## In short

India The Durbar Samseong Station Branch is an Indian restaurant in a basement space on Samseong-ro 84-gil in Gangnam, Seoul, a short walk from Coex mall. On a weekend visit after a baby fair, the order was India The Durbar Set C (palak paneer and butter chicken makhani) with an added green salad, plus chicken mushroom soup and boneless tandoori chicken. The portions were more than enough for two, and the nearby public parking lots are free on weekends, which makes India The Durbar an easy stop after Coex.

We visited India The Durbar Samseong Station Branch (인디아더르바르 삼성역점) after checking out a baby fair at Coex and looking for somewhere good to eat nearby! My wife and I had eaten at an Indian restaurant together before and remembered it being so delicious, so we decided to go for it!

## Where to park for India The Durbar near Coex

India The Durbar Samseong Station Branch doesn't have its own parking, so we used the nearby public parking lot! We happened to visit on a weekend, and it turns out the public lot is free on weekends — a lucky bonus haha.

India The Durbar Samseong Station Branch is located in the basement! Right from the entrance, a model of an Indian figure greets you haha.

In front of the entrance, the Taj Mahal — one of India's most famous tourist sites — greets you first! Definitely a place you should visit at least once before you die...!

## Inside India The Durbar: interior and seating

The inside of India The Durbar Samseong Station Branch was quite neatly arranged! There were plenty of tables, and it looked like it could handle a lot of guests even on a busy day!

Reservations seemed to be possible too, and we took the seats the owner showed us to!

## The menu and our order: India The Durbar Set C

The menu was much bigger than I expected! I was even surprised to see fried rice, pasta, and fried noodles on it! We had something specific in mind today so we didn't order those, but I definitely want to try them next time!

- India The Durbar Set C
- Curry 1 – Palak Paneer
- Curry 2 – Butter Chicken Makhani
- Green salad

### The added green salad

The first thing brought out was the salad we'd added on. The green salad is described as a fresh seasonal vegetable salad. As you can see, the vegetables themselves were very fresh, and it came drizzled generously with a yuzu-like tangy dressing — perfect as an appetizer!

### Chicken mushroom soup and boneless tandoori chicken

Next came the chicken mushroom soup! It was less intense than the usual mushroom soup we're used to, but with a nutty chicken flavor coming through, so it was easy on the stomach without being too strong. Personally I really loved it!

And then the boneless tandoori chicken. At other places I've had to fuss with picking meat off the bone, but the tandoori chicken at India The Durbar Samseong Station Branch is boneless, so it was so easy and pleasant to eat! Squeezing a bit of the lemon that came with it on top and dipping into the sauce really maximized the flavor haha. So good, as expected!

## Palak paneer and butter chicken makhani: is Set C enough for two?

Finally the main curries came out along with naan and rice! The portion is substantial for two people! We don't usually eat small portions, but even we were a bit overwhelmed haha. On top of that, the naan was crispy with little oiliness, which we loved!

Palak paneer is made with a base of Indian cheese and spinach, while butter chicken makhani has a tomato cream base! Fresh cream was drizzled generously over the curries, which actually made it feel even more authentically Indian. A candle was placed underneath the curries too, so we could enjoy them warm the whole time — such a nice touch!

Both curries were packed with hearty fillings and equally delicious, just in different ways! Palak paneer felt like eating a healthy, organic curry, while butter chicken makhani had that rich, buttery curry vibe that people of all ages would love! Both had generous amounts of cheese and chicken, so there was plenty to keep scooping up haha.

Dipping the naan that came with it and mixing the two curries together was also delicious! The curries at India The Durbar Samseong Station Branch were tasty no matter how you ate them!

## Is India The Durbar near Coex worth a visit?

We even mixed the rice in thoroughly at the end haha. Throughout the meal, delivery order alerts kept going off nonstop! When we walked in we were basically the first customers, but by the time we left the place was packed! Since we live nearby, we'll definitely be ordering or visiting again whenever we're craving Indian food!

Open daily 11:00–23:00, last order 22:30.
