## In short

Bupyeong Pocha is an indoor tent-bar-style drinking spot near Exit 5 of Bupyeong Station in Incheon, open for 15 years. On a repeat visit the raw fish mulhoe (cold raw fish soup) and octopus stir-fry set cost 40,000 won, and the free snacks alone — mussel and bean sprout soup, corn mayo and an old-school lunchbox — were enough to finish a bottle of soju. For the quality and the portions, Bupyeong Pocha is an easy budget pick in Bupyeong for a first or second round of the night.

## Where is Bupyeong Pocha and when is it open?

Bupyeong Pocha is an indoor tent-bar-style eatery at 35 Gyeongwon-daero 1367beon-gil, 1F, Bupyeong-gu, Incheon. It's open daily from 16:00 to 02:00, with Friday and Saturday closing at 03:00, and paid parking runs ₩2,000 per hour. You can reserve through Naver or Catch Table, but corkage isn't allowed and ordering alcohol is required.

Today I want to introduce Bupyeong Pocha, which I revisited. I first went ages ago when a friend and I were trying to decide what to eat and found a place that serves mulhoe (cold raw fish soup) — this time I'm back with the mulhoe and octopus stir-fry set .ᐟ

The place is closest to Exit 5 of Bupyeong Station, and also close to Exits 16 and 27 of the Bupyeong Modu Mall underground arcade.

## Inside Bupyeong Pocha, a budget bar near Bupyeong Station

![Indoor tent-bar-style tables at Bupyeong Pocha](https://img.superchart.com/images/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set-02-w6mvt-900.webp)

There are about 8 tables inside Bupyeong Pocha, and the indoor tent-bar vibe is everywhere.

![Retro-style water glasses at Bupyeong Pocha](https://img.superchart.com/images/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set-03-eyyg4-900.webp)

Even the water glasses have that retro feel.. everyone kept asking if these were really just water glasses, so cute haha

## Bupyeong Pocha menu and prices

![Menu board listing mulhoe and stir-fried dishes at Bupyeong Pocha](https://img.superchart.com/images/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set-04-17rwp-900.webp)

The menu at Bupyeong Pocha, a budget-friendly Bupyeong bar, starts with mulhoe, hoemuchim (spicy mixed raw fish), and plain sashimi, then moves into stir-fried dishes like jeyuk bokkeum (spicy stir-fried pork) and nakji bokkeum (octopus stir-fry), plus a variety of soups and sides — lots of choices .ᐟ I ordered the raw fish mulhoe + stir-fry set, which was ₩40,000.

![Side dish menu board with tofu kimchi and odeng-tang](https://img.superchart.com/images/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set-05-1c6ev-900.webp)

The side dish lineup is solid too. Tofu kimchi, odeng-tang (fish cake soup), cheese egg roll, tteokbokki — all reasonably priced, so you can enjoy drinks without breaking the bank 𓂃 I only realized from the menu board that Bupyeong Pocha has been around for 15 years.

![Menu board showing crab ramyeon and highballs](https://img.superchart.com/images/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set-06-167fz-m-900.webp)

I wanted the crab ramyeon but noticed it too late.. 🥺 Next time I'll order the crab ramyeon and ask for kimchi on the side. They also have highballs — plain, mango, and blueberry — so it's a good spot even if you're more of a highball person than a soju drinker.

![Menu board for medium and large sweet shrimp portions](https://img.superchart.com/images/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set-07-1o11c-900.webp)

You know sweet shrimp season is coming, right? There's actually a Bupyeong bar that serves sweet shrimp?! Nice that they have medium and large sizes too. Grilled sweet shrimp with butter is unbeatable..*

![Menu board for the mulhoe dishes at Bupyeong Pocha](https://img.superchart.com/images/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set-08-nrndt-900.webp)

I've had the raw fish mulhoe every time I've come, but next time I'll come back for the sweet shrimp and crab ramyeon *__*

## The free snacks: an old-school Korean lunchbox

![Free side dish spread with mussel bean sprout soup, corn mayo, and old-school lunchbox](https://img.superchart.com/images/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set-09-1x7zr-900.webp)

The free side dishes at Bupyeong Pocha are mussel bean sprout soup, corn mayo, and an old-school lunchbox. See how generous the free spread is — all of this comes standard at Bupyeong Pocha ♡

![Old-school lunchbox served as a free side dish](https://img.superchart.com/images/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set-10-1gn3w-900.webp)

The coworkers I went with even asked if we'd ordered a separate lunchbox .ᐟ

Our senior colleague shaking the lunchbox with real enthusiasm

![Old-school lunchbox after being shaken and mixed](https://img.superchart.com/images/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set-11-1ivle-900.webp)

Mix it all up and it's enough to nearly finish a whole bottle on the free sides alone.

## How does the 40,000-won mulhoe and octopus stir-fry set taste?

![Raw fish mulhoe served first from the set at Bupyeong Pocha](https://img.superchart.com/images/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set-12-1xkgg-900.webp)

The raw fish mulhoe came out first from the set. It has that popular crowd-pleasing taste, similar to a famous bibim-myeon sauce, and the fish slices were thick with a nice chew to them.

![Close-up of raw fish mulhoe loaded with vegetables](https://img.superchart.com/images/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set-13-16le7-900.webp)

Loaded with a variety of vegetables, and everything felt fresh and satisfying ˚₊‧⁺

![Raw fish mulhoe mixed together](https://img.superchart.com/images/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set-14-zbgzf-900.webp)

We mixed it all together and shared it happily.

![A bowl of raw fish mulhoe served out](https://img.superchart.com/images/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set-15-15t09-900.webp)

The octopus stir-fry — better than expected, and my first time trying it here.

![Octopus stir-fry topped with julienned perilla leaves at Bupyeong Pocha](https://img.superchart.com/images/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set-16-1dnlk-900.webp)

Plenty of thin noodles, plenty of octopus, and even a hint of smoky wok flavor — really satisfying. The julienned perilla leaves on top were also amazing, ugh.

![Octopus stir-fry plate served with thin noodles](https://img.superchart.com/images/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set-17-10sdg-900.webp)

A mulhoe and octopus stir-fry set for ₩40,000 — with this quality and portion size, this counts as a legit budget-friendly bar.

![Full spread of the mulhoe and octopus stir-fry set](https://img.superchart.com/images/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set-18-fq1wt-900.webp)

These are the noodle add-ins for the mulhoe. Thin noodles pair perfectly with the broth-style mulhoe.

![Noodle add-ins for the mulhoe](https://img.superchart.com/images/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set-19-1r0hz-900.webp)

They have jeyuk (spicy pork) too, but if the octopus is this good, the pork must be delicious as well.

## Bupyeong Pocha review event: a free bottle of soju or beer

![Sign explaining the Naver receipt review event](https://img.superchart.com/images/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set-20-jo6k4-900.webp)

Write a Naver receipt review and get a free bottle of soju or beer .ᐟ There are conditions, so check them before you go.

![Wall covered in bottle caps at Bupyeong Pocha](https://img.superchart.com/images/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set/bupyeong-pocha-hoe-mulhoe-nakji-set-21-epdpp-900.webp)

The wall covered in countless bottle caps says it all — this is a well-known bar in Bupyeong. I'd recommend Bupyeong Pocha in Incheon's Bupyeong area whether it's your first stop of the night or your second.
