Today, I went for an early dinner at Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Yeonsu Branch (베테랑 종합어시장 인천연수점) in Yeonsu-dong, Incheon. It is the season for delicious raw shrimp, so I had bouncy raw shrimp sashimi along with cool, sweet-and-tangy mulhoe (cold raw fish soup) for a hearty meal.

Along with sashimi, there were self-made pancakes, assorted basic side dishes, grilled saury, and corn cheese to enjoy. Ice cream and coffee were also available after the meal, so there was more variety than I expected—a great place to enjoy everything from a meal to dessert in one spot.

## Location and parking at Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Yeonsu Branch

Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Yeonsu Branch is on the third floor of Yeonsu Plaza at 106 Beotkkot-ro, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. It is close to Exit 4 of Yeonsu Station; once inside the building, I took the elevator to the third floor and easily spotted the directional signs and restaurant sign.

I drove and parked in the Yeonsu Plaza basement parking lot. Parking is available on basement levels 1, 2, and 3, with three hours free when using the restaurant. The elevator went straight up to the third floor, which made the route convenient.

## A spacious, tidy dining room

Once inside, the restaurant was more spacious than I expected. Wood-tone tables were arranged with plenty of room, and glass partitions divided the space, giving it a more orderly feel than a typical sashimi restaurant.

Every table had a smart-order device, so I could check menu photos and prices and order right from my seat. Beyond the main dining area, there were spaces suitable for larger groups too, so it looked like a nice option for family meals or gatherings.

## Sashimi said to be prepared by a chef with 30 years of experience

![Information sign about sashimi preparation](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeonsu-saeu-mulhoe-veteran-fishmarket/yeonsu-saeu-mulhoe-veteran-fishmarket-05-g4fet-900.webp)

There was also information about how Veteran General Fish Market prepares its sashimi. According to the restaurant introduction, a chef with 30 years of experience prepares the sashimi, ingredients are used up daily, and domestic live fish and seafood are used. It emphasized the importance placed on fresh ingredients and sashimi quality.

With flounder, rockfish, mullet, red sea bream, and a range of seasonal sashimi and seafood available, it seemed worth noting for anyone who values a broad menu when looking for a seafood restaurant near Yeonsu Station.

## Our raw shrimp sashimi and mulhoe order

- Small raw shrimp sashimi ₩35,000
- Mulhoe, one serving ₩18,000
- Chilsung Cider ₩2,000
- Total ₩55,000

The small raw shrimp sashimi came with 15 raw shrimp and grilled heads. Paired with the mulhoe, it was a great combination for two people to try a variety of things.

## Self-made pancakes, cooked right at the table

Veteran General Fish Market has a self-service bar where you can freely refill the basic side dishes.

There were ssam vegetables such as lettuce, perilla leaves, garlic, and peppers, along with kimchi, various side dishes, and sauces, so I could take as much as I needed.

Best of all was the self-made pancake corner! Batter, frying pans, and burners were ready, so I could make pancakes myself. Cooking them until golden and eating them right away made them warm and savory—perfect for whetting my appetite while waiting for the main dishes. There was a little fun in cooking them myself, too.

## A generous spread of basic side dishes

The basic spread included cabbage salad, a dressed mix of raw fish and vegetables, quail eggs, wasabi, and several other items.

The dressed raw fish and vegetable mix was refreshing, with crisp vegetables and chewy sashimi together, and it was nice to pick at before the main dishes arrived.

## Cool, sweet-and-tangy mulhoe

Mulhoe comes with one free initial serving of somyeon (thin wheat noodles). If you would like more somyeon, there is an extra charge, so keep that in mind.

The large bowl was generously filled with sashimi, lettuce, cucumber, onion, radish sprouts, and other vegetables, topped with flying fish roe and crushed seaweed.

Mixed evenly into the cold broth, it was sweet, tangy, and refreshing, with crunchy vegetables and chewy sashimi that went really well together.

After eating some, I added the included somyeon and gave it a good mix.

The tangy mulhoe broth soaked nicely into the noodles, making it another treat. With the sashimi, vegetables, and somyeon, even one serving of mulhoe was quite filling.

It was a great choice when you are craving cool mulhoe in Incheon during the summer.

## Today’s star: bouncy raw shrimp sashimi

![Plate of raw shrimp sashimi on ice](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeonsu-saeu-mulhoe-veteran-fishmarket/yeonsu-saeu-mulhoe-veteran-fishmarket-17-9kbq2-1200.webp)

And then the raw shrimp sashimi I had been waiting for arrived! The raw shrimp were neatly laid out on ice, and just looking at them, they had that wonderfully bouncy appearance. Grilled heads, flying fish roe, and sauce came alongside, making the plate itself quite generous.

The raw shrimp had a firm yet tender bite as soon as I put them in my mouth, and their subtle natural sweetness came through the more I chewed.

They were delicious on their own, but dipping them in the spicy, savory sauce—which had a feeling similar to Buldak mayo—really brought out the umami.

Then I added a dab of flying fish roe for one bite! The bouncy shrimp, popping roe, and spicy, savory sauce made for such a good combination in both texture and flavor. Of everything I ate that day, the raw shrimp sashimi was personally the most memorable.

If you enjoy seasonal raw shrimp in Incheon, it is a combination worth trying at least once.

![Crispy fried shrimp heads](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeonsu-saeu-mulhoe-veteran-fishmarket/yeonsu-saeu-mulhoe-veteran-fishmarket-20-49ydk-900.webp)

The fried shrimp heads served with the sashimi were another standout. They were crisply fried, with a deeply savory aroma, and the more I ate, the more I kept reaching for them because of their crunch and characteristic shrimp umami. After enjoying the bouncy texture of the raw shrimp, getting to eat the heads crispy too made the plate feel even more complete.

## Corn cheese and grilled saury, too

Corn cheese and grilled saury also came with the shrimp sashimi, making the spread even more generous. The golden-grilled saury was mild and nutty, while the hot corn cheese was soft and sweet, making both nice accompaniments between bites of sashimi. Being able to eat warm dishes too, rather than only cold sashimi and mulhoe, made the meal feel more substantial.

## Ice cream and coffee after the meal

![After-meal ice cream and coffee area](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeonsu-saeu-mulhoe-veteran-fishmarket/yeonsu-saeu-mulhoe-veteran-fishmarket-21-1tm1m-900.webp)

![Ice cream dessert corner](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeonsu-saeu-mulhoe-veteran-fishmarket/yeonsu-saeu-mulhoe-veteran-fishmarket-22-tag16-900.webp)

Even after finishing such a filling meal, it was not over yet.

A freezer on one side let us scoop as much ice cream as we wanted into a cup. A sweet dessert time that the child loved, too!

![Coffee machine and dedicated table](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeonsu-saeu-mulhoe-veteran-fishmarket/yeonsu-saeu-mulhoe-veteran-fishmarket-23-9z0l2-900.webp)

There was also a separate coffee machine, so I could make a hot cup and relax over it slowly at the coffee-only table. I liked that the dining and coffee areas were separate, and it was convenient to have ice cream and coffee in the same place without having to go looking for a café.

## My meal review of the raw shrimp sashimi and mulhoe

![Full spread with raw shrimp sashimi and mulhoe](https://img.superchart.com/images/yeonsu-saeu-mulhoe-veteran-fishmarket/yeonsu-saeu-mulhoe-veteran-fishmarket-24-mhjsk-900.webp)

After ordering the raw shrimp sashimi and mulhoe together, the full spread was much more substantial than I had expected. The bouncy raw shrimp were delicious on their own, but pairing them with the spicy, savory sauce and flying fish roe added that wonderful popping texture and made them even better.

Along with the cool, sweet-and-tangy mulhoe and somyeon, there was grilled saury, corn cheese, basic side dishes, and self-made pancakes, so it was fun choosing from all the different things to eat.

With ice cream and coffee after the meal, a spacious dining room, and three hours of free basement parking, it was convenient to visit with family, too. If you are looking for a seafood restaurant in Yeonsu-dong or near Yeonsu Station, it is one to remember—especially if you love seasonal Incheon raw shrimp.
