## In short

24-Hour Sopuri Yangpyeong Haejangguk is a 24-hour hangover soup restaurant in Jemulpo, Incheon. I had Yangpyeong haejangguk with only seonji and Korean beef head-meat gukbap, and loved the self-serve seonji refills. Verdict: a great pick for anyone who loves seonji and a clean, gently spicy broth.

I stopped by 24-Hour Sopuri Yangpyeong Haejangguk, Yeonan Pier General Fish Market Branch (24시소풀이양평해장국 연안부두종합어시장점), after going to Yeonan Pier and craving a hot bowl of soup. Since it is open 24 hours, you can eat from early morning until late, and the parking area was fairly spacious too. It is in a great spot for a meal after visiting Yeonan Pier or the general fish market.

The three of us ordered two Yangpyeong haejangguk and one Korean beef head-meat gukbap.

## Yangpyeong haejangguk with only seonji

Yangpyeong haejangguk normally comes with tripe and seonji (coagulated ox blood).

My husband ordered the regular Yangpyeong haejangguk, but I love seonji so much that I asked them to leave out the tripe and add only seonji. My soup arrived with plenty of big chunks of seonji.

![Yangpyeong haejangguk generously filled with seonji](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeonanbudu-seonji-haejangguk-sopuri/yeonanbudu-seonji-haejangguk-sopuri-04-1f2kk-900.webp)

I like seonji, so I have it now and then, and the seonji here was really good. You can tell right away when seonji is fresh: it had no off smell and was tender. What stayed with me just as much as the seonji was the broth. It was neither heavy nor murky—just incredibly clean. My husband said the broth in his regular Yangpyeong haejangguk was clean too.

Rather than being intensely hot and fiery, it leans toward a pleasantly spicy kick. There were a few Cheongyang peppers in it, so that kick built as I ate and kept me going back for more broth. It also had plenty of bean sprouts and scallions, which I scooped up with the seonji. My husband's Yangpyeong haejangguk had both tripe and seonji, so order it as is if you want the standard version.

## A self-serve bar with a whole pot of seonji

At the self-serve bar, I could take as much of the basic sides as I needed, including kimchi, kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), onions, and peppers.

What caught my eye here was the seonji. Seonji refills!!!😭😭👍🏻

Seonji was kept warm in a huge pot, so you could help yourself if you wanted more. Rice was also available for self-service, so there was no need to worry about not having enough food.

Since I love seonji, I ordered mine with only seonji from the start, and I really liked that I could get even more at the self-serve bar.

Minced chili peppers and seasoning were ready as well. The table guide explains how to add chili paste, chili oil, and pepper, so you can adjust it to your taste as you eat.

And along the wall, each table had a phone charging cable. Charging your phone while you eat—two birds with one stone.😆

## Korean beef head-meat gukbap with my child

For my child, we chose Korean beef head-meat gukbap. The milky broth came with beef head meat and scallions, plus thin wheat noodles on the side. I added the noodles to the soup, and my child ate much better than I expected, which was nice.

I tried the broth too, and it was rich but mild. It was full-bodied without being greasy or murky, and this broth was clean as well.

The meat was tender too. If you are with a child who cannot handle spicy food well, Korean beef head-meat gukbap would be a good order instead of Yangpyeong haejangguk. The parts that are hard for kids to eat naturally become the adults' share.👍🏻

Having both Yangpyeong haejangguk and Korean beef head-meat gukbap made the difference between them clear. Go for Yangpyeong haejangguk if you like a gently spicy broth with Cheongyang peppers, seonji, and tripe. Korean beef head-meat gukbap is a better match if you prefer a non-spicy, rich yet mild broth and tender meat.

## 24-hour hangover soup at Yeonan Pier

![Spacious restaurant interior with many tables](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeonanbudu-seonji-haejangguk-sopuri/yeonanbudu-seonji-haejangguk-sopuri-16-d4u5o-721.webp)

The restaurant was fairly spacious and had lots of tables. There is a separate sink by the entrance for washing your hands, as well as free coffee to enjoy after your meal.

Most of all, being open 24 hours makes it convenient to eat without worrying much about the time. It would also be a good option when you come grocery shopping at Yeonan Pier General Fish Market, or need somewhere to eat early in the morning while using the Incheon Port Coastal Passenger Terminal.

I had a cup of coffee on the way out too. Free bottled water is available if you want it! Our family took one and enjoyed it~~

For me, the Yangpyeong haejangguk with the tripe left out and only seonji added was definitely the tastiest. It had plenty of fresh seonji, and above all, the broth was clean. The gently spicy Cheongyang pepper flavor suited my palate too. The Korean beef head-meat gukbap was rich yet mild with tender meat, so my child ate it well.

If you are looking for a good restaurant at Yeonan Pier or somewhere for breakfast there, try 24-Hour Sopuri Yangpyeong Haejangguk, Yeonan Pier General Fish Market Branch. I recommend the Yangpyeong haejangguk if you love seonji!!
