It’s Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch. This wasn’t a place where we tried it once and thought, “Not bad~” and left it at that—we ate there once, loved it, went again, then went back because we were craving it again, lol. Lol. Our family of four visited that day, and I ordered an extra-large kalguksu for the kids. Honestly, when ordering, I thought, “If they share it, there’ll probably be a little left, right?” But no... they finished it all, lol. My older daughter especially went all in that day. I served her small portions on a side plate; after one plate, “More!” After two plates, “More!” Hahaha. In the end, she ate a whopping five side plates’ worth. At the end she asked for more again, and I had to stop her: “Hey... your little sibling needs some too...” lol. And kalguksu can’t be all about the broth, right? The noodles have to be good, too. Eonyang Dak Kalguksu uses aged, house-made noodles, and they definitely have bounce rather than turning soft and mushy. The rich chicken broth clings to the noodles, so they aren’t bland even on their own, and when you scoop them up with the broth, you just keep eating. Kimchi is really important at a kalguksu place. Even if the noodles are great, questionable kimchi makes the whole meal far less satisfying, but the kimchi here is delicious too. It isn’t overly wilted; it has a lively crunch and a refreshing flavor. Take a bite of kalguksu noodles, top it with a piece of kimchi, and eat it—ah... it’s the Korean happiness button, lol. Looking through public reviews, I saw frequent mentions that the restaurant makes kimchi fresh every day and offers spicy and milder kimchi separately at the self-service bar. Personally, I think I keep craving this place because the broth, noodles, and kimchi are such a solid trio. For two toddlers and two big-eating adults, we got three extra-large bowls!! Haha. But there’s no need to say that here. We are already visiting again and again, lol. Seeing my older daughter eat five side plates that time, I thought, ah... this place won’t be leaving our family’s rotation anytime soon, lol. Our family is, well... officially regulars already, lol. We’ll have to order extra-large bowls next time, too. Actually... judging by how much my older daughter eats, even one extra-large bowl might not be enough nowㅠㅠㅠ. ### A generous, satisfying meal At this level, the value feels satisfying too. And once you finish eating, the portion is quite generous and filling. There is plenty of chicken and the noodle portion is not lacking; ordered extra-large, it is enough to fill up both our five- and three-year-olds, lol. In visitor ratings as well, I found comments praising not only the taste but also the value, saying a bowl of chicken kalguksu makes for a hearty meal. These days, when a family of four eats out, I’m genuinely startled every time the bill comes,ㅠㅠㅠ.
