Haemokjeong Yeonsu Main Branch is a seafood and galbijjim (braised rib) restaurant on the 2nd floor of 120 Beotkkonro, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. It's a place where you can eat seafood and meat at the same time, and you can choose your spice level.

Haemokjeong has been getting popular lately, and I'd really wanted to go once — I finally had the time and went with a friend. Overall the food tasted really good, and I loved that I could eat so much at such a good price. Let me leave a review haha~

It's about a 3-minute walk from Sinyeonsu station on the Suin-Bundang Line. You just get off the subway and cross the crosswalk, so the route was really convenient. Even as my first time going, it was very easy to find.

The parking lot is inside the building and pretty spacious. I thought it'd be fine to drive there too. Ah, so abalone seafood galbijjim is the signature dish haha. My friend and I had already made plans, so we hurried inside.

## Inside Haemokjeong: hall, rooms and seating

Inside, Haemokjeong Yeonsu Main Branch has a wide hall plus an inner annex-style room, so it's big enough for group dinners too. Since it's on the 2nd floor, you go up a staircase.

Once inside, it was even bigger than it looked from outside. The wide hall felt really grand, and there were so many customers.

There's a separate hall, but there's also an inner annex-style room, and that was also packed with guests.

The staff were all so kind — even while clearly busy, they still carried a warmth about them. I'd made a reservation beforehand and was shown to my seat. So many people having group dinners here haha.

At the entrance there was this nicely maintained tank full of fresh seafood and abalone. It was kept so clean that everything felt really fresh. They seem to manage it really well.

The self-serve bar was also really well kept — clean, hygienic, and the side dishes were plentiful, never running short. I got the feeling the staff pay close attention to every detail.

Time to seriously pick a menu. There was an event running too — save the location and leave a review, and they give you a drink, so definitely do that if you go.

## How was the 35,000-won spicy anglerfish stew?

What I ordered at Haemokjeong Yeonsu Main Branch was the spicy anglerfish stew (agwijjim), 35,000 won. You can adjust the spice level, and it came with sea urchin seaweed soup as the basic side dish.

While debating what to eat, I heard the agwijjim here is really that good, so I ordered it spicy.

And such a good price — 35,000 won! It's hard to eat this much seafood this affordably... genuinely such a good deal. Good good!

After ordering, the basic side dish came out shortly after — a seaweed soup, and turns out it was sea urchin seaweed soup. Tasting it, the ocean fragrance spread right through, the broth was so refreshing.

And then the agwijjim came out. Oh, the portion was bigger than I expected, and the seasoning had soaked in so well it looked completely mouthwatering haha. The kind of taste that gets your saliva going.

I've had agwijjim at plenty of seafood stew specialty places before, but I'd say this was easily the best agwijjim I've had at Haemokjeong Yeonsu Main Branch so far. Being able to adjust the spice level was great, but also the anglerfish meat itself was so tender and chewy.

On top of that, because it's made with a special sauce, there was this savory depth to it. There were rice cakes inside too, which made it even chewier and satisfying to eat.

The roe, which was the real highlight, was plump and packed full, with really good texture when you bite into it. It was the kind of taste that kept my hands reaching back for more — genuinely such a great dinner with my friend.

## Is Haemokjeong good for a group dinner or a date?

Haemokjeong Yeonsu Main Branch has a really spacious, comfortable restaurant, so it's well suited as a group dinner spot too. I left full and satisfied — a really solid, filling meal that day.

What's especially good is that this is a place where you can eat seafood and ribs, plus stews or soups, all together — so everyone can eat according to their own taste. If you live in Yeonsu-dong or work nearby, I'd recommend coming here at least once! That was Haemokjeong Yeonsu Main Branch.
