## In short

Jeonbokchon is a Korean restaurant near Yesulhoegwan Station in Namdong, Incheon, serving abalone course meals. Three coworkers booked a private room after work and worked through a ₩39,000 abalone course meal — abalone porridge, abalone sashimi, abalone sushi, and abalone jang, plus beef bulgogi, grilled fish, and seaweed soup for dessert. The quiet room and attentive staff made it a great pick for a team dinner or family gathering.

I heard there was a place in the neighborhood where you could eat abalone dishes without breaking the bank, so I went after work with some coworkers. Getting to try all kinds of abalone dishes was already great, but the staff's kindness was just as satisfying — let me introduce it.

## Jeonbokchon basic info and location

It's close to both Incheon City Hall and the Guwol-dong CGV, so it's convenient even by public transit — if you take the subway, it's about a 7-minute walk from Yesulhoegwan Station on Line 1.

On weekdays only, there's a dinner special for ₩19,900. Genuinely a great price — I was surprised. Abalone for basically pocket change, haha, it really is a steal.

This restaurant has already been featured on several media outlets, so it's already a local hot spot! It has quite a bit of recognition around here.

It's built up a long-standing reputation from running steadily at the same spot for years, but abalone as the special main menu item, combined with the great value, is clearly what's driving its popularity.

## Booked a room, visited with two others

I booked ahead, so we were shown to a separate private room and could eat quietly — I really recommend reserving in advance if you're going. You get to eat privately in the room.

There were three of us that day. We were shown to a room with the AC blasting nicely and sat down — the room was way bigger than expected, giving a real sense of openness. Even with some larger-built people in our group, there was zero discomfort, it was plenty spacious, haha.

## Menu and abalone course meal price

![Jeonbokchon course meal menu board](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeonbokchon-incheon-city-hall-abalone-set/jeonbokchon-incheon-city-hall-abalone-set-08-5to1r-900.webp)

The menu had a lot of course meal options, and I was so excited trying to decide what to order. Since there were three of us, we picked the abalone course meal!

![Menu listing the ₩39,000 abalone course meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeonbokchon-incheon-city-hall-abalone-set/jeonbokchon-incheon-city-hall-abalone-set-09-977sm-900.webp)

The set came with not just abalone dishes but also beef bulgogi, fried items, and dessert — a substantial full spread. At ₩39,000, it's still not a heavy price, and felt like a fair price for a Korean course meal in Incheon.

## From abalone porridge to abalone sashimi, sushi, and jang

Once we ordered, the dishes started coming out fast and in sequence — the staff's hands really moved quickly. Starting with abalone porridge (jeonbok-juk) to settle our stomachs, one dish after another appeared in an unrelenting parade of food, haha.

The abalone sashimi (jeonbok-hoe) was so fresh. With such good turnover, you could really taste that ocean freshness — it was great.

Oh, and as they brought each dish, they also gave a brief explanation of what it was, so we knew what we were eating — a nice bonus!

Abalone sushi: the abalone was boiled well and placed over rice, with a chewy texture that was so, so good. The rice was also properly made sushi rice, easy to eat. The pieces were a good size — not too big, not too small — so we could eat plenty and feel full.

Abalone jang (marinated abalone): I've had plenty of marinated shrimp and crab, but abalone jang was new to me, so I was really curious about the flavor. It's abalone in a tangy marinade, but not too salty, making it a great drinking snack. Yep — the resident drinker in our group approves, haha.

As dish after dish was set down, the whole table filled up completely. I'd thought the table was really big, haha, but once the food was laid out it felt packed!

Since dishes were plated as they were ordered, we got to eat everything nice and hot, which was a big plus — and the elegant plating made everything look even better.

That's probably why so many families come here for gatherings too — I could really see why.

## Beef bulgogi and grilled fish, even for non-abalone eaters

There were also plenty of dishes for people who can't eat abalone.

![Side dishes served alongside the abalone course meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/jeonbokchon-incheon-city-hall-abalone-set/jeonbokchon-incheon-city-hall-abalone-set-19-uba8z-900.webp)

In particular, the beef bulgogi in this course meal came with a small brazier so it stayed hot to the very last bite. The portion was pretty generous too.

On top of that, the crispy grilled fish was crunchy outside and soft and moist inside — really good. The sauce on top made it even better, but it was genuinely delicious even plain.

## Dessert to finish: rice and seaweed soup

And the final dessert course: warm rice, served along with basic side dishes and seaweed soup (miyeok-guk), so we could eat heartily right to the end.

The seaweed soup was genuinely refreshing and the rice was so nicely sticky it felt like home cooking — I ended up totally stuffed. Getting seaweed soup at the end made me feel pampered, like it was my birthday, haha. Alright, let's just say today was my birthday, haha.

The atmosphere was great, the food was seriously high quality, and being able to eat quietly in a private room made this such a satisfying place — that was Jeonbokchon.
