## In short

Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Siheung Janggok Branch is an all-you-can-eat cypress-steamed pork and shabu-shabu restaurant on the 3rd floor of Janggok Edutower in Janggok-dong, Siheung, Gyeonggi. The writer came on a weekday lunch with her husband, their child and a stroller, and ordered the weekday lunch set with a half katsuo, half spicy mushroom broth (17,900–19,900 won), working through cypress-steamed pork, shabu-shabu, fresh spring rolls and the salad bar over a 100-minute course. Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Siheung Janggok Branch is an all-you-can-eat cypress-steamed pork and shabu-shabu restaurant on the 3rd floor of Janggok Edutower, 8 Jinmal 1-ro, Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do (Janggok-dong 934-1). It's open 10:30–22:00 with no break time. Parking gets 2 hours free either in the building's basement lot or at the nearby Yuseung Hannaedeul shopping center lot.

They say 95% of visitors to Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Siheung Janggok Branch say they'll come back after eating there. I went for a family outing on a weekday lunch with my husband and kid. The place recently got renovated, so the interior felt clean and spacious, and being able to enjoy everything from cypress-steamed pork to shabu-shabu, kalguksu noodles and porridge, and a salad bar in one visit made it a pretty good spot for a family meal.

## Where do you park at Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Siheung Janggok Branch?

Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Siheung Janggok Branch is on the 3rd floor of Janggok Edutower. You can use the building's basement parking lot, which has space for over 30 cars, and since I visited on a weekday I could park with plenty of room to spare. If the building lot happens to be full, they say you can also get free parking support at the Yuseung Hannaedeul shopping center lot.

## Can you bring a stroller inside the restaurant?

The Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Siheung Janggok Branch store recently underwent a renovation, so overall it felt clean and spacious. There are quite a lot of seats, and some sections are divided off like partitions, which made it decent for a family meal too. Most importantly, I visited with a stroller and the spacing between tables was generous enough that it wasn't much of a hassle at all.

There was also a kids' room, great for visiting with children. For families, having a spot where kids can play for a bit in the middle of the meal feels like a real plus.

And of course, they had baby chairs on hand too.

## What the all-you-can-eat course includes and what weekday lunch costs

![All-you-can-eat menu board at Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Siheung Janggok Branch](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch-06-qtap4-900.webp)

At Pyeonbaek Hoegwan you can enjoy the following course, all-you-can-eat:

- Cypress-steamed pork
- Two kinds of all-you-can-eat beef
- Shabu-shabu + fresh spring rolls
- Kalguksu noodles, porridge
- Unlimited salad bar access

By the way, the dining time is 100 minutes (1 hour 40 minutes).

I went with the weekday lunch menu. Weekday lunch runs from 11am to 3pm, so the window is pretty generous.

Depending on the broth you pick, weekday lunch runs from 17,900 to 19,900 won — I went with the basic katsuo (bonito) plus spicy mushroom broth. At first, seeing 'spicy mushroom' written there, I worried it might be quite spicy and asked a staff member, who explained it's about as spicy as Shin Ramyun. Trying it, it actually felt about like the red broth you'd get at a typical shabu-shabu place — less spicy than I expected.

Weekend dinner is 20,900 won, which felt like a reasonable price considering it includes everything from cypress-steamed pork to shabu-shabu, kalguksu noodles, porridge, and the salad bar. Preschoolers (ages 4–7) are 7,900 won, elementary schoolers (ages 8–13) are 12,900 won.

Each table has a guide printed on it, so it isn't hard to figure out how everything works.

## What was on the salad bar at Pyeonbaek Hoegwan

![Lidded fried items on the salad bar](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch-11-17re2-900.webp)

![Japchae and tteokbokki corner on the salad bar](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch-12-q8esy-900.webp)

![Dakgangjeong and takoyaki on the salad bar](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch-13-1h8qz-900.webp)

![Spaghetti and fried rice on the salad bar](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch-14-2d842-900.webp)

The salad bar had more variety than I expected. There were fried items like potato fries, kimmari (seaweed noodle rolls) and dumplings, plus japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), dakgangjeong (sweet crispy chicken), takoyaki, spaghetti, and fried rice.

What I especially liked was that every dish had a lid on it. With a salad bar that sees a lot of foot traffic, having covers like this felt more hygienic than food sitting out in the open. After the meal, they even had peach black tea, plum tea, slushies, ice cream, and coffee ready, so dessert was well covered too.

![A full plate of cypress-steamed pork](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch-16-1nf7c-900.webp)

![Steamed meat cooked with vegetables](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch-17-1blr1-900.webp)

## Cypress-steamed pork first, then the shabu-shabu

I started with the cypress-steamed pork. Pyeonbaek Hoegwan's cypress-steamed pork is said to be steamed with 12 kinds of medicinal herbs, like a tonic, and maybe because of that it somehow tasted healthy too. Eating the slightly fatty meat together with vegetables and a dab of sauce, it wasn't greasy at all and the combination worked well.

After the steamed pork, you request your shabu-shabu broth via the tablet at the table.

![Requesting shabu-shabu broth via the table tablet](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch-18-w4ulm-900.webp)

There were plenty of fresh vegetables for shabu-shabu, fresh spring roll vegetables, and beef, all set out so we could take as much as we wanted.

![Self-serve bar of shabu-shabu and spring roll vegetables](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch-19-i0dyi-m-900.webp)

![A plate of two kinds of all-you-can-eat beef](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch-20-1imq6-900.webp)

![Pot of half-and-half katsuo and spicy mushroom broth](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch-21-ysw1e-900.webp)

The katsuo broth was clean and familiar-tasting, good for loading up with vegetables and meat, while the spicy mushroom broth was mildly spicy, not overwhelming. With fresh vegetables and mushrooms plus as much beef as we wanted, it felt satisfying in a different way from the cypress-steamed pork.

![Shabu-shabu with vegetables and beef simmering in the broth](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch/pyeonbaek-hoegwan-siheung-janggok-stroller-lunch-22-h6w8r-1200.webp)

There was also a variety of sauces on hand — ponzu, peanut, and chili — so you could choose according to your taste.

If you're visiting with a child, doing the 'Little Vegetable Explorers' mission event together could make for a nice memory too.

You can also pay with Siru, Siheung's local currency. After paying, they gave us a cypress cube as a gift, which was a nice touch.
