## In short

Guksuhwa is a Korean restaurant on Sorae-ro in Namdong-gu, Incheon specialising in wang galbi guksu jeongol (king rib and noodle hot pot). A couple visited on a 1pm reservation, ordered the hot pot at 20,900 won per person, added rice paper wraps at 1,000 won for 6 sheets to wrap the rib meat with vegetables, then finished the pot with kalguksu (hand-cut noodles) and vegetable porridge. ## What kind of restaurant is Guksuhwa Namdong-gu Main Branch?

Guksuhwa is a rib galbi noodle hot pot restaurant at 565 Sorae-ro, Namdong-gu, Incheon. While looking for good restaurants in Namdong, I ended up at Guksuhwa this time. My husband and I made a lunch reservation and visited together, and from the clean interior to the spacious parking lot, the first impression was comfortable. We ordered the rib galbi noodle hot pot and had a hearty meal. The place is spacious and tidy with plenty of parking, so it's somewhere I'd like to recommend to anyone looking for good food in Namdong.

## Guksuhwa parking and opening hours

Guksuhwa is open daily from 11:00 to 21:30, with a break from 15:00 to 16:30. Last order is at 20:40, so keep that in mind before you visit. The building is neatly kept, so it catches your eye from a distance. Maybe because it was lunchtime, quite a few people were coming in.

There's a large parking lot in front of the building too. We visited with a 1pm reservation and the lot was already almost full. It's convenient to visit by car, which seems like an advantage for families too. There's also a pretty little terrace by the entrance where you can sit and rest for a moment.

## The entrance and first floor at Guksuhwa

![Guksuhwa entrance with dish nameplate](https://img.superchart.com/images/guksuhwa-namdong-galbi-jeongol-ssam/guksuhwa-namdong-galbi-jeongol-ssam-04-4633z-900.webp)

At the entrance hung a nameplate with the dish's name on it. We went into the first floor, but it was already full, so we headed upstairs to the second floor. Maybe because it was lunchtime, there were really a lot of guests overall.

### Second-floor floor-to-ceiling window seats

*Second floor*

The second floor at Guksuhwa was also nearly full except for our reserved table. This photo was taken on our way out once people had cleared out. The space is large, so it seems well-suited to anyone looking for a spot to dine with a group.

*Floor-to-ceiling windows and tidy interior*

The second floor has floor-to-ceiling windows, so eating there doesn't feel stuffy at all. The interior overall is clean and the tables are spaced generously, making for a comfortable meal. It seemed like a good spot for a group visit too.

## Guksuhwa menu and prices

Looking at the Guksuhwa menu, there was a wide range from noodle hot pots to bulgogi to shabu kalguksu. We ordered the signature dish, the rib galbi noodle hot pot. It came to ₩20,900 per person. The menu is varied, so it's worth checking out if you're exploring good food in Namdong.

### How Guksuhwa tells you to eat the hot pot

*How to enjoy it best*

After ordering, there was a detailed guide on how to eat it deliciously. As first-time visitors, it was helpful to see at a glance how to go about it.

## What comes in the king rib and noodle hot pot

![Rib galbi noodle hot pot set on the table](https://img.superchart.com/images/guksuhwa-namdong-galbi-jeongol-ssam/guksuhwa-namdong-galbi-jeongol-ssam-12-12gko-900.webp)
*Main dish*

After a short wait, today's main dish, the rib galbi noodle hot pot, was set on our table. It's a hot pot style dish that simmers at the center of the table as you eat. It looked so hearty from the start that it felt like a proper full spread.

### The three dipping sauces

Two sauces came for dipping the meat: soy sauce and chili sauce. There was also a third one, a garlic-heavy seasoned sauce, which turned out to be great mixed into the broth later when we ate the kalguksu.

### Salad, kalguksu noodles and porridge ingredients

Salad, kalguksu noodles, and ingredients for porridge all came out at once. It's not just the hot pot and done — you continue on with kalguksu and porridge, which felt like a really solid meal set.

The vegetables in the salad were fresh, and the tangerine had all its peel removed already. The care put into even small details made for a good start to the meal.

![Salad, kalguksu noodles and other side dishes on the table](https://img.superchart.com/images/guksuhwa-namdong-galbi-jeongol-ssam/guksuhwa-namdong-galbi-jeongol-ssam-13-17nq1-900.webp)

![Napa cabbage kimchi and yeolmu kimchi side dishes](https://img.superchart.com/images/guksuhwa-namdong-galbi-jeongol-ssam/guksuhwa-namdong-galbi-jeongol-ssam-14-pioeg-900.webp)

Napa cabbage kimchi and yeolmu (young radish) kimchi came along too. The kimchi was especially tasty and paired well with the hot pot.

Doesn't the hot pot piled high with rib galbi look hearty? I filmed it too, and the big chunks of rib galbi really stood out. It felt like I'd properly ordered a main dish at a good restaurant in Namdong.

## How the three ribs, beef tendon and shank taste

Guksuhwa's rib galbi noodle hot pot came with three large racks of rib galbi. The size of each rack was really substantial, making for a generous portion even for two people.

All the meat came already cooked, and we were kindly told it was fine to eat right away. We separated the bone from the meat and cut it into bite-sized pieces.

We started with the rib meat, and the texture was tender and easy to chew. Picking off pieces from the large ribs one by one made eating it fun. We also tried the broth, which had a clean galbitang (rib soup) flavor. Rather than being strongly seasoned, it was light and clean, which paired well with the rib galbi.

The hot pot also had beef tendon and shank in it. The tendon had a proper chewy, springy texture, and the shank had a subtle, savory, light flavor. Both were cooked tender, making it fun to pick through and eat.

We also picked out pieces of meat separated from the ribs one by one. The tender texture was even better dipped in sauce. Dipping the meat in sauce added more depth of flavor. Alternating between the soy sauce and chili sauce meant the same meat tasted a little different each time, so it never got boring.

We scooped up vegetables evenly and ate the brisket too. With meat, vegetables, and brisket all generously packed into one pot, we could taste a variety of things from a single pot. This kind of spread seemed great for an Incheon family gathering with several people sharing.

## Adding rice paper wraps: how to wrap the rib meat

![Extra order of rice paper wraps](https://img.superchart.com/images/guksuhwa-namdong-galbi-jeongol-ssam/guksuhwa-namdong-galbi-jeongol-ssam-15-ygb9r-900.webp)
*Added order*

Guksuhwa has rice paper wraps on the side menu, so we ordered extra at ₩1,000 for 6 sheets. My husband spotted the rice paper on the side menu while eating and said it seemed like it would pair well if we wrapped things with it.

![Dipping rice paper into the hot pot broth](https://img.superchart.com/images/guksuhwa-namdong-galbi-jeongol-ssam/guksuhwa-namdong-galbi-jeongol-ssam-16-vhwyc-900.webp)

![Rice paper wrap rolled with meat and vegetables](https://img.superchart.com/images/guksuhwa-namdong-galbi-jeongol-ssam/guksuhwa-namdong-galbi-jeongol-ssam-17-tojkp-900.webp)

We briefly dipped the rice paper into the simmering hot pot broth and took it out, then topped it with vegetables and meat and rolled it up. Making it was simpler than expected.

Wrapped in rice paper and dipped in chili sauce, the meat and vegetables paired really well together. I personally loved this combination so much I'd recommend ordering it if you can. If you want to enjoy rib galbi a little differently at a good restaurant in Namdong, this is a good way to try it.

We also scooped up plenty of sweet pumpkin, mushrooms, and bean sprouts. The vegetables cooked soft in the broth were tender and light, so I kept reaching for more.

## Finishing with kalguksu and vegetable porridge

After thoroughly finishing the meat, we added the kalguksu noodles to the broth. After eating the rib galbi and various ingredients, the broth flavor felt even deeper.

It would be a shame to skip the carbs. The noodles were springy and cooked quickly, pairing really well with the broth. After the hot pot and then the kalguksu, we were quite full.

We also tried mixing in the garlic seasoned sauce that came out at the start, adding it separately to the broth. It had a moderate spiciness with garlic aroma coming through, giving a different appeal from the clean broth we'd had at first. It paired well with the napa cabbage kimchi too.

![Vegetable porridge cooked in the hot pot broth](https://img.superchart.com/images/guksuhwa-namdong-galbi-jeongol-ssam/guksuhwa-namdong-galbi-jeongol-ssam-18-1cfxv-900.webp)

After finishing the kalguksu noodles, we ladled out some of the broth and added the vegetable porridge ingredients to cook. Being able to eat heartily right to the end made for a satisfying meal.

With egg yolk mixed in, it was really savory and smooth. It wasn't spicy at all, so it seemed like even young children would eat it well. It seemed like a fine finishing dish for a family meal together.

## Omija tea and facilities at Guksuhwa

![Omija tea served after the meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/guksuhwa-namdong-galbi-jeongol-ssam/guksuhwa-namdong-galbi-jeongol-ssam-19-7lv77-900.webp)
*Omija tea*

As the meal wound down, they brought out omija (schisandra berry) tea. It was refreshing and a nice way to finish the meal on a good note.

![Sunlit window seats on Guksuhwa's second floor](https://img.superchart.com/images/guksuhwa-namdong-galbi-jeongol-ssam/guksuhwa-namdong-galbi-jeongol-ssam-20-uratn-900.webp)

As we were leaving, I took another photo of the window seats once people had cleared out. Sunlight streamed in through the floor-to-ceiling windows and the overall vibe was clean and tidy, making it seem like a solid spot for an Incheon family gathering. There was a review event running too — participating got you ice cream. If you're able to write one, it might be worth doing after your meal.

Aprons were provided, and there were restrooms on both the first and second floors, which was convenient. These kinds of amenities matter a fair bit when visiting with family.

![Self-serve plum tea and coffee corner](https://img.superchart.com/images/guksuhwa-namdong-galbi-jeongol-ssam/guksuhwa-namdong-galbi-jeongol-ssam-22-138eb-900.webp)

Plum tea and coffee were also available, so I had a cup of plum tea on the way out. Guksuhwa also sells meal kits — there were several kinds you can prepare easily at home.

## Is Guksuhwa a good family gathering spot in Incheon?

*A place I'd like to bring my parents to*

We had the rib galbi noodle hot pot loaded with rib galbi, beef tendon, shank, brisket, and all kinds of vegetables. Going through rib galbi, then kalguksu, then vegetable porridge in order made for a satisfying, hearty meal, and the broth was clean throughout, so overall it was satisfying. The place is spacious and tidy, with plenty of parking, so it's somewhere I'd like to recommend to anyone looking for good food in Namdong.

We visited just the two of us, my husband and I, but next time I thought it would be nice to bring my parents along. It has a good atmosphere for dining with a group, so if you're looking for a family gathering spot in Incheon, this one's worth keeping in mind.
