I was hunting for a Sangok Station restaurant and found Myeongmun Restaurant! I visited through Superchart after working late, wanting dinner, and was surprised to find the best frozen pork belly spot in the whole area. If you're reading this post, congrats — you found a Sangok Station BBQ place that doesn't even show up in search ..♡ Here's my Myeongmun Restaurant review!

## Where is Myeongmun Restaurant? Hours, parking and directions

Myeongmun Restaurant is at 348 Majang-ro, 1st floor, Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, right in front of Exit 7 of Sangok Station on Line 7. It's open Mon–Sat 14:00–24:00, Sundays 14:00–22:00, and you can also book through Naver Reservation.

Parking is available nearby but pretty pricey, so I'd recommend public transit! (Close enough to Sangok Station Exit 7 that you could practically lie down and touch it, and there are a ton of buses nearby.)

Come out of Sangok Station Exit 7, tilt your head slightly to the right, and there it is — Myeongmun Restaurant! I commute on foot and can't believe I never noticed this place before. My restaurant radar must have been off ㅠ

The standing signboard was off so I worried they were closed, but they actually stay open every day except major holidays!!!

## Inside Myeongmun Restaurant: is it good for a group dinner in Sangok-dong or Bupyeong?

Myeongmun Restaurant is a cozy old-school BBQ joint with about 10 tables, and it was still packed at 9:30 on a weekday night. I barely managed to snap a photo of the interior after checking out. The place isn't huge — about 10 tables, just the right size for the owner to run solo.

One thing I liked right away: the tables are wide and the grills are big. The chairs are comfortable too. The back has 4-person seats, while seats near the door are more communal, so it seemed like a lot of people come here for Bupyeong dinners and Sangok gatherings!! Being there in person, the vibe felt as comfortable as an old-school neighborhood place — good for family get-togethers or meals with friends 👍🏻 The day I visited, it was mostly grown men, haha.

You know a place is legit when it's a regular spot for older guys. That's when I got the gut feeling that I'd found somewhere really good.

Since it was our first visit, we went with the most famous signature dish, naengkkotsamgyeop 🍽️ I'd read reviews mentioning they have a machine for slicing the frozen pork and that some people come just to buy it to take home, so I was excited. Naengkkotsamgyeop was also a name I'd never heard before.

After ordering, they set the table like this while we waited a bit. So many good combos to eat with the meat — you could keep going to the last bite without getting tired of it! 🥩 Let me say this upfront.

I honestly think that alone is reason enough to come back here again.

Once the grill heats up enough, they lay it on like this and coolly walk away, ha ha. After that you don't need to touch it! It won't burn.

Any extra side dishes you can grab from the self-serve bar in front of the kitchen (chilgejang excluded — that's an extra ₩2,000).

## What is naengkkotsamgyeop? Boseong Nokdon flash-frozen pork belly

And then out came the naengkkotsamgyeop!! I'd never seen 'flower' pork belly before — the round, pretty slices 🕊️ Apparently it's more moist and tender than regular frozen pork belly. The visual alone, with its vivid color, made it feel fresh even before grilling.

On top of that, Myeongmun Restaurant uses fresh Boseong Nokdon pork, so the price runs a bit higher, but the flavor is guaranteed! ☻ The naengkkotsamgyeop is made by flash-freezing fresh Boseong Nokdon pork belly, giving it a texture that melts in your mouth, while the aged fresh pork belly is doenjang-aged Boseong Nokdon, savory and chewy — good to know, haha.

Once you put the frozen pork on the hot grill, it cooks fast. That's the whole point of eating frozen pork — you get to eat quickly ꔛ

No gamey smell at all while grilling, and you can tell just by looking how soft and moist the meat is, right? The grain stays visible as it cooks, so it's fun to watch too! There are tons of BBQ places around Sangok Station, but none of them have this naengkkotsamgyeop. Better be good... I'm coming every week...

## How to grill naengkkotsamgyeop properly at Myeongmun Restaurant

Once the meat is partway cooked, the owner suddenly appears and dramatically fries up the bean sprouts,

then casually drops it onto your small plate. Eating it right then is just . . . heaven. That sauce is unreal. One bite in and I got exactly why this is called a Sangok Station must-visit.

### Doenjang sul-bap and fried rice at Myeongmun Restaurant

No pork belly meal is complete without doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) 🍚 We ordered doenjang sul-bap to fill up on carbs (honestly, we could've come just for this) and asked for it slightly spicy!

It's packed with mushrooms, zucchini, tofu, and onion, the rice is cooked down until soft, and the broth is rich and savory enough that you just keep eating it!

More meat added... endless refills . . . I usually love grilling frozen pork belly slightly crispy, almost like a chip, but Myeongmun Restaurant's naengkkotsamgyeop was best eaten soft and tender, wrapped up right away ✎⁾⁾⁾

This one was so good we ordered it again when we added more meat ;; gotta wrap it up ;;; I've always been the type who eats frozen pork belly wrapped and dusted with pepper, no exceptions, but after tasting this flower pork belly at Myeongmun Restaurant, my husband's and my whole frozen-pork-belly worldview changed ....🤎 And funny thing — when we ordered more meat, we made a fuss asking if the bean sprout salad could be packed to go, going on about how good it was,

and suddenly the owner just packed a whole bag of bean sprouts and sauce for us ㅠㅠ It's been a while since I met such a generous owner . . .❤︎ ❤︎ ❤︎ We're going camping with another couple in a couple weeks and I'm 100% getting meat to-go from Myeongmun Restaurant, plus this, for it .... ㅠㅠ I have to spread the word 🔥

## Meat to go and chilgejang takeout

> Myeongmun Restaurant also does separate takeout meat orders, and if you order meat they'll give you this bean sprout dish too — call and ask!!!

Also, that chilgejang (marinated crab) I mentioned earlier — apparently a lot of customers get it to go too (250g for ₩12,000). It's the owner's own special dish that you don't usually see at pork belly restaurants, so if you visit Myeongmun Restaurant, I'd recommend trying it.

I got so happy that I randomly ordered fried rice too, haha (wait, what?). Can't let the soju go to waste.

## Looking for a meat restaurant in Sangok-dong or Cheongcheon-dong, Bupyeong?

The owner was incredibly kind, and on top of that, the fresh flavor of the domestic naengkkotsamgyeop... that bean sprout chive salad... the ₩2,000 soju... honestly, every part of this place was satisfying.

We've walked all over Sangok Station, Sangok-dong, and Cheongcheon-dong, and there really aren't many places we'd give a full 5 stars to. I'm pretty picky, so my ceiling is usually 4.5, but Myeongmun Restaurant near Sangok Station is a place I want to go back to whenever I'm craving frozen pork belly, even though it's 15 minutes from home. The meat quality is great, but the whole combination just worked, and that combination clearly comes from the owner's own philosophy about meat — you can tell they researched every detail themselves.

Search for a meat restaurant in Sangok-dong or Cheongcheon-dong and Myeongmun Restaurant barely shows up — why on earth is a place this good so hidden?? Even the few reviews that exist all say the same thing: this place deserves way more business ㅠㅠ I agree completely. If you're looking for a restaurant in Sangok-dong or Cheongcheon-dong, or a spot near Sangok Station for a group meal, give Myeongmun Restaurant a try *,*
