The friendly atmosphere made it easy for us to settle in too. The seats are round tables with chairs that have lids that open. Oh — the color looked great! After finishing that, we later added a serving of five-layer pork belly. When we asked for more kimchi at that point, they gave us a generous refill too. Being a 24-hour spot in Ilsan that also kindly and quickly handles special requests, it felt like a place you could visit comfortably even late at night. It had been a few weeks, but since we met up to celebrate her birthday, I really wanted to treat her to whatever she was craving — and before I could even bring it up, she immediately named this place, Auseong Gaeseong Sonmandu. Same price. Pork belly 200g and five-layer pork belly 200g are both ₩17,000! The five-layer pork belly had a chewier bit of fat at the end — also a nice treat. Even though it was just one serving, the portion was quite generous. We weren't drinking, but other tables were going hard on drinks and meat, and it seemed like they could keep going endlessly while chatting lol. We don't message often, but since we share hobbies like working out and reading, it was a comfortable meal even after not seeing each other for a while. Her wedding is in the first half of next year, so she's been busy prepping for that while also being swamped with work. This was right after she'd wrapped up a big chunk of work, so it was the perfect day to grab a meal together!
