Since we have an elementary-schooler, we always have to pick something everyone can eat together wherever we go. The store is fairly spacious, so it didn't feel too crowded even with people around, and we could get comfortably seated even during dinnertime. The set includes a meal course too, and what I liked was that each person could choose their own. Of the three of us, two went with gukbap (rice soup) and one with guksi (noodle soup). Rather than everyone getting the same dish, being able to pick according to taste like this seemed great even with a group. Put a piece of bossam on lettuce, add radish kimchi and garlic — I think that's just the combination bossam is meant for, haha. Hantiok's gukbap had a bit of a market-style feel, and eating rice with the warm broth made it definitely feel filling. If you're visiting with a kid like we did, I think a child would eat the guksi happily too. Sipping the broth with the noodles felt warm and light, and it seemed to cleanse the palate between bites of the richer bossam. Having these sides come along with the bossam set made the whole table look so much more generous. The tofu was mild, so it was nice to pick up a piece between bites of bossam, and the mandu arrived warm, good for having alongside the meal. We even piled kimchi on the tofu to make tofu-kimchi, haha. ## Is Hantiok a good spot for a family dinner with a kid? What I liked about Hantiok's bossam set this time was being able to enjoy a variety all at once — bossam, guksi or gukbap, mandu, and tofu — rather than sticking to just one dish. The store is spacious and clean, making it an easy choice for visiting with a kid or having a family meal.
