a power bank made the whole meal more comfortable.

## Looking for gukbap near Suwon City Hall Station

The place I visited was Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch. From outside, the big red haejangguk sign made it easy to spot, and the entrance was clean and tidy.

Jeju Eunhuine is already pretty well known for haejangguk, so the name was familiar, and I ended up trying a bowl again that day. If you're near Suwon City Hall Station or Ingye-dong and can't decide on lunch, gukbap or haejangguk lovers will probably think of this place easily.

## How big is Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk inside?

When I walked in, the interior was quite a bit bigger than I'd expected.

I got there a bit early, so I quickly snapped some interior photos before the crowd came in — sure enough, the seats filled up fast as time went on.

The tables weren't packed too tightly, and there was a mix of seating from tables for two up to larger groups. The overall wood tone gave it a clean, comfortable feel, and it didn't seem intimidating at all to come alone for a bowl of gukbap.

For anyone looking for gukbap near Suwon City Hall Station for a work lunch or a solo meal, this seemed like a solid option.

## Menu and prices at Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch

Of course, I ordered the haejangguk.

Looking at the menu at the time of my visit, the signature haejangguk was 12,000 won and naejangtang (tripe soup) was 13,000 won. Dombe pork came in small (13,000 won), medium (24,000 won) and large (35,000 won) sizes, and there were side dishes like seasoned tripe salad and blood cube soup too.

Since it was my first visit, I didn't overthink it and went straight for the signature haejangguk. A bubbling hot stone bowl of haejangguk looks filling just by itself. Prices and the menu lineup may change depending on when you visit, so it's worth double-checking before you go.

## What the self-serve corner stocks

While waiting for my food, I looked around and found the self-serve bar was well stocked too. You could take as much as you wanted of the basic side dishes and seasonings you'd need with haejangguk — diced radish kimchi, chili peppers, minced garlic, soybean paste.

I always feel a bit let down eating gukbap without diced radish kimchi, so it was nice that I could just grab more myself if I ran short. The tableware was neatly arranged too, and there was even a baby chair and baby spoon and fork, which looked great for families dining with kids.

None of these are huge perks on their own, but they quietly boost how satisfied you feel during the actual meal.

### Free extra rice with one dish per person

And the part I was happiest about! There was a sign in the restaurant saying rice refills are free with a one-person-one-dish order. You know that moment when there's broth left in your bowl and you want to mix in one more scoop of rice?

Especially with a style like the haejangguk I had that day — plenty of ingredients, spicy broth — the rice just disappears, so being able to get a free refill was really nice.

I liked that I didn't have to ration my rice from the start and could just eat a full, filling meal.

### Phone chargers you can borrow at the table

One slightly unexpected thing was that the restaurant had a power bank available. When you're out and about, your phone battery is often awkwardly low by mealtime, so it stood out that they'd prepared a power bank for guests who needed a charge.

Free rice refills, the self-serve bar, baby tableware, the power bank — taken all together, it felt like they'd thought carefully about what customers actually need.

## What comes with the 12,000-won haejangguk

Finally, my haejangguk arrived.

Set out with rice and the basic side dishes, it really looked like a proper meal. The stone bowl was topped with a generous pile of green onion, and flipping through it a bit revealed plenty of meat, glass noodles and other ingredients.

I'm the type who's a little disappointed when a gukbap is mostly broth with few ingredients, but here, every spoonful brought up something new, which I liked.

### Bean sprouts piled high in the soup

The first thing I noticed while eating was just how generous the bean sprouts were.

Scooping up the crunchy bean sprouts along with meat and glass noodles gave a great texture and made each spoonful pretty filling. The broth was spicy in a way that kept pulling my spoon back for more.

It seemed like the kind of flavor that would hit the spot on a morning when your stomach feels empty, or after a drink the night before when you need to recover — but it also worked well just as a hot, satisfying meal even without any drinking involved.

### Soy sauce with a dash of pepper for the meat

There's a soy sauce dip served alongside for the meat and other ingredients. I tried sprinkling some black pepper into it.

To my taste, adding pepper brought out more aroma and gave it a slightly sharper kick than eating it plain — it was delicious. A bite of haejangguk broth, then meat dipped in soy sauce, then a piece of diced radish kimchi in between — it was a combination that kept me reaching for more.

### Stirring the rice into the broth

After eating through most of the ingredients, the finishing move for gukbap is always the rice. Mixing rice into the spicy broth left me feeling properly full after finishing the bowl.

And as I mentioned, since rice refills are free with a one-person-one-dish order, this seemed great for anyone with a bigger appetite. If you're like me and like to finish every last bit of the broth, this is a detail you'll really appreciate.

## Is Jeju Eunhuine worth it for gukbap near Suwon City Hall Station?

Having been there myself, Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch isn't just a place to eat haejangguk and leave — there were quite a few little touches that made the meal comfortable.
