I was on the hunt for a good bakery in Songdo when I found Tomoru Bakery. It's near Songdo Central Park, so it's easy to stop by for bread, and it's also a good pairing with a walk in the park. Once I actually got there, the bread selection was way bigger than I expected, so I ended up browsing for a while. There were so many good-looking breads that picking was actually hard.

## Where is Tomoru Bakery, and is there parking?

Tomoru Bakery is close to Songdo Central Park, and there are outdoor terrace seats out front, so on a nice day you could probably enjoy your bread outside. Even if you drive, there's underground parking with up to 4 hours free, so parking wasn't a worry at all.

Walking into Tomoru Bakery, the first thing that caught my eye was, of course, the sheer variety of bread.

From white bread to baguettes, campagne, croissants and soboru (streusel-topped bun) to sandwiches, the range was really wide. As I browsed, I kept thinking "oh that looks good too, and I want to try that one too," so picking took quite a while.

It looks much neater than just tossing bread in a bag, so it seems like a nice option for gifting bread to family or friends. After a lot of deliberation, I ended up picking 6 breads in total.

The cucumber baguette caught my eye first just for its unusual name. A lot of other bakeries have been putting out cucumber baguettes lately too. There are plenty of cucumber haters out there, but I'm a cucumber lover, so I picked it up.

The baguette's mild, savory flavor combined with the cucumber's fresh, crunchy texture gave it a different kind of appeal from your usual sweet bread. The salted cucumber and cream cheese were really well matched.

I couldn't skip the soboru bread — you can't leave a bakery without one. The savory-sweet streusel topping matched well with the soft bread underneath, making it a solid basic to have with coffee.

Out of everything I tried, the clear winner was Tomoru Bakery's corn bread. Honestly, when the plain white bread at a bakery is good, you start expecting good things from everything else, and Tomoru Bakery's corn bread really delivered.

There was a subtle, sweet, savory corn aroma, and the bread itself was so soft that it was great just torn off and eaten plain. The fluffy, moist texture typical of white bread was especially good. I thought it would be perfect with a cup of coffee in the morning. Personally, I'd recommend the corn bread most as a weekend breakfast bread.

## Is Tomoru Bakery worth a stop in Songdo?

Tomoru Bakery had such a wide bread selection that picking was genuinely fun — a solid Songdo bakery. Every single bread I picked was delicious. Since it's close to Central Park, it's a great stop for a snack before heading out for a walk around Songdo Central Park.
